  1. The basis of a decent starting XI there Div. With GLS slotting into left midfield and Campbell Kennedy shoring up a leaky defence, we’d be sorted. Easy the Mirren.
  2. Just my opinion, but I don’t see why Gus returning should engender feelings of unbridled joy, or deep despair. If GLS and Tony think he’s the experienced hard-nosed guy ideal for the role they have in mind - fine by me. Having met Gus a couple of times, I liked him. Maybe Oran & Gus could be the ‘good cop, bad cop’ team. I don’t know...but GLS and Fitzy know just how badly Stubbs conducted his business, so having moved quickly to bag the Scouse dud, are now moving quickly to assist Oran. One of the best things I’ve ever read on here - if Gus comes in, I’m out. Aye, right ye’ are... on your way out, take Brasso and a duster to Gus’ three pieces of silverware.
  3. Aye, but with the transfer window system, unless it's some waifs and strays free agents, not much recruiting going on. If it's a full-time position, buggered if I know what he would be doing every day, bar playing Wee Angry Birds on his PC.
  4. I take it you won't be heading to the Buddie Good Food van next home game for a sheeseburger?
  5. What does a Technical Director actually do, on a daily basis, from 9-5 Mon-Fri? Serious question, I know what Oran is expected to do, what Campbell Kennedy does, and whatTommy Docherty does. What does this role actually involve?
  6. If we do get a result, then the answer to the question is that it is Jack Ross’ car, which was recently serviced by Alan Stubbs, but was being driven by Oran Kearney. Next question please.
  7. If we beat that mob on Friday, then frankly, I couldn’t give a fcuk whose team it is. Paisley Panda and Tommy Docherty could claim the credit for all I would care.
  8. Watching St Mirren cannot aid weight loss, but it can certainly negate the need for extra bran in your diet.
  9. I’ve lost two stone over the last two years. The secret? Looking in the mirror one day, squeezing into too-tight trousers, and thinking ‘right - line in the sand, get this sorted’. Never set any targets, two stone over two years is just the way it worked out. Not crazy dieting for quick weight loss that you could put back on, but a long-term view, take it slow and easy. No Herbal Life. Simply exercised some much needed willpower and cut out a lot of shite (crisps, choccies, burgers, too many beers etc), and exercised regularly. It genuinely ain’t rocket science.
  10. Get the right seat at Hampden and it’s fine. Get one (of many) shit seats, and it’s, well, shit. Talk of reducing the capacity to 35,000 by bringing in both ends to be closer to the pitch is a nonsense. 35,000 for any future OF meetings, or finals involving Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts, or hell, anyone, is a joke. Scotland have played England a couple of times relatively recently. A 35,000 national stadium, when there’s Murrayfield, Ibrox and Celtic Park would be beyond stupid. When Oran leads us out for the Scottish Cup final, I want it to be in at least a 50,000 seater midden.
  11. I think there’s a decent player in there. I’m hoping that a new mangement team can get more out of everyone, and if there was indeed an issue with Stubbs man-management, then like Ross did, hopefully Kearney can generate the same sort of team spirit as before. Of course, it could be that many of Stubbs signings are simply gash... I don’t think so though. I think they could all contribute, under different circumstances. Time will tell, so if they simply are gash, they’ll be found out in jig time. If they’re rotten under Stubbs and rotten under Kearney, then that’s it - out the door in January. Fresh start and a clean slate for all of them though. A new season starts right now. Best wishes to Kpekawa, and everyone.
  12. Puts the ‘we want to win the league / be top 6 / be top 4’ talk into proper perspective.... Fair enough, and a good article. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45476353
  13. Cam Newton brilliant when he runs with it. Cowboys struggling to stop him putting up more rushing yards than Zeke Elliott.
  14. Good one going on between the Vikings and 49ers. 10-3 Vikings at halftime. Beer chilled, Kettle chips in bowl.... unless lavvy is required, not leaving my seat.
  15. Sounds great. One teensy weensy wee problem. How can St Mirren (or indeed any club of our standing) possibly win the league when they simply cannot keep players such as Kenny McLean, Kyle McAllister, John McGinn, Stevie Mallan, Lewis Morgan, or, erm, anyone who shines for six games on the trot and is immediately sold. Oh Oran, you spent ten minutes in Fitzy’s company, didn’t you. Anyway, back in the real world, if you could just maybe do a ‘Tommy Wright’, that would be fine and dandy. Ta. Now, have a wee lie down and a stiff drink.
  16. I blame the umpire... was it Collum?
  17. They look like a lovely family. Big leap for all of them. I’m sure we’ll give them a warm welcome, and make them feel at home. Reading some Belfast area press stories, I think Mrs Kearney will be spotted at Braehead and Silverburn a fair bit. https://mobile.twitter.com/LaurenKearney3
  18. Just realised. It’s not just the players that are much, much younger than me any more. Now the managers are too. Pah.
  19. My missus thinks Cody Cooke is fit. That’s about it.
