Miller was a midfielder so I wouldn't rule him out
-
Keatings was in the press this year talking about his battle with depression. Would suggest the last thing he needs is to sign for us.
-
Story seems to be that Livvy wanted him to stop playing and concentrate on management. Have to assume he wasn't impressing in the pitch or they would have been happy for him to continue in the dual role.

If we sell out the South stand to OF fans 3 times and if every ticket sold is a full price adult ticket and if there are no increased policing and stewarding costs then we'll take in under £120k. This doesn't factor in the loss of selling cheaper South stand season tickets. No chance that we'll make £200k+.

Can't see what this type of speculation has to do with the speculation thread. Please move to the Rangers matchday thread.

Vast majority of Celtic players on £10-£12k a week with only the likes of Brown, Dembele, Sinclair and Edouard on over £20k a week. If as reported Celtic did offer John £23k a week then they must have been desperate to get him. As you say the business side blundered.
-
Called plenty of things wrong myself. Celtic clearly thought John didn't want to play for anyone but them. Nice to see them getting stung for being cheapskates. Having said that they did pay £1.5m for Ciftci so they don't always rip off other Scottish clubs

Suspect Celtic might be in charge of this situation...

If there's add-ons for Hibs such as £1 million for promotion do we get a share? Would represent profit for Hibs so should be a share for us but guess it depends on the exact wording of the deal we made.

And a complete knob

Stubbs might think the players should forget about last season but I be he didn't forget to mention winning the Scottish Cup at his interview.
-
Looking at their records makes you wonder why Stubbs did think the trialists were worth a go. FFS Nabi is 24 and has only ever played 25 games. We now appear to be scraping the barrel for players which is really concerning. Even if Celtic do decide to loan out Mikey Johnstone is there any guarantee we will get him?

St. Mirren v Sunderland, friendly 21/7/18
andrew87 replied to Eric Arthur Blair's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Think very few fans including myself expected Jack to be here next season. If it wasn't Sunderland it would have been Ipswich and if it wasn't Ipswich it would have been someone else. I also don't think most begrudge him the opportunity that Sunderland offered. However I think the manner of his departure did leave a bitter taste. -
Signed a 2 year contract with Wycombe in April.
-
Hibs are effectively trying to hold a gun to Celtics head. If Celtic don't make a 3rd bid before kick-off tomorrow then it looks like they'll wait for McGinn to run down his contract.

As far as I'm concerned the Scottish top flight is the Scottish top flight. To say Kris Boyd's goals scored in the SPL don't count because the tournament had a different name is a ridiculous argument. By this rationale Celtic have only won the league 5 years in a row not 7. Good as Doolan has been for Partick he's no McCoist, Larsson or John Robertson. He's not even at the same level as Tommy Coyne or Billy Dodds.
-
I stand corrected as he is the 3rd highest scorer since the top flight was re-branded as the Premiership. What I would say is that he seems to have played week in week out for a team that has been in the top flight since it became the Premiership. Teams such as Motherwell have had good goalscorers but they haven't stuck around for 5 years. Not a criticism of Doolan at all as he has been a great player for you but undoubtedly a factor in this statistic
-
Is 3rd best based on goals per game? Appreciate it's not always accurate but Wikipedia has him with 54 premier goals which doesn't get him in the top 10 premier scorers. I reckon some people are concerned at his age and whether he's past his best. What's your thoughts?

Feel sorry for the four that they weren't told they could leave sooner. Most Championship clubs have been pretty active in the market so they might struggle to get a decent gig

McCoist might have been new to management but was paying players £7k a week to play against part-timers. If McCoist was being interviewed then we might as well interview Dick Campbell as well. He's won more with Brechin and Arbroath than Ally did with Rangers. By the way I really don't think we should appoint Dick Campbell. Sent from my SM-J530F using Black & White Army mobile app

Stubbs and Caldwell's successful spells were with bigger sides at lower levels where they would have bigger budgets than a lot of their opponents. When they were working with smaller budgets than their opponents they flopped. Sent from my SM-J530F using Black & White Army mobile app

He thinks McCoist would be a good choice. On this basis I wouldn't trust his judgement too much.
