  1. Killie in for May now, so imagine the draw of European football might swing it.... wait a minute.
  2. Sounds like another poor performance, but at the end of the day, well done to Goodie for his first win and Oan for his first Saints goal.
  3. Remember being filled with optimism after that Killie game. Also think I remember one of the BT commentators suggesting we should be looking at top 6. How wrong and naive we were.
  4. Not sure the Fakes have finished in the transfer market yet from what their chairman says. “To assemble the squad we currently have, the club has already exceeded the set budget for the 2019/20 season. “However, just as we did in January with Michael O’Halloran, we are prepared to go that extra mile to make a serious attempt in bringing Stevie back to St Johnstone.” You have to admit that St Johnstone are an established Scottish Premier team and are a well run club who we could learn from, especially given their low attendances.
  5. This was online a while ago and would probably keep most Saints fans happy.
  6. Just in, seems a much longer drive home after a defeat like that. First half was absolutely shocking and second slightly better. I’m a big S McGinn fan, but he was a real worry today, struggled badly and doesn’t have the legs anymore. Before the game we were discussing Erhahon being a weak link at left-back. He’s only young, but why play him there when it’s not his position. His confidence must’ve taken a hammering today, as he’s clearly not ready. Cooke took his goal well and Djorkaeff looked promising when he came on, but it’s clear than Goodwin needs backing to strengthen big time. You do get strange results in these early League Cup games, so hopefully we can scrape through and qualify. On a positive, on the road home we drove past all the Orcs spilling out of Ibrox and it reminded me to be grateful that we’re not like them.
  7. This is shaping up to be the worst managerial debut I can remember.
  8. Can’t believe how flat and unfit we look. Lack of pace right through the team is shocking. And it’s 3
  9. From the 45 mins we saw of him against part timers the other night he looks busy, full of energy, with a good touch and great attitude. He reminded me of Cammy Smith, but hopefully he’ll achieve more in the top flight with us. Good luck Oan and welcome to the Buddies.
  10. I’d be pleased with 10th and another year to consolidate in the top flight with Goodie at the helm... sorry Fitzy.
  11. Polish 6’3” centre half and Czech left back. Interesting.
  12. Yeh, that looks like him. Could ping a pass, but was easily turned a couple of times and didn’t look too solid defensively. Hard to judge him on a 45 minute trial, playing with defenders he doesn’t know though.
  13. “Listen..”, at the start of a sentence. Seems to be an Irish thing and big Goodie uses it too. To be fair, he doesn’t need to say it, as you’d listen to what he’s saying anyway.
  14. It’s a strange interview from Gordon Scott that has contradictions in it. Saying Kearney wanted to stay, but it was the worst kept secret that he was definitely going back to Coleraine. It’s clear that Scott and Kearney had a major fallout, but I doubt we’ll ever find out the absolute truth. You could speculate that there were faults on both sides, but the truth we know is that It’s been poor preparation and as Scott says, has put us behind where we want to be in the signing of players. Hopefully we have strengthened before the Dunfermline game as we are thin on quality, especially at the back. Goodie said in his interview that the fans shouldn’t panic as there’s plenty of time left in the window. Fingers crossed.
  15. Interesting to see all the trialists tonight, but disappointing at the same time. None of them particularly stood out, but neither did any of our first team regulars against a division 2 team. Preseason friendlies are normally pretty mundane affairs. Djorkaeff was busy and industrious, but could have got better final balls in and the big CB in the second half(22) looked good on the ball, but could’ve defended better. Wee holding midfielder(16) had a great touch, but would need to see more of him. Rest were nothing to write home about. There’s a lot of focus on Hladky at the moment and when he was called into action he was excellent again. He really is a class act. We’ve hopefully got something a lot better in the pipeline than the trialists on show tonight. Can’t read too much into the game, but great to see Goodie in his Saints trackie standing at our dugout.
  16. Move of the game there, no 22? CB started sweeping move with great pass. Cooke fluffed a tap in at back post.
  17. 0-0 HT. Djorkaef has looked lively and the best of the trialists. French guy on right wing looks quick and put in a couple of ok crosses, but nothing special. Big Francillette went on good run into the box and had a header on target, but keeps losing possession. Andreu has looked ok on the ball and smashed a 20 yard free kick into the wall. Hladky has looked our most confident player.
  18. Looks about 6’4” and athletic, just a bit crap at football on his showing so far.
  19. Liked the look of the big lad Francillette before ko, but shaky at leftback.
  20. Imagine he’d be on a fair wedge at the Dons. He is an absolute joke figure up there with the fans now, but be very surprised if we got him. Remember a game at Perth when he was running the show for the Fakes against us and a frustrated Buddies fan stood up and shouted, “Status Quo are f*ckin sh*te!!” at him. Even he laughed.
