  1. Very important for the over 80s! Is Gareth Icke related to David Icke?
  2. The independent tribunal did not decide on the punishment. That would be down to the SPFL board.
  3. It depends on your definition of a cup tie. This is how i would define it. From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English "cup tie (noun) game between two teams in a competition in which only the winning team will play any more games"
  4. I didn't say it was a knockout tie. I know you didn't but the quarter final against Rangers is, as opposed to a group game.
  5. That was the Scottish Cup. Our only win against them in the League Cup was the 4-1 at Ibrox in 1972. That was not a knock out tie. It was one of 6 sectional games.
  6. According to stmirren.info the last time we beat them in a cup tie was on our way to the 1926 Scottish Cup Final. I am not old enough to remember this; my father was only 6 years old at the time!
  7. Two shots on goal and an assist. Not too bad.
  8. Why should the percentage of false positives increase if the prevalence rises?
  9. A Brexiteer who doesn't want to abolish the ECHR! 😲

  11. What does this prove? If you applied the same criteria to flu deaths the figures be exactly the same.
  12. The annual number of flu deaths in the USA over the past 10 years has varied from 12,000 to 61,000. I seem to remember several posters maintaining that Covid 19 was no more serious than flu. They seem to have become very quiet recently.
  13. Over the past few years discussions about heading the ball have centred on the effects on the brain. One thing that has always interested me is why so many players close their eyes when heading the ball. There is a piece in today's Herald about Ryan Jack accompanied by a picture of him rising to head the ball against Serbia, with his eyes screwed tight shut. When I was a young boy(a very long time ago) I was always taught to keep my eye on the ball when heading it. Perhaps this explains the many misdirected headers prevalent in today's football.

    Snack Bars

If that's a snack I hate to think what a meal might be! 😄
  15. Yep, the old Gordon Street bus depot had one - still there next to chippy. Also one in Causeyside St next to Farm Foods.
  16. Pend Pend is a Scottish architectural term referring to a passageway that passes through a building, often from a street through to a courtyard or 'back court', and may be for both vehicles and pedestrian access or exclusively pedestrians. I always knew Weighhouse Close as the Palladium Pend.

  18. Dundee Utd who have been playing regularly looked more tired than us on Friday.
  19. This is a vaccine that has to be kept at minus 70 or 80 degrees Centigrade. Could be major problems in its distribution.
  20. it appears that his main reason for going to court is to prevent the counting of postal votes in the swing states.
