  1. Harry Davis is a good player. JR offered him a contract knowing he would spend half a season out injured and that loyalty is now being repaid with him back in the team. But to suggest he was the reason St Mirren managed the great escape is nonsense! He played SIX games was injured on March 15 and missed the last 8 games of the season where St Mirren lost only 1 game (away to Dundee United)
  2. I thought Stelios had a wonderful first half and was very unlucky not to score but when Mulraney came on he struggled to cope with his pace. A fantastic squad player but a fit Ekersley starts in front of him. Some outstanding performaces today, and 5 or 6 players who could have been MoM. McGinn ran the show but Inverness let him get his head up and gave him time on the ball especially in the first half. That's asking for trouble as he has real quality. Magennis is now getting back to the form and fitness he showed during the great escape and would not have argued with anyone making him MoM. Jack Baird did not put a foot wrong and was certainly a MoM contender, Davies continues to improve with every match, and if there is a better right back in the division than Smith I have not seen him yet. Morgan, Smith and Reilly are perpetual motion and will give any defence problems. We are not 6 points clear at the top for nothing you know!! In another thread I questioned Dundee Uniteds bottle and with presure mounting on them I think this could become a factor. The majority of this team, and the management, handled enormous pressure during the great escape and although there will be bad days at the office between now and the end of the season I think in terms of guts, character and bottle we have a big advantage over United. COYS!!
  3. Trumpesque I do wish people would stop quoting this attention seeking loser. I have him on ignore and therefore do not need to wade through endless brainless posts like the one above. The forum is a far more enjoyable place with him on ignore, as I am sure most of the forum can confirm.
  4. The fact that it has taken until now to get a negative comment about Jack says how far he has come. I was expecting him to get dogs abuse as he appears to be at fault for the goal. Jack Baird was outstanding during the great escape and I would go as far as to say he has been our most consistent perfomer this season. At only 21 he has over 100 appearances for the club so he is doing something right. Thankfully Jack Ross doesn't appear to agree with your opinion on his defending.
  5. Inverness will bring next to nothing as usual. So sadly there is no chance of over 5000 never mind 7!
  6. FFS Guys its a mans game and a derby! Such blinkered views do you no credit at all. I thought Clancy's performance was one of the better ones I have seen this season.
  7. They had rest at the weekend and it showed. We just could not keep the ball second half and kept giving them it back. Some very tired looking second half performances. Can have no complaints with a point certainly did not deserve any more.
  8. All about opinions but mine is it is a straight red. Nasty challenge and if it was any United player on Magennis everyone on here would be looking for them to be sent off. That said McMullen has the heart of a smartie and has gone to ground because he didnt fancy a 50/50 with Kyle. He didn't kick another ball in the match after being a real danger in the opening minutes getting past Stelios with ease. Result all round but we got away with one.
  9. That is one area that worried me as McMullen got the better of him a few times in the early stages. However after Magennis clattered him he never kicked another ball.
  10. NOTHING TO CELEBRATE!!! Only on this forum!!! And if you win the lottery this week I'm sure you'll be on here saying how terrible it is because the big jackpot was won last week!! Have a very happy New Year Wilbur
  11. One thing you can not say about this team is they choke! Have they had off days? Yes. But from the Great Escape till now this team have shown great character, great bottle and are certainly able to handle pressure. All the pressure is on Dundee United, as with their budget they should win this league. The question is can they handle it? Time will tell.
  12. Only on black and white army could we get a negative going top of the league. What a dick!!!!
  13. I have seen some bad refereeing in my time but this will rank amongst the most bizarre. Dunfermline Goalkeeper should surely have been sent off first half! Then in the second half in one incident he first gave a corner to Dunfermline then a penalty to Dunfermline and finally a free kick to St Mirren!!! Unbelievable!! Anyway rode our luck a little in second half but were well worth our lead in the first. Another great 3 points. Onwards and upwards
  14. Did he give an interview? Looks like quotes from statements giving at the fatal accident enquiry at Stockport Court? It’s terribly sad news, heart goes out to everyone close to them. Only someone not very bright (luckily I have him on ignore) or who did not read the story properly woulld realise the story and quotes came from a hearing. Does not excuse the Suns original headline though.
  15. Updated at 904 the phrase WAG taken off online. They clearly know that common decency has been overlooked. Too late. I will never buy the Sun again and will NEVER go on their website. Saints fans and decent people all over the country will make their own minds up.
  16. Do not buy the Sun and will now never click on the website. Disgraceful. The use of the word WAG is unforgivable in the circumstances even if you think the story is newsworthy.
  17. So were Kenny Dalglish , Scott Brown etc , that doesn't matter a jot . Luckily I have him on ignore so don't need to read his nonsense. Perpetuating the myth that you've got to be one or the other if you stay in the West of Scotland is sad beyond words. Maybe someone could tell him it's 2017!
  18. So we have gone from having to beat Dumbarton to win the league to having to win ALL your home games. Why do you keep digging a bigger hole for yourself? Hibs won the league last season easily and dropped points at home to both teams that were relegated! The notion that a team like St Mirren are going to be on the money every week is absurd. Even the very best teams have off days. Our record against Dumbarton is terrible so I doubt if many went to the game expecting us to win easily. This team will be there or there abouts come the end of the season. When you consider where we were this time last year it's nothing short of remarkable. Some people have short memories and unrealistic expectations.
  19. I didn't miss your compliment. So standing by what you wrote you don't think St Mirren, Dundee United or Dunfermline will win the league because they have all dropped points against Dumbarton!? Ludicrous. You will get great odds betting on the Champions not being one of these 3!! Dumbarton have lost 5 league games this season, only one more than us. And Hibs won the league out the park last year..... guess who they dropped points to.
  20. No you don't. Both Dundee United and Dunfermline have failed to beat Dumbarton at home this season so you've just used an old cliche without actually thinking.
  21. McIness is a highly overated manager. He won the 1st Division with St Johnstone almost 10 year ago and the league cup with Aberdeen in 13/14 and was a complete flop at Bristol City. His win ratios are 40% with St Johnstone 27% with Bristol and 58% with Aberdeen. Aberdeen record sounds not too bad but when you consider he has managed without a strong Hibs Hearts and Rangers ( with a budget the rest of the SPL could only dream of) and his team blow nearly every big game they play its not great. Jack Ross wiil get a step up at some point, thats for sure. He's young ambitious and clearly has something. Chill and enjoy while we still have him.
  22. End of story really. Up to group to convince board it will not happen again and see if ban can be shortened. If not lets all just get on with supporting the team. COYS
  23. We do live in a world these days when it's almost impossible to do or say anything without some poor wee sole being offended. That said the group seem to acknowledge they knew the banner would not go down well with the club so why risk the conflict in the first place. The club I assume will have good reason to come to the decision they have and while I agree the section has helped enormously with the atmosphere at the stadium the tail can not wag the dog! Talk of boycotts or silence is immature and foolish. No one wins in that situation. Dialogue is the best way forward, so I hope both parties can get together and sort a compromise. This should not be allowed to derail what has so far been a great season or change the feelgood factor and relationship that exisits just now between the team and supporters. COYS.
  24. Not really spelling. More grammar. Very very basic grammar.
