Aberdeen - was it a cup semi ?

Aye.

Scottish Cup Semi 1970

Aberdeen 1 Killie 0

Scorer - Derek ' Cup Tie' McKay

Crowd - At least 25000, so I was told.

Aberdeen beat Celtic in the Final 3-1.

McKay scoring 2 and Wee Fat Joe with the other from a penalty.

I went to 1 of those games with my late brother in law many many years ago and it was mental. Around 9 yellows cards, plenty of abused flying in every direction and there was even a guy who was getting married later in the day giving the verbal abuse to the Leck supporters with his wedding suit on   A Cumnock committee guy was also giving the come on to them since they were calling him a fat baldy bastard  (they were right on at least 2 of their opinion)    Brother in law said later it was a quite game and maybe the next time I come they will be more action
