  1. Why the concern for Lennon? Major trophy, highest league finish in a thousand years. There will obviously be a queue of clubs waiting to snatch him. We're lucky to have held on to him this long...
  2. Where does the post I quoted say that? Other than a dotted line then I can't see it anywhere. Your post is about DL's 'signing policy' - there is no mention of promoting players from the youth system. DL didn't sign these players - whoever took over as St. Mirren manager would have had access to these very same players. Indeed, whoever took over would also have had access to the lad Slater who is now a first team regular at Kilmarnock. And Marc McAusland wasn't promoted from the youth team to the first team by DL - he was signed from QoS - which totally contradicts your backtracking about whatthe dotted line means.
  3. I'm always amazed by comments such as this. The club spends all of its income every season. There is never anything left over. What exactly do you mean by 'proper funding' if the club is already spending every single bit of income it receives?
  4. McLean, McGinn, Naismith & Kelly were already St. Mirren players before Lennon arrived.
  5. Then again, look at the guys who made it big. Ricky Gillies' move to AC Milan for example...
  6. I would imagine the BoD will be more concerned with the deal to sell the club! Its the new owners who will decide who the manager is!
  7. 7th place? I reckon we may well still finish 10th and even then, saved from 11th spot only by Hearts 15 point deduction... and that's without factoring in the absence of Rangers. Fact is that last season was our worst non Old Firm top flight finish in 40 years. This season's finish may well be even worse. Danny Lennon is clueless - and so everyone who supports him! GIRUY.
  8. Gus Macpherson delivered 2 highest league finishes in a generation, first cup final in a generation, first Scottish Cup semi final in a generation, survival in the top flight for the first time in a generation, first win over Rangers in a generation, first win over Celtic in a generation, biggest league win over Celtic for many generations... And from a starting point of a 3rd successive battle against relegation to the Second Division, £ 3 million debt and no training facilities. We need some consistency in the arguments here...
  9. I made these points when Gus Mapherson - but they were almost universally shot down by everyone on this forum. So I'm sorry, all of this can be ignored. The hypocrites have set the agenda - no backtracking now.
  10. When Danny Lennon became manager of St. Mirren we had just finished in our highest league position in 20 years. IF we finish in our highest league finish in 25 years after another 4 years then it ain't exactly that big an achievement!
  11. Sorry, but not up on text speak! I'm too old. GIRUY! Just to emphasis the point... This is our LOWEST ever Premiership finish. We sacked Gus Macp after achieving our then highest ever SPL finish! According to the logic of the hypocrites - and most of the Danny fans were Gus haters - then Lennon must go! They set the criteria!
  12. Sorry, but you have started it! I'm quite sure you are one of the hypocrites!
  13. As this is the first ever season of the Premiership, you could also say that this is our LOWEST ever league position... We sacked Gus Macpherson after our then highest ever SPL position - and he had a much inferior starting position - so the hypocrites can't have it both ways!
  14. As for getting a government in power that "Scotland" votes for then that is irrelevant to me personally. What I want to see if a government in power I personally voted for. I voted Conservative - and they are doing a brilliant job - so I'm more than happy to vote no!
  15. Deary me. Leaving out the Scottish votes at the last general election, the Tories would have won outright and wouldn't have needed a coalition and Labour wouldn't have won in 1964 or 1974 without Scottish votes.
  16. Indeed, totally agree. The SNP's personal attacks are a disgrace.
  17. And? If there is a no vote then that means that Scotland won't have asked for independence. Are there any countries that didn't want independence regretted getting it?
  18. Some incredible posts here! 26 people were killed on Bloody Sunday - all of them unarmed, most either running away from the soldiers, crawling or lying on the ground, some were shot in the back. Not a single British Army soldier was killed or injured. I'm certainly not an aologist for the IRA or Irish nationalists, but these are facts. There is no justification for shooting unarmed civilians running away!
  19. Even by your standards, this is quite a nonsensical post!
  20. The reason the BoD have so many shares is that they unwrote 2 shares issues to existing sharesholders and fans - both of which ended up with virtually nil take up...
  21. Indeed. His starting point was a third successive battle against relegation to the Second Division, £3 million debt and no training facilities. Lennon's starting point was our highest league finish in over 20 years, no debt and brand new training facilities.
  22. Why would someone tell me something that I can read for myself?
  23. er, but we finished above Gretna... indeed we also finished above Kilmarnock that season. We only ever finished above Rangers once in over 100 seasons.
