  2. What does this prove? If you applied the same criteria to flu deaths the figures be exactly the same.
  3. The annual number of flu deaths in the USA over the past 10 years has varied from 12,000 to 61,000. I seem to remember several posters maintaining that Covid 19 was no more serious than flu. They seem to have become very quiet recently.
  4. Over the past few years discussions about heading the ball have centred on the effects on the brain. One thing that has always interested me is why so many players close their eyes when heading the ball. There is a piece in today's Herald about Ryan Jack accompanied by a picture of him rising to head the ball against Serbia, with his eyes screwed tight shut. When I was a young boy(a very long time ago) I was always taught to keep my eye on the ball when heading it. Perhaps this explains the many misdirected headers prevalent in today's football.

    Snack Bars

If that's a snack I hate to think what a meal might be! 😄
  6. Yep, the old Gordon Street bus depot had one - still there next to chippy. Also one in Causeyside St next to Farm Foods.
  7. Pend Pend is a Scottish architectural term referring to a passageway that passes through a building, often from a street through to a courtyard or 'back court', and may be for both vehicles and pedestrian access or exclusively pedestrians. I always knew Weighhouse Close as the Palladium Pend.

Does he have a plan for collecting his £10k fines?
  9. Dundee Utd who have been playing regularly looked more tired than us on Friday.
  10. This is a vaccine that has to be kept at minus 70 or 80 degrees Centigrade. Could be major problems in its distribution.
  11. it appears that his main reason for going to court is to prevent the counting of postal votes in the swing states.
  12. From his previous posts I think he probably lives under a stone.
  13. Trump claiming victory but saying that he will be going to court over the results!! 😕
  14. Would you want to watch it if it were free? 🤔
  15. "Taiwan holds the world’s best virus record by far and reached the 200-day landmark on Thursday. Its last local case came on April 12; there has been no second wave. On Friday, it reached 201 days without a local case. What did this island of 23 million people do right? It has had 553 confirmed cases, with only seven deaths. Experts say closing borders early and tightly regulating travel have gone a long way toward fighting the virus. Other factors include rigorous contact tracing, technology-enforced quarantine and widespread mask wearing. Further, Taiwan’s deadly experience with SARS has scared people into compliance." What do our "let Covid run riot" friends have to say to this?
  16. Are there really no other news media in the UK and have you forgotten the government's attempts to emasculate the BBC? 😒
  17. My former French teacher at the JNI was was W Steel Brownlie who landed as a tank commander on the Normandy beaches and advanced through northern France into Belgium and Holland. He was later the CO of the Ayrshire Yeomanry TA Depot in George Street. I remember him taking my class of 30+ boys on an afternoon visit to the depot and letting us crawl all over and inside the tanks. If I remember rightly he had been awarded the Military Cross.
  18. It appears that the truth is that all of the hospital's intensive care beds are full. No mention of total number of Covid cases in the hospital. https://www.itv.com/news/2020-10-12/covid-inside-blackpool-victoria-hospital-where-intensive-care-unit-is-at-full-capacity
