  1. In a way I don't blame Saints. I was certain he would leave in the summer. If the ONLY way we could get him to resign was to promise not to stand in his way if bids of 300k or more came in, then I can see why we agreed. Even if a gentlemans agreement, we need to honour that. I reckon they agreed to it hoping that a bidding war would start... hence Teale being told to tout him in every interview possible. It just backfired as nobody other than McInnes saw the true potential and sheer bargain on offer. Good luck Kenny and thanks for everything. It has been a real pleasure watching you develop into a player with the potential to use Aberdeen as just another stepping stone on the way to the top of the game!
  2. That made me laugh and nearly spit out my Transfer Deadline gin!!!
  3. C'mon... somebody say it... I don't want to be the one... ...
  4. Dayton has said there is a possibility he may stay longer... suits both parties methinks.
  5. Coming fae Linwood, what option do you have?!!!!!!!
  6. You obviously know better than Derek McInnes, who says he is still learning and still developing.
  7. He's gone for a mental wander. That was my worry. When mentally strong there is nothing between them. When Murray loses the plot like this he is more of an opponent than his opponent!
  8. Both getting tired now so mistakes will increase and mental strength will become more important.
  9. Apparently the Sun has an article saying Dayton might consider extending his stay beyond the current loan deal.
  10. Clash of the Titans. Some sublime tennis
  11. I was also really impressed at his communication with new team mates throughout. Showed a lot of maturity, which can only benefit our young team.
  12. I remember a period when a rather raw striker called Mehmet was getting pelters from our fans... saying it would be best for him if he was "rested". Eventually, Gus gave in (for the first and last time) and dropped him. McPherson later lamented that he had given in to popular opinion, but he had seen first hand what the "rest" had done to Mehmet's confidence. This is a situation where we must trust Teale and he must be a "manager" rather than a coach. If he feels John will benefit more from support to play through the rut then that is good enough for me. If he feels a rest is more beneficial, again, he has my support. In either case, McGinn is one of the finest talents we have produced in years; has the right attitude; and WILL come back with a vengeance!
  13. very well said. Guy next to me was giving McGinn pelters throughout the match. Not one thing came off for the lad. Simple things were made to look difficult... But he never hid, never shirked a tackle, never stopped trying and never stopped looking for the ball. He had a howler, but I'd take McGinn in his worst form in a starting jersey over a myriad of recent year posing imposters!!! Let's support him through this! Remember when McLean's form dipped? The abuse he took! People questioning his effort! This will happen with young players and this is truly where we, as SUPPORTERS can really make a difference.
  14. I think we need to trust Thommo's judgement on this. Surely he wouldn't put his career at risk.
  15. Not Stephen McGinn... He has joined Dundee till the end of the season.
  16. I'm actually starting to look forward to this one. Giving two Thistle fan friends a lift through... so the banter on the way back will be interesting! !!
  17. So do Vanzy and Shuggy... neither of whom were ever any good at it anyway!
  18. I know what you are saying... but the culprits vs Dundee were McGinn, McLean and Arquin. I reckon all three would have scored those same chances more often than not. The positive is that we ARE creating chances now. Under Craig we were lucky to create more than 2 in any one match! If Dayton can add to the quality deliveries then we will have strengthened wisely. One thing for sure... if he shapes up then I'd rather have one Arquin than numerous wasters as has been the case for some time. I reckon Teale has his work cut out creating a squad from the ruins he inherited... but I like the methodical way he is going about his business. Centre half next... and then, if a decent one is available, a striker. That would be my priority list.
  19. I don't! Why waste Mallan in a holding role when we can see how effective he is going forward. We wasted McLean there... let's not make the same mistake again. McGinn and Osborne are a better partnership to hold the fort, protect the defence and let Mallan, Dayton and McLean run amok.
