Cheesy played well...but again had his moments. Grainger bailed him out with a great block. He miscontrolled a throw in that Boyd almost got in from and had the touch of an elephant under no pressure in the middle of park that Killie again almost pinched. Teale also gave him a bollocking 1st half for refusing to receive a throw in from McGregor. As for Goodwin, he was our best player at Inverness and was good again today. He is by no means perfect but no one can underestimate how important he is to us.

Folk who want to see the positives from today will see them. Those whose minds are already made up...well I doubt anything will change their mind.

Looks like both Reilly and McGinn on the bench. Mclean, Robertson and Newton all warming up with the starting 11.

I think that realistically it'll be Robertson and Newton in for Van Zanten and Reilly. With Harkins or potentially McGinn on the left. Although I wouldn't surprised if Danny brings McLean back into the fold if he is 100%. This needs to be the season where we make St Mirren park a tough place for teams to visit. We need to win at home, and learn how to win ugly at home. 3-1 to the good guys.

Why panic about other teams picking up points when we haven't even got a game. Of course we are going to be slow out of the blocks as, Hearts and Partick will have played 3 games before we play our second. If Adam Campbell comes then great, but Danny is clearly working on other deals behind closed doors as well. Surely that's how we want business done? Frankly the idea that Danny is sitting in his office all day waiting on a phone call from Pardew is embarrassing. Also...in terms of transfers. I would take quality over quantity every time. The SPL or SPFL is that type of league where a wee bit of quality makes a big difference.

I wouldnt read too much into the Hearts win, as an Edinburgh derby at a packed Tynecastle. Wont be like that every week. Killie and Thistle first 2 home games. We need to make the new stadium a hard place for teams to come too and grind out results regularly in our favour. Hope for 6 pts from those two...at worst 4.

highlight of going to firhill Friday night was seeing shuggie again. Was in a suit so doubt he will be back for when they come to town. ALso..I never thought United or thistle looked anything great. Long season ahead, will once again be very tight between 8-9 teams I think.

I don't quite get view that ICT are way ahead of us. Prior to the penalty and us hitting self destruct there was nothing between the teams. Did Cornell have to make a save? The team crumbled around Goodwin today. We need someone like him in the midfield in games like that, to grab the game by the neck. We can't just let teams run over us onto the back 4 that easily. Also think we should have held Grainger back for another 2 week's to get even fitter and find his touch. He looked like he was struggling with his touch, positioning and fitness.

Caley fans also said it was never a penalty or booking.

Reilly was poor. McGowan anonymous. Thompson too isolated. Harkins too deep. Grainger still looks off the boil. Keeper had nothing to do all 1st half, then had a howler out of nowhere. Best player Jim Goodwin. 2 weeks to get it sorted. Hope there is transfer activity very early next week.
