stlucifer
I think the term "Brexit" should be ditched. Since a major part of those affected won't have a proper say in the process. This divorce is going to cost Scotland millions. It will directly affect devolved responsibilities therefore it's astounding that the Scottish Parliament won't have a meaningful part to play. When we embarked on this European endeavour there was no devolved powers so, with their inception, anything affecting this should be debated and decided, in part at least, by those parliaments. Perhaps it could be renamed "EWexit". After all. The Tories appear to be following UKIP like sheep. It will cost London even more millions and there are more Londoners than Scots, so even more of them will be disenfranchised by the exit process. It's not ALL about Scotland, you know... Guest TPAFKATS
We were taken into the EEC using prerogative powers by Heath. The court case was already irrelevant as parliament had voted in December to agree to trigger article 50 by the end of May deadline. The only useful thing we learned yesterday was that the SNP bid to have the devolved assemblies being able to veto was dismissed unanimously. Other than that, we will be triggering article 50 and starting the process of leaving on the PMs timetable. No that can't be true - we were told that Scotland was getting wonderful powers, making us the most devolved parliament in the world? As close to federalism as you can get, etc, etc
