It seemed?
See, therein lies the issue. It may seem that way to you and I, and even Love Street. As a supporter we aren't privy to what goes on at the club day in day out. We are left to rely on bits in the press, dodgy rumours and sometimes a tweet from a journalist. I doubt they club waited on solely Campbell.
Having just watched the Scottish news, Stuart McCall was on discussing how frustrated he was at 3 transfer targets not coming off for a variety of reasons. Could the same of happened here?
The other issue is that as a club you want to see progression. You try to move up the league. Now, as you move up the ladder you try to sign better players, however, within your budget there will be many teams competing for the player you want. So what do you do? Continue to chase those better players or sign similar to what you have to appease fans and fill the squad?
I'm not saying I'm happy with the amount of transfer activity, I just think there has to be a sense of realism at times.
f**k, just thinking back to what I said at the beginning. What did supporters before the mid 90's do for transfer gossip? Nae twitter, nae Internet, nae football forums....the record, the sun and the PDE?!?!
