  1. Not played badly at all. Have had the better chances. Looked solid at the back for the most part. Just lacking midfield to forward link up. That said Gow has had a few speculative efforts from outside the box. West back resolutely failing to react to the jeering from the hospitality in the main stand. Tess good reception after media shenanigans. Genev got better reception than Gow but both playing alright. Game here for the winning.
  2. Good start from Genev. Only one mistake where he lost Scotland on edge of box. Great half time entertainment too!
  3. Thought we were too easily turned though. On seeing it again agree should have been out to pick it up...
  4. Kello rooted to line. In fairness not his fault, but honest assessment...
  5. Big Jim getting in early for Villa's top...who was the last World Cup winner to play against Saints?
  6. x2 missed the cross...rubbish goal to lose. In fairness Villa's wages greater than our turnover as a club? Commentators commentating for NYC fans. Not as bad as Celtic TV mind you...
  7. Working on YouTube no probs. Got it on tv via xbox. So should work on computer...if not phone...
  8. One or the other. Agree we are weaker without him, but again if Kenny wanted to go then that was up to him. Time for the guys in the squad to get their sleeves rolled up and start grafting...
  9. Time to get over it guys. Sold for too little in my opinion and will be a phenomenal bargain from an Aberdeen perspective, but time to wish him all the best and move on. No player is bigger than the club. The timing is rotten, but we have a real fight on our hands to stay up. If Kenny didn't see himself as part of that fight then that is his prerogative and fair play to him, it's a short career after all. Time to get back behind Saints and their current players...
  10. Is that because they are all in the first team?McGinn, Naismith, Kelly, Mallan, McAusland, McLear, Morgan, Reilly... or are all of the above tarred by the same brush? Fact is he was let go, our club continued the development process and now have made a return. You can argue about the value (I think it is rather low especially give his proven record at the level he will be playing at) but you can't argue about the fact a talented player was successfully brought to our club continued his development and has now been sold on...
  11. O'Brien, McNamee, Baker, Lavety, Gillies are the significant ones from mid/late 90s. The only significant sale since 2000 that I can find is Simon Lappin...Barry McLaughlin and Junior Mendes sold for small values...Relatively rare occasion for us to make money with a sale... Frustrating timing though! Is this an answer to Longwell's critics though?
  12. Gillies £460,000 to Aberdeen? The only other one I can think of...
  13. Hopefully with a sell on clause, but who knows. Was the last sale of this order Ferguson in the 80s? (Just to put into perspective)
  14. Slightly off topic, but is this an option these days for a few shares to be bought? (Not £1.5million I hasten to add)
  15. Hard to believe it is 31 games since our last clean sheet. Even more amazed that the figure has not been trotted out on a weekly basis by the doomsday soothsayers on this forum. Enough negativity though. Great defensive team performance tonight. Not a player was lacking defensively and the effort was there to see all over the park. Not a classic performance but 3 very valuable points which will hopefully bolster confidence particularly in the defence. The back 4 in particular were immense, with Cheesy and Goodwin being the stand out players. Thommo's takle on our right wing in the first half epitomised the team spirt and fantastic to have him back. McGinn had another off par game but the guy never hid for a second, constantly wanting on the ball. Hopefully we can all get behind the team in the same way next game and get our first home win this season. Oh and the best bit from a crowd perspective...COYS when...defending...the corner right at the end of the match, that is how to back the team! ETA and I forgot to mention McLean's forward runs. It will be amazing to have McGinn back on top form with McLean at his best also.
  16. Dundee had an awful lot of possession in the first half but mainly in their own half and not threatening. We were very incisive but missing the killer punch. A welcome change although we did play good football another reason for giving Teale the job and ending all the ambiguity.
  17. Agree with you there. Over the top criticism maybe but all too often some are never happy.IF we stay up we will be in a fantastic position to move forward hopefully replicating the young guys entering the team at ease. The key issue as we all know is... Goals at both ends of the park. New found positivity and in particular excellent deliveries have us begging for Thommo to return. I have to say I'd go for Teale now and get rid of any ambiguity. The guys are playing for him and how we managed to waste so many chances yesterday I'll never know but I don't think we are far away from clicking.
  18. Deliveries are brilliant particularly the out-swinging corner from the right. Best dead ball delivery since Simon Lappin. Bit harsh on others though like McGinn. I hope it is a reflection on the high standards he has set for himself rather than the typical talking down of everything St.Mirren related.
  19. Agree completely. Certainly would voice questions over a number of decisions but not because of an agenda against us, simply because they seemed to be questionable and at times inconsistent. I don't think it is wrong for the club to ask questions, but to suggest an agenda is too far in my opinion.
  20. Completely agree. That was defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. Bitterly disappointing but on the whole it will come if we start scoring goals...a big if but I'd be far more despondent if hadn't played as well for long periods of the game...
  21. First booking was for petulance, not excuses there. Second, if he dived my question is why? He cut back and from 8 yards was able to pull the trigger if he wanted so why dive? I don't know whether he did or didn't and I was about 10 yards away. Don't envy the referee's job but haven't a clue why he chose to if he did dive.
