This is the bit I don't quite get about you...........when you cut through the "bullshit" and "smart-arse" stuff you have a lot of things to say that are quite worthwhile listening to/reading!!
Even more reason for you to be involved (even as just a member) as with numbers we have strength when guided in the right directions. The guidance is driven by constructive debate and evolving direction to shape what we "the fans/members", "community groups/members" want the CiC to look like to help benefit SMFC and the community surrounding it.

First of all, i doubt the Steering Comittee as they should be calling themselves, will turn anyone away from running for election. The more candidtaes the better is always the rule with this sort of stuff. but they need to add the word considered in for protection.
You could be potentially looking to fill 10 spaces, do you think 10 folk will put their name forward? i doubt it to be honest.
Thats not a slant on st mirren fans... thats just fans in general no matter the club.

Cheers mate, make no mistake, hopefully everyone knows me well enough by now. I'm not here to wind folk up or create an alias to generate nonsense.
I consider myself part of paisley, I will be spending a good while here now and my child will be born in paisley, most probably a st mirren fan.
They're due to be born in mid July, and the same day I register their birth, I'll be registering a DD in their name so that in years to come they can look back on their certificate and know that they were part of one of the biggest and best things to happen in Scottish football.

Fraser, seriously, were you ever taken in by that shite? The consortium was always going to sell to the highest bidder, and I reckon the desperation to shift the shares ASAP is because of the financial uncertainty surrounding the SPL and the whole Newco Rangers stuff anyway. There is a real possibility that the SFA could suspend Rangers membership next week, and if they do it could have massive financial implications for St Mirren FC - it certainly would have massive implications in terms of the value of the 52% shareholding within the club.
The two bids - if they exist - could be absolutely anything. It could be a muiti billionaire Arab sheik coming in with a desire to make St Mirren European Champions Cup Winners in the next 3 years, or it could be someone fronting for a possible Rangers Newco option in the style of Airdrie United, just incase they need it. However one thing is crystal clear - the fans comfort blanket - Gilmour - won't be in charge for much longer.
10000hours is what it is. It looks like a good idea to me. The business model has worked well elsewhere in Scotland and across Europe. I know they've probably got more intelligent fans than St Mirren but I don't think that's a factor here. Where fans are at now is they either back something that has been explained to them, or they don't and they take their chance with whomever the consortium chooses to sell too. There's no wrong answer. As Sid says it's a personal choice. Good luck.

Just walking past maxwellton on the way up the road.
I'd urge everyone to get behind this 100%
But as I said at the meeting. Don't dismiss the constitution as some shit on a bit of lavvy paper. These are the rules you must abide by. Every single person who signs up should be aware off it and read it.
Take an interest, get involved. This is your club. Now more than ever.
And yes, I filled in a DD.
On a side note, the smisa folk are wired to the moon, retired folk, scared their wee gang will mow mean hee haw. They were the easiest to spot in the room.

really hope there is a good turn out in person, and for those unable to attend, online.
this could be life changing for the saints, and if successful, a model that could be used across scottish football, a model that Supporters Direct and their member Trusts have wanted for so long.
i would urge anyone who has any concerns, or just wants more info to get down there... and ultimately, get involved...
it's all very well saying "i stick a tenner in a pot every month give me a pat on the bum and a biscuit", but things like this need the fans to be involved, right from the start.
lets hope it's a success, and i walk out having filled in a DD mandate.

To be fair to the likes of SMiSA and those expressing concern about the CIC....they don't actually have to plan to do anything. It is up to 10000 Hours to prove that their proposal is properly financed and without risk. If they do great, if they don't then 10000 Hours should rightly be consigned to the bin or the deadline moved until such time as 10000 Hours can get their finder out of their arse and provide the details we require.
The ball is in 10000 Hours court and they need to prove to us without a shadow of a doubt that they are a safe pair of hands for the club moving forward. Forget all the "fans are 10000 Hours bollox. That's marketing nonsense. The key to this is whether they can demonstrate that the finances work, and that the club IS secure and cannot be compromised by external bawbags such as the 1877 club members - who might turn out to be the existing consortium anyway. They have opted to tell us f"k all until tonight. I hope to be dazzled with wondrous detail tonight and wonder home to crack open the champagne. We just don't know yet.
I do have a slight concern about a wee line in the email sent out this morning about tonight being the "final chance" to ask questions.....probably just slaberry marketing stuff - but a pretty shit statement to make in relation to fan ownership, especially as I've got aboput 10,000 questions. Hopefully tonight will help in filtering them done to a manageable number.

looking at the info available. it seems that the CIC model is very similar to the existing Smisa model, i.e an IPS working under the rules of supporters direct, with similar objectives... However...
Why has a board been elected without proper legal, elections taking place?
the current "board" in effect should be known a a steering commitee, and once everything is approved, an open election should be held where members can run for election.
IT is also worth noting that as per rule25.2 of the draft constituition, the current CIC board can remain in place for 3 years. and as per rule 25.4, on that 3rd year's AGM, they can be reappointed, without going through the election process.
Infact, open elections to the CIC board don't seem to have been mentioned at all.
reading through everything, it seems that the CIC is in actual fact another Supporters trust, just with a bigger share than usual.
it is all very well having 52% of the shares... what happens if people are elected onto the Club Board without contributing money and purchasing shares, as has happenned at Firhill?
what has happenned there is the Trust in effect no longer have 10% of the vote via shares, as many people voting in the board room, don't own shares, but still have a vote a director.

So KMG forced the expense of setting up an EGM on the club for what exactly....just for the sake of fannying everybody about and causing unrest amongst the support. Did he really not even bother his arse turning up?

    Thanks Div, and yer Mods.
Since setting up house with wee Herbie and being bullied into "following" St Mirren, i've become a bit of a regular on here.
Got to say i love it, love being part of it and love the nonsense that comes with it, even if i have been guilty of letting the forum wind up merchant get under my skin, on the odd occasion. you know who you are.
anyways, keep up the good work, its much appreciated, by this Jag.
