  1. I think you’ll get your wish with regards to a leftback. Eckerlsey looks as if he’s on his way out and it’s completely unfair to expect a 17 year old to play out of position there for almost a full season.
  2. A game we should never have lost but it was a ticking timebomb as the game went on. It should’ve been obvious to everyone in the ground how this script was playing out - unfortunately the players and manager had no idea how to alter their fortunes and grind out the point. Too many players not willing to run through a brick wall for the badge and that is unacceptable. Somewhat bewildering that Hammill is odds on first sub every week and today on potentially his most frustrating afternoon yet, he survived the 90 mins... Anyway, January draws ever closer and that looked like a goodbye to Anton, aswell as many more I have no doubt...
  3. Good result. In the last 8 or so games there has been signs of definite progress more often than not, sadly unable to grind out the points on a few occasions. Encouraging win today and January now only round the corner... onto St Johnstone.
  4. Harry Davis and Gavin Reilly both score within the space of 5 minutes.
  5. TopCat said it so you can pretty much guarantee that what he said is the opposite of what really happened, spin spin spin to suit his agenda. Lyness was fine last week - distribution okay considering playing into high winds and actually made some good saves. Could’ve maybe came out for the 2nd goal but understandably won’t have the confidence to do so yet coming into a team leaking goals.
  6. He played great against Celtic and Rangers, he is somewhat out of form and confidence currently and probably should be taken out of the firing line. I do find it ironic however that Cooke is hailed as the messiah and commended for ‘working hard’ to get back in the team... these same people then slaughter Edwards. If it was down to workrate Edwards would be first on teamsheet but it’s about far more than that.
  7. An interesting team. Many questions: Presumably MacPherson is injured? Edwards starting again... Hammill must be injured for him to be dropped over Jackson? No Eckersley?
  8. If it’s financially viable I can see us going for him. Played with McGinn and Flynn at Sheff United. Possibly a replacement for the departing Cammy Smith?
  9. No. Almost certain 2/3 you mention will still be here... however, if they leave it’ll be because the relevant staff at the club see them as surplus to requirements not because of ‘being hounded out by the boo boys’. Aside from this (excluding Edwards) the ‘boo boys’ give more stick to the likes of Baird and Mullen than the players you mentioned.
  10. The cull has began already. Matty Willock leaves Saints.
  11. I’d expect a few of Oran’s fellow countrymen to appear in January
  12. He fought his way back into plans and was on the bench vs Aberdeen at Pittodrie after his injury, he then disappeared and popped up for the reserves and by all accounts played well, he has since vanished again - seems like he was never fit at any stage earlier this season and never really managed to get himself fit. These are the questions our media team or Saints supporting journalists should be asking rather than the same old easy questions.
  13. So should we have beaten Hamilton then? Or is this another TopCat masterclass on idiocy? Aberdeen deserved to win, but the only stat that matters and shows they should’ve is the big one in bold at the top!
  14. We are a car crash of a team. Majority aren’t capable at this level and a good few don’t seem to care. Very telling that only Lyness, McGinn and Smith came over to at least thank the fans for braving the dross they served up. How do Edwards and Simeon Jackson play 90 minutes every week? Plus sides; Lyness made some very good saves, little shaky at some points but thrown in at the deep end and recovered. MacPherson and McGinn showed some good dig and are the only players who offer something other than square 5 yard or backwards passes. Hammill with another assist but ultimately a frustrating afternoon for him, hopefully not injured. Let’s pray he stays in January purely for his set pieces and moments of magic. Onto Boxing Day where we say cheerio to a number of that lot!
  15. Not much of a secret that Stubbs’ Plan A was Anthony Stokes, Plan B was Adam Rooney, and Plan C was... well, unfortunately we found that one out. Always wondered who was on Tommy Craig’s infamous list that he waved around at that Q&A however...
  16. He was going nowhere anyway, I know you and a few others have it in for Danny but can you really say you’ve seen us playing to his strengths once this year (or any of our strikers)? Only time I can think of is on Matchday 1 and he notched up a double.
  17. You make it sound so simple, I was beginning to wonder where half of our support were getting lost with the situation. Pirlo would struggle to carry the midfield that McGinn has to drag around at his feet most weeks. As you said only him and Magennis have turned up this season - and Magennis has spent most of it injured or having to play wide! First thing in January has to be to get in a dominant defensive centre mid and stick him infront of the back 4, go to 5 in the middle and when fit play McGinn and Magennis - allowing them to do what they’re good at effectively.
  18. Samson’s cult hero status clouded many’s vision on him, he certainly had his faults. Having said that our problems run far, far deeper than our Goalkeeper, or indeed playing Ryan Edwards as you keep rattling on about in almost every post.
  19. Well he’s on loan from Aberdeen and loan contracts usually state a player can’t play against his parent club... so yes.
  20. There is absolutely no chance in hell the board will stick. I would also say there is little chance Accies will fall below 10th by May, they’re a club geared up to finish there every year and they usually achieve it.
  21. If we were basing our selections off that game we’d be out on Greenhill Road at 2pm every other Saturday asking who has boots.
  22. Perhaps, perhaps not. He at least deserves a window.
  23. Nice try but no cigar as none of them were Allan Stubbs. In any case, Livingston never allowed their previous manager to sign a plethora of lower league duds (instead they signed a handful of decent improvements to the squad) before being shipped out the door, unfortunately we did.
