  1. Maybe leave the 6000 odd days of domination banner till near the end of the game if we are winning next time...looked like it had jinxed us until the late goal, that would have been embarassing.
  2. Signed a contract extension till 2019. Excellent news, has the potential to be a star.
  3. Only at 15 for tonight currently as Brian Casey pulled out. Thomas Rooney is next in line on teamer.
  4. Wales v Portugal on wednesday night, I'll have it recording to watch when I get in so no spoilers please lads
  5. Not what I was expecting but I actually really like it, hope it's real.
  6. Wonder if this was planned or was a knee jerk reaction in his dissapointment at falling at the last hurdle with Argentina again. At the next world cup he'd only be 31 and likely still not far off his prime, he's probably just sick off dragging an underachieving Argentina team through tournaments.
  7. It's a bit of a strange one having all the premiership U20s teams in it especially since there are many Championship U20s teams who finished higher (like us), but I don't see why people are so worked up about it. Nobody really cared that much about the Challenge Cup before anyway and if you can't beat an U20s team you dont deserve to win a trophy.
  8. Im sure Celtic U20s are decent but St Mirren U20 beat them last season so would like to think our first team could beat them fairly comfortably.
  9. If any of the U20s teams get as far as the 3rd round (Apart from the maybe the old firm) they could get a real doing off one of the better Championship sides. No comment on wether I'm counting us as a better Championship side
  10. Take it he is being signed as a backup to Langfield?
  11. So when do we come in? The next round?
  12. Can't believe how many we've reached, when the deadline was set I think we were around the 500 mark and I geniunely didn't think we would make 1000 but we have smashed it.
  13. Legit as in not made up by the papers, not legit as in a good idea for the club.
  14. Talking to a guy in work who has just came back from a week down south at his in-laws, he says his wife’s brother in law is involved in this Qatari deal acting as some sort of broker. He seems to think the deal is legit and the reason they want to buy a British club is to allow them get their money in and out of the country easier (no idea how owning a club helps this?). He says saints are their first option due to the proximity to airport and the deal to build the sports complex in Feegie but they are also interested in Morecambe. Apparently there are some big names involved including Jorge Mendez and a former agent of Neymar. I have no idea if any of this is true could all be BS but it definitely seems like a legit bid.
  15. Forgot about that one too, brought my Rangers supporting mate along because we had a spare season ticket and he said it was the best game he's ever seen live. I remember when we went 4-2 up Goodwin made a slide tackle at the touchline in front of us and stuck his toungue out at the crowd mid slide thinking the game was won.. 10 minutes later it was 4-4. Thommos overhead kick clinched it with the last kick, definitely worth the entry fee for once!
  16. That was the game before the Ayr game wasn't it? Paul McKnight was the Isma of that season, showed up out of knowhere scored 2 vital goals and then dissapeared again. I remember Jens Paeslack leading the team in taking a bow to the fans at the end. ETA - According to his wikipedia page McKnight played 21 times for us, dont remember him playing so many games.
  17. Because when players on lucrative contracts suddenly stop getting wages in every month they don't tend to take it well. Gretna are dead because their sugar daddy's money dried up when he popped his clogs.
  18. St Mirren 3-2 Celtic – Cup semi-final, left a weekend in Newcastle with my pals early to get an early train home very tired and hungover with a knee in agony 2 weeks after dislocating it. Everyone wrote us off, my (non St Mirren supporting) pals thought I was mad but it was all worth it. St Mirren 4-0 Celtic – Decided against going to this one after the that cup final against Rangers the weekend before, listened on the radio with my Dad and couldn’t believe what we were hearing. Gutted I wasn’t there. Ayr 1-2 St Mirren – 99/00 season I was 9 and was the first year I went to the majority of games, we all thought we’d won the league went that goal went in as we wrongly thought Dunfermline were losing. Don’t think I appreciated how special that season was at the time, 16 seasons on I do now. Motherwell 2-3 St Mirren – Another one I missed, was working in a shop at the time and couldn’t get the day off. Hiding in the warehouse listening to open all mics I thought it was all over at HT, think I gave the customers a fright when the 3rd went in and a massive shout came from the warehouse. Raith Rovers 1-2 St Mirren – Fell about 5 rows down when the winner went in.
  19. Where does all the quids go at the end of the season? Free pies all round?
  20. If we fall just short of the 1000 mark but the financial target is met due to the £25 a month pledges, is it possible the deal will still go ahead? ETA: I'm assuming the figure of 1000 signups includes a large tolerence to account for people cancelling or unforeseen costs?
  21. Knew my Manual Neur-esque sweeper keeper technique would fail me at some point
