Kendo
To hell with the 888 proposal the play off spot thingy that Aberdeen were so pissed off at is the way to go. What a fantastic and exciting end to the season. We have a wonderful chairman who has foresight.

Stuart Dickson
To hell with the 888 proposal the play off spot thingy that Aberdeen were so pissed off at is the way to go. What a fantastic and exciting end to the season. We have a wonderful chairman who has foresight. Firstly, if I remember correctly Gilmour was keen on the 888 proposal, infact so much so he enthused about it in that room of 15 at the infamous Rangers meeting at Greenhill Road. I don't think his position was ever that the status quo should be kept with a play off spot added. So he should be exempted from blame. Secondly, this league set up is still a pile of shite. It certainly hasn't delivered what fans wanted. We still have this ridiculous league split, there's still repetition with up to four league matches per season against the same opposition, and there's no guarantee of anything other than one newcomer to the top flight which again wasn't what the fans wanted. In the current league table five of the teams playing in the bottom six are playing for nothing more or less than the opportunity to play in a money spinning play off final against one of the top four sides from the First Division and if they lose we could face the ridiculous situation of having a side that were only fourth best in the First Division coming up to the top flight ahead of teams who have been more consistent all season long. A look at the excitement and drama of the English leagues should show us where we could have been at if the fans had been listened to. It's been excellent down there all season in all four divisions. Even to the extend that one side relegated out of the Football League will most likely have earned over 50 points and still not found safety.
