  1. Carey was keen to go anywhere, that wasn't Ross County. They offered him a new improved deal which he declined. Let his contract expire, before being forced to return to county on a lesser contract than his old one. No doubt he could have returned to us, but we weren't the only team unwilling to take him on.
  2. If (more like when) we get relegated I think he wwould be our manager in the championship. What better way to sell season tickets!? If we miraculously stay up, then he will probably go to the lower leagues to manage initially.
  3. Remember when folk genuinely thought that Tommy was the real brains behind Danny Lennon. Well that bubble is well and truly burst. The sad thing is...our board obviously somehow believed that as well as they shoehorned him into the job! What a mess we are in. We finished 8th last year. No Hearts, no Hibs, no Rangers. What a chance we had for a positive league campaign. Unfortunately the board ruined that opportunity, with the decisions they made.
  4. Goodwin would have enjoyed that game tonight! Lenient refereeing. Oldies should been down to 4 men!
  5. There are worse incidents at the dome on a Wednesday night! Genuinely think it looks accidental. Yep it's a farce, 0 clean sheets and nothing appears to be getting done about it. Everything we hear about is scoring, scoring scoring. If ain't broke don't fix it...well our defence is broken and nothing seems to have been done to fix it. We could try a back 5 for a change, try and stifle the game and nick a goal somehow.
  6. 'Choice' suggests that other candidates were at least considered, our chairman admitted they were not. It was Danny out, Tommy straight in. If the Board had taken a period of time, considered other candidates and then came to the conclusion that Tommy was the man, then imo he would get a longer leash from fans. However they didn't, we have no idea who might've wanted to take over from Danny. He was just handed the job immediately, and that's what most don't understand. Id guess that plenty of folk with a better management record than Tommy Craig would have wanted the job. Sadly we will never know.
  7. Amateur defending...starting to think Tommy's obsession with scoring goals in his interviews is starting to rub off on the players. Defending almost seems like an afterthought ffs!
  8. These are the problems when the board let the managers contract expire. A manager can't afford to look to a future that he may not have be a part of, and sacrifice league places on his record? We could still have finished anywhere from 7th to 10th no? That's a significant differential in prize money for a club like us.
  9. Spite...erm no. How does dropping Thompson benefit Lennon in any way? So it's incompetent to play your strongest team in a bid to earn yourself a new deal! Jeeeez... We all know you had it in for Lennon but this is a bit of a stretch. Even if we take your premise that Danny knew he was being let go, how does playing a weakened team help him get a job elsewhere?
  10. Really...you are mystified by that? What good reason is there for a guy looking for a new deal or job elsewhere to willingly field a weakened team!? You yourself said in March Danny knew he was going to be let go. So why should he owe the club anything, and rest Thompson?
  11. Its not my fault it has only happened 4 times this season.
  12. Danny's disgraces!!! I really hope Tommy or the board are compensating you for this campaign of yours!
  13. I'd imagine Danny Lennon spent as much of the playing budget he was allocated, as he wanted too. Unless the board for some reason allowed him to overspend on the budget, something I very much doubt.
  14. Another pish game, to add to a pish season! Thanks to the board. I wonder If any of them are thinking, maybe we should have actually looked at other candidates for the managers job before handing it to Craig as quickly as they possibly could. What a farce!
  15. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/st-mirren/296794-county-clash-has-taken-on-extra-significance-says-tommy-craig/ "So once again, the perfomance is what I really want" I'd rather we just focus on getting the 3 points thanks.
  16. He wasn't even making the bench last season. Obviously wasn't rated by Lennon.
  17. So that's 4 points from 4 games. Not quite the 4 wins from 5 we had last year. In fact, even if we win the next 3 games we still won't match 14 points from 21 from the same period last year. Ah remember last year, when we had a decent manager and finished 8th. Good times! And as for us playing well, I'm still waiting! How long should I expect to wait?
  18. Drury, Teale, Osbourne and Wylde out. McGinn, Naismith, Kelly, Reilly in. I fear for us. Going to be so lightweight in midfield.
  19. If its correct that an overwhelming majority of 55+ voted for NO, and younger generations were in favour of YES, it seems like its only a matter of time before the matter raises its head again.
  20. Agreed, unless we make a proactive change of manager, we are gone. Club seems to be in turmoil on and off the pitch, and has been since the end of last season. From Danny-gate onwards, mistake after mistake.
  21. This adds more weight to the rumours about Thompson being unhappy with how events transpired in the summer, and was appeased with the armband. He must be the most likely source for Stewart to be hearing about these issues.
  22. Sad state of affairs. Every single person (except Lex, who guarantees an 8th place finish) recognizes we are going to finish 11th at best with TC in charge. 650 fans at rugby park. Can St Mirren afford fans to vote with their feet at home games. Attendance's are going to plummet I am sure the longer this goes on.
