  1. The lad Jedeau from Morecambe is heavily linked and pretty highly rated. But left footed centre halves who have pace are an absolute premium at this level. Dunne isn't perfect, if he was, he'd not be with us but he's not going to be easy to replace if the Jedeau move doesn't pan out. If it does though it will be a good bit of business.
  2. Kiltie is 26. How young should he be replaced by? Absolute nonsense.
  3. Anyone who doesn't want this outcome can soundly be accused of hating the OF more than they love St. Mirren. Something that I throw at Rangers and Celtic supporters all the time as winning is almost more a GIRUY to the other side than a celebration of actual achievement for their own side. If we finish 5th or even 4th (as it will push us a round further on), I will be fully but admittedly ashamedly backing whichever arsecheek wins on Saturday/Sunday/whenever their semi is.
  4. Yeah, think we sacrificed just over 100 seats to make something like 12 spaces at elevated disabled viewing.
  5. Well, if we've sold every available seat in a stadium that holds 7,937 people, then we'll be looking at 7,900+ tomorrow.
  6. Records are there to be toppled, go in with the attitude of nothing to lose and you never know.🤞
  7. I dunno man. I've just got a wee feeling about today. Probably just a touch of indigestion but we shall see!
  8. Mark O'Hara is signing of the season and player of the season for me. And that doesn't come easily as Carson, Strain, Baccus and Gallagher could all realistically fall into that category bit I think with no O'Hara in there, we just wouldn't tick.
  9. Unfortunately this was always going to be the outcome when you add up the erratic and out of character behaviour described by his family, the isolated area where he was last seen and the fact his last CCTV sighting was heading over the wall towards the river. Hopefully he has found his peace. An awful ending.
  10. We should be going for it without fear. We're in a bit of strange situation where we do have a realistic shout of third (which is honestly unthinkable this deep into the season) but yet, being St. Mirren and knowing St. Mirren, the fear of seventh will linger for now.
  11. We've never quite had as much of a free hit as this. We're essentially 5 and a half (including goal difference) clear of Livi and we should be now trying to keep teams around us close as if we do make top six, it's all going to be very close and very cut throat. So why not go for it against a Rangers side whose league season is now over? They will hopefully be keeping key folk fresh for the cup semi.
  12. We were literally 30 seconds away from it and blew it by conceding an equaliser in 90+ minutes at Hamilton. It doesn't get any closer than that.
  13. You've been frauding as a St. Mirren supporter on here for years mate.🤣
  14. https://www.reddit.com/r/glasgow/comments/yugbq0/beware_richard_dickson_dickson_ventures_is/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button Worth bearing in mind that Reg Brealey was also a millionaire. Money and the pursuit of it does funny and really nasty things to some people.
  15. Nah, not having it at all. For all SMISA is not perfect and is a bit of a shitshow, this is what it was set up for. To protect the club against fraudsters, wannabes and clout chasers. This kid appears to be telling everyone he's rich and that in itself becomes his main source of income as people throw more money at him to learn his 'secret'. This is also a publicity stunt for PR and clout that ultimately leads to him lining his own pockets. Again, I'm not happy with the SMISA situation presently but when you see the number of Saints supporters on here who are willing to take him at face value and think he's genuine when he definitely doesn't pass the sniff test, I'm happy that SMISA is in place to prevent things like this going further than they have to.
  16. So the new interim chairman has been put in place, not only unelected but the individual in question was added to the to the board following the last elections (where 4 new board member were already added I might add) without so much as an announcement - rather than the democratic thing of the spot going to the person who placed fifth in the open elections. I await those who were so vocal about transparency before the last round of elections being just as vocal to the same degree now that their preferred candidate(s) are on the board and apparently just as guilty of keeping things from the larger membership as the previous members of the board that they were so keen to discredit. Maybe no hold my breath though, eh? SMISA cannot continue to take people's money and expect not to be questioned about what the f**k is going on. We pay these fees monthly to be kidded onto that we have a voice and then they go and add people into positions without throwing it out to the membership which was the entire premise of paying a monthly fee (which lets be honest, without a vote or any sort of input from the support, is now pretty much redundant given that the club has been bought)
  17. 'Match commander at Parkhead' Eddie Smith also sent off Will Haining at Parkhead for actually being fouled by Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and awarded a penalty to Celtic. They scored and we lost 1-0 in a game that we were comfortably the better side.
  18. There was discussion about this over on P&B a couple of weeks back. The goal that was chalked off for offside was because there was a Saints player standing near the line. There was a Rangers player on the goal line but the keeper had rushed out ahead of the Saints player just before it. In today's game that's never given as an offisde as the man on the line wasn't interfering with play but back then it was off. The linesman was tripping over himself with joy to be able to stick his flag up though, he's even giving it the wee strut. For the other high-profile example of this is in the 1987 SC Final when (I think) Kevin Gallacher scored just before we did but Utd's Iain Ferguson was standing on the goal-line and the goal was disallowed. In modern football it would have stood and we'd have been a goal down in Extra Time. The penalty incident in that 1981 LC Semi was absolutely f**king criminal though.
  19. Artur Boruc almost taking Craig Dargo's head off his shoulders in one of the last meetings with Celtic at Love St. springs immediately to mind. As does Nakamura blatantly cheating to win himself a free kick that he then put away.
  20. John Beaton's attempts in the relegation/promotion playoff second leg to see us away. He a failure to end award a foul on Duckens Nazon when through on goal and wiped out by Connolly who was already on a booking and should have 100% walked and then soon afterwards sending off Nazon (who granted was shite but was totally bamboozling Utd) for jumping for the ball with a straight arm and catching the Utd player with his sleeve. Never forgiven and ever since, his presence in St. Mirren matches is synonymous with us getting f**k-all. An incompetent buffoon of a man.
  21. Yeah, we probably won't even be with Joma next season.
  22. Bazil vs Stu Dickson is the argument I thought I'd never want to witness. And I was right.
  23. Great shout. John McGinn's big arse dragging other players into play and creating havoc in both boxes would be my choice.
  24. Sum it up perfectly on Wednesday. Curtis Main last season would have missed that first half sitter, folk would have got on his back, head would have dropped and everyone would have been online calling him a f**king donkey. But he plugged away, never let his head drop at all and got his much deserved rewards from it - it was really pleasing to see on a personal level on top of the obvious St. Mirren aspect. Main this season just doesn't appear to be willing to let things going wrong get on top of him and the majority of fans have gone with him in that regard and appreciate what he's bringing. You still hear the odd mumble at games of 'you're f**king hopeless Main' but they are now mumbles rather than actual shouts as you feel any one shouting this would get roundly told to shut up. I'm happy for the guy as we all are. It takes some amount of turnaround to win round a support. I can't think of anyone who has done it on as massive a level since Tommy Turner's Lazarus routine. Maybe Mark Reilly as well but injury and his absence from the team back then really exposed what we missed without him in midfield, by time he was back, folk were like 'don't ever leave again'.
