It doesn't really matter if the authorities allow them to claim the history or not. Rangers fc is in liquidation and the new club only has history going back to 2012. That is a fact and no amount of whataboutery will change that. The presence of the old firm is a cancer not just in Scottish football but in society in general. What rangers fc did is one of the greatest ever scandals in sporting history. If we 'move on' then they will have got away with it. We cannot and should not allow these people to trample all over us. We have to stand up to them. The history and the trophies mean everything to them. We must never ever let them forget that their club is dead and what they have now is nothing more than a tribute act that has won nothing.

I really hate these phrases "lets wait and see" and "lets judge him on the park". They invariably come from the folk who were saying the same things last season after the appointment of Tommy Craig and after each of his signings! The "football side of things" and the "business entity" were one and the same thing. The business was football. Rangers are in liquidation and no amount of whataboutery from people like yourself will change that. That is a fact that cannot be got around. A brand new club was founded in 2012, they bought the assets of the club that is in liquidation, they applied to join the Scottish Football League and they began in the Third Division. With regards to being bitter and having a massive chip on my shoulder then you are totally correct. I am completely bitter and I do have a massive chip on my shoulder. I absolutely hate the Old Firm, completely and utterly. But the fact that I am bitter makes no difference either. The fact is that Rangers are in liquidation. They died as a direct result of their own cheating. They put themselves out the game. Their own supporters supported the cheating, they defended it and they did nothing to save their club. These are all indisputable facts. Their own supporters held a demonstration against liquidation in the last ever Rangers v St. Mirren game at Ibrox. They held a red card to liquidation display. The reason being that they knew that liquidation would mean a brand new club with no history. The club operating out of Ibrox today was founded in 2012 and has won no major trophies.

To be fair billy, I don't understand your point either. rabuddies is correct. The accounts every year quite clearly show that the club spends all available income. Its not about the amount of money that we have been spending its been about how its been spent. and wasted.

I'm open minded. The standard in the Championship is rank. Guys like Lyle & Buchanan were amongst the top scorers FFS. Gow may be able to do a turn.

I see that David Barron only made 1 sub appearance at Greenock Juniors. If he had been playing in the juniors regularly then I could understand him trying to make a comeback but if he hasn't been playing then why not? A fit David Barron would be an excellent player. Can play anywhere in the back 4 and defensive midfield. Despite his versatility, when he was fit he would always have been one of the first names I would have put on the teamsheet - any of the positions noted above. I really can't see him coming back though.

I actually wondered if we'd be interested in Buchanan. He's still only 31 and was one of the Championship's top scorers last season with struggling Alloa. Derek Lyle was also one of the top scorers in this division last season so it sort of shows the standard. Buchanan has a decent record and with a better team he could maybe bag 15. A partnership with Steven Thompson should be good enough to get us into the play offs?
