Unbeaten this year in all competitions. Struggling to win tight games by all accounts. Failure to get promoted this year and I struggle to see a future down there for him.

I wouldn’t bother, seems like the kind of person that bases opinions off playing Championship Manager in his spare time. The Captain is the only midfielder we’ve had this season who puts in a tackle as you said. Clearly some expect him to be running around like some sort of superhero tracking every runner, whilst being a playmaker at the same time. I said we’d notice something horrifying when he wasn’t playing, this came to fruition at Dens in November.

Losing from a winning position isn’t really relevant. You don’t get less points for a comeback. Let’s see where we are at next month

Not great admittedly, but we’ve gave OK the window so let’s see where we are in February with signings bedded in and players back fit. Things do not look good but this is where we are at. Could sit here and point the finger all day - all 5 midfielders not tracking back, 2 young lads looked lost, finishing poor, tactics poor - doesn’t do any good.

Strange post. In Edwards video he was scoring goals, making tackles, making late runs from midfield - all things we never seen in black and white. Fair to say he looked okay in his video. I myself had seen him before and said he was a horrendous player. Just as most people who had seen him would say the same BUT if all we had to go on was YouTube videos (like this signing) then he would’ve looked like an ok addition. Less time on the internet for you and more time reading posts properly before responding in your usual arsey manner. Off you pop sir

They have millions to play with. We don’t. He was a good manager for us 15-10 years ago. Fantastic manager infact, however he left 9 years ago now because he had ran out of ideas. Much like your Jim Jeffries mould of manager - these guys no longer get jobs because times have changed. Time will tell in May. Nope. Tansey is a good player, and he did sign some stars in his first spell. Just throwing the point in that perhaps if it’s him doing the negotiations he doesn’t inspire these guys - entirely plausible. Garry Brady was never young nor fit when he was with us...

The very same, the one who also signed Mo Camara, Dennis Wyness, Tom Brighton etc. Two can play that game. ETA - very amusing seeing Gary Brady lumped in with that list of very good players... were you struggling for names?

If mid table Championship teams are pipping us to signings we are desperately waiting on then we really are up the creek without a paddle. Then again, are we surprised? Would a man who encouraged football supporters to go to the cinema for entertainment convince you to sign for a club who are now bottom of the table?

A half decent player against your run of the mill Premiership strikers but certainly not worth the time we wasted worrying about his decision, he done a lot of badge kissing and waving round about christmas time - clearly not 100% committed here IMO. Our waiting about has been made to seem even more ridiculous by us now not even starting him!

I agree with another poster in that IMO we are now far weaker, we haven’t addressed the issue at left back; our gaping defence has leaked 6 goals in 2 games; we’ve brought in one player to address the width issues so far (as a side note to those who reacted as if I was an imbecile for saying he probably wouldn’t be fit, why is he not starting?); and our strikeforce has no new bodies; we’ve also let go of our star player and only number 10 style player because we insist on playing flat banks of 4 or 5 at the back... going to be a big 6 days. I have no doubt it took a lot of effort to offload the duds. Alan Stubbs made a mess of recruitment, however, on the face of things we’re not doing much better this time around.

His legs have indeed gone, chances are he’ll be playing weekly against quicker players, so why did we wait so long on him?

Without doubt, quickly followed by a Left Back, and we spent way to long faffing about waiting on Ferdinand and now we’re not even starting him!

Oh for christ sake. You don’t need to be privvy to transfer negotiations to see that we are struggling big time with our negotiations. We were told we had a long list of targets all studied extensively all across Europe - quite clear to all that we are really scraping the barrell at this stage. ETA - I am not doubting the club are trying to bring in players... however, do you get paid on effort or do you need to be a little competent at your profession as well?

Indeed. Paper talk by the club and as I said months ago we are taking a stab in the dark and hoping for something similar to January 2017 - the main issue is we had an exceptional manager then.

There shouldn’t be a choice. We had 3 weeks without a game and were told Gus had been all over the place for months targetting players.

Admittedly a game we never expected anything from but watching any St Mirren team roll over like that is a disgrace. All this chat for months about giving OK time with his own team, he should be capable of coaching players to do basics at the bare minimum. We’re now entering into the territory of it no longer being Stubbs’ team and we are still making the same basic errors we were in September. Concerning. Finally, it’s time for 3/4 genuine quality players with a bit of fight - not faffing about with loan deals for Right Backs when we have 2 already (ironically 2 of our better players!)
