  1. Let's see how he does first before fretting about his possible departure. I'd be more than happy if he does well enough with us to be poached by a bigger club, as this means we'll have done very well. It's up to us to be keeping a keen eye on other managers so that we're prepared for that possibility with a list of managers we think can continue the good work. We should be looking to develop into a club that competes for honours more regularly, which in turn will persuade managers to stay with us a little longer each time. If we can get out of the habit of making bad appointments and having to sack a manager ever 6 months, that will also help when attracting new managers.
  2. Back on ignore you go - was a fun few weeks until the negative, slightly paranoid and quite deluded posting started again...
  3. Was meaning more the twitter account - I wouldn't believe most of the crap I read on here...
  4. Equivalent of BAWA so I'd take it as the truth.
  5. The jacket could probably do a better job of managing man utd than Mourinho...
  6. Let's look at the squad left behind. We have, I think, 10 members of the squad who won the league last season - Samson, Eckersley, Mackenzie, Baird, McGinn, Magennis, McShane, Smith, Mullen, Flynn, plus fringe players like Erhahon, McPherson and Kirkpatrick. Of the signings, Coulson looked a great prospect when he signed, but his confidence has been sapped over time. Similarly Kpekawa looked good on his debut, before becoming a jitter big lump who looked terrified of making a mistake. A new manager who can restore their confidence could have two very decent players, Hodson is an experienced international full back who should definitely do a job for us in this league, while Edwards is an experienced midfielder with nearly 100 premiership games under his belt. Brock-Madsen is surely able to be a useful player in the Premiership having scored a few goals in the Eredivisie. Paul McGinn has a lot of Premiership experience as well. The fellas from down south, the non-league players and loans, are more difficult to predict what impact they could have with proper direction and tactical training. Don't write off the season just yet.
  7. Indeed. I think it may have been a little more difficult getting experienced guys who are still able to play at this level in the door than it was getting the younger guys in. Anyway, seems all to be too little too late, from what we're hearing.
  8. The termination fee isn't specifically linked to the length of the deal. There will be a separate termination clause which will stipulate a much lower fee, probably a year's salary, for termination, with a similar amount being due if another club wanted to offer the manager a position while he was under contract.
  9. The board have presided over this whole episode, so if they are now going to sack their man, they better have a damn good plan rather than another few weeks sifting through applicants.
  10. I can't disagree with a lot of what you're written, but I still believe every manager deserves time to do the job, especially one who has been given a 3 year contract less than 3 months ago. This would be the case with any manager we appointed.
  11. He's already getting unwarranted abuse mate. I judge each manager on his own merits rather than relate to a previous regime. It is looking grim now, but this is a crucial decision for us. If we sack Stubbs and get someone in who is no better then what is the point? And I know some will say that nobody could be worse than Stubbs, but he has 1 win in 4 so far - Alex Rae started his fatal season with no wins in 6 in the league, and Jack Ross started with 6 defeats. I will be unimpressed if the board sack a manager 4 league games into a 3 year contract, having seemingly lost faith in him well before this point. I will also have little faith in them striking it lucky with their next appointment. It's a huge mess already, and will get no tidier with an early sacking, unless we have someone better lined up to come in.
  12. Saturday was an improved performance, but a leaky defence undermines everything in front of it. After an early setback, we fought back to level, but up against the form team in the country, one which is tipped as possible early challengers, we succumbed to their onslaught as a few have already done this season. We had two player making their second start in our defence, so still early days in terms of building relationships there. Celtic up next is another thankless task. The Hamilton game is the key one for me. IF we can go there and pick up three points, Stubbs will have bought himself some time. If we lose that one I dread to think of the abuse he will be getting on social media from people who should know better. I'm all for giving the manager a chance, as I was when he was appointed, and am willing him to succeed, as unlikely as most believe that to be.
  13. So you think the manager was warned for that? Are you f**king mental? Are we going to give the next manager a list of players who are above being dropped as well?
  14. I'd rather the squad we have - which still contains 10 players who played key parts in our promotion last season - show some fight on the pitch, rather than all turn on the manager and use his mere presence as an excuse for failure. I'm sorry but far too many fans seem have absolutely no stomach for a hard season. We've made underhwelming signings in the main, but most of these guys haven't even played a handful of games yet - some of them haven't had 90 minutes in total for the team - and every single one has been written off. Am I alone in wanting to actually see how the team gets on before surrendering completely? Is everyone just intent on predicting our doom and then waiting to gloat when it comes to pass? FFS grow a pair, as someone once said...
  15. I'm just trying to figure out what he suggest is managerial shenanigans...
