It certainly is going to be a huge challenge. Some (supposed )sensible posters over on P&B showing discontent before he is even announced. A lot of stamping of feet but no real other options offered.  It has been rumoured we want to start heading down playing our own youth again, which I am delighted about as the brief glimpses of Douglas and Falconer looked very promising.    

I think the guy should be given a chance.,Stubbs was a name, he’s now one of the most despised Saints Managers ever. Tommy Craig, useless. Ian Murray, useless. We’ll see more youth players with McLeish and I’d rather a team full of youngsters than journeymen. Robbo was a brilliant Manager, I’ll never forget that but last season went badly wrong after the League Cup. McLeish needs time and support and those that support the team should give it. A guy on here, 75 saying he won’t renew his season ticket. Is he honestly saying that this appointment is worse than the endless dross of the 90’s when I was a season ticket holder??? That really was desperate and we nearly went under. Too early for knicker wetting.

He's got a big job ahead of him, no doubt.  My worry is we don't have a great league Cup start, which we are notorious for, and McLeish gets the hounds on his back.
