Kombibuddie got a reaction from Vambo57 in 1877 Club
The sums just don't stack up & folk are guessing how many members there actually are.
Early on in this thread, it was stated 200 for a venue with a capacity of 220. There is a lot more than that.
Folk are hazarding guesses in excess of 200 members but nobody seems to know for sure. Perhaps someone who knows Alan Wardrop (as he was the figurehead of this project) could ask him to clarify unless it is a bit of a secret society.
Everyone had the same chance to sign up to it and as Div pointed out, the 1877 Club has a guaranteed income every month that can/will service the £35K builders bill. It won't take too long to pay that off.
A minimum of 235 Founders Member subscriptions at £50 each (Season Ticket Holders price)  should have realised £11750 and a minimum of £60 for 1 non ST founder member should have brought in a total of £11810.
At least 236 members paying £10 per month will have brought in a further £11180 over the past 5 months will have helped realise a grand total of £23550. Unless there are some sausage roll thieves being given honorary memberships (as a member, I am not awrae of any so assume the figures of what I expect to be correct. That is, If I am member 236, there are 235 others wh paid at least £50 Founder fee & continuing to pay £10 per month too) and not paying a bean, the builders costs should be repaid by Christmas.
That all said, an email from the Fans Council months ago, declared membership was fully subscribed. It is documented in their minutes that aim was 300 members. I fully expect that "fully subscribed" means 300 members which, realises very different figures.
299 @ a minimum of £50 (St Holders) member + 1 (non ST Holder) at £60 (me) brought in £15010. Add that to 300 members paying £10 per month (£3k per month) is another £15000 which totals £30010. If this is the case, that £35K will be paid off by October. Not long to go.
That is also assuming there has been no additional income from lettings however, I would hope that the Fans Council secured that any letting fees went towards the build costs until the debt was repaid.

I can see a "why should they" argument brewing.
I have absolutely no objections to opening up as a 1st come 1st served basis and 1 out 1 in policy when the place is rammed. I was surprised to read that Campbell Kennedy is in charge of the bar the supporters founded and are funding. This a development that I do not agree with (that is that it is his position that is now apparently in charge, not the man himself)
The 1877 Club, as far as I believed was a Fans initiative and perhaps I naively expected, the Fans Council to remain "in charge" of the Supporters Club they took the initiative on & had built. The lettings and fundraising events should be managed by the FC (or SMISA) and any profits, presented to St Mirren for specific projects.

Mind you, for the money I am paying, I expect to be invited to the AGM and to be given adequate notice so that I can arrange time off work & get up to it from London. Then I will expect to get the true figures of what is what If, they are not clarified before then.
    Cheers

As far as I'm aware the names of all the founder members are on a big board in the 1877 club.
    Not very secretive.
Maybe someone could nip in and count them.
    It'll cost a non-member £6 though.

Just assumed it was, is it not? What happened to Chester, did they do a 1/2 Ranger?  They went bust & had the courtesy to stay bust?
There are quite a few "non league teams paying players around £500 per week. They'll fancy a piece of the finances that can be had by being a "League Club" The League & FA cup might differ slightly due to an increase in eligible clubs. League Cup, I suspect would have a qualifying round to get to the current constitution and Div 5 Teams entering the FA cup in the advanced stages of the FA qualifying rounds.
I suspect , the likes of Dagenham, Tranmere & all that will fancy the quickest route back to the league that they can get.

at a time when football attendences are on the decline, the EFL talks about expanding the league?? The teams are there though.
The "clubs themselves" will be the conversion on the National League (formerly Vanarama/Vauxhall Conference) into the new division and they're trying to give it credence by sound biting the 2 behemoths from Glasgow.
There are enough clubs now in the National Leagues to make this happen.
At least 8 of the current 24 teams in the national League have been in the football league previously. The likes of Chester, York & Torquay have never got a sniff of promotion & I suspect, would jump at the chance, along with Dagenham & Tranmere Rovers. There's at least another 5 or so in National League North along with a couple of teams in NL South who would fancy their chances if fast tracked into League 3 (Division 5).
If Rankers & Septic were seriously considered and they did go south, it must be on the condition that they do not have a reserve/colt side in the Scottish league at all. One or the other, not both.

The folk who wrote that article, do they have anything to do with the 1877 Club membership & finances. The figures don't stack up.
    Target was 20%
    Mortality Rates drop by 4.5%
    Missed target by 3.5%
there appears to be 12% missing
so they've adjusted their target & cut it in half so they can achieve "strong figures". This is unlikely to help though

anyways, back to the abomination of a hospital that is, The RAH.
Identified as 1 of 2 hospitals in Scotland of having higher than average death rates. Very best of luck if you ever find yourself an inpatient there. it is likely that you will need it. The nursing staff I encountered were pleasant enough people but most seemed to have a default setting of get back to the staff room for a natter as quickly as possible.

Paracetamol acts as an antipyretic (reduces body temperature) & by taking it (& not declaring she had taken it) she knowingly deceived the Public Health folk as the temperature recorded was not a true picture due to being chemically altered.

By doing so, she endangered public health & will do well to get off with a big slap on the wrist. She'll need to have some convincing story to avoid being struck off.

SPS states a capacity of 220 with 200 members signed up and 1877SMFC states over 200 supporters signed up
There must be someone on the forum who knows exactly what the deal with the 1877 Club is.
How many founder members paid the founder member fee? How much was realised from the founders fee?
how many members? how much is realised from monthly subscriptions?
what was the build cost & how much debt is still owed?
    what are the payment terms?
to me, the facts/figures at this moment in time do not appear to stack up.

How would monies owed to tradesmen have any effect on how the bar is run and who is let in.
The bottom line of getting paid is usually what a tradesman is most interested in & I doubt there'll have been any agreement of "we'll do this" or "we'll build that" "but you can't alter your entry criteria until we get paid"

but lets go along with it, it is the case and as you suggested earlier, a club employee is the go to person, will Campbell Kennedy be able to explain who is owed what & what the payment terms are?

You describe it as a members club. Members pay subscriptions and a joining fee. Ok, so wheres the club constitution? Who is on the commitee? Who are the office bearers - chairman, secretary and treasurer? When is the AGM? And how do the members of the club go about selecting what brewery is used, or on setting the prices charged for a pint, or indeed changing the terms of admission?

Now things have apparently worked out regarding SMFC Ltd ownership the biggest problem with the members club seems to be that it's running way below capacity and not fulfilling it's potential as a revenue raiser for the football business with the biggest chain around its neck being the debt the Fans Council took on and on the terms they used to repay that debt.

I'm not arguing it was a bad deal for SMFC Ltd. They've had the equivalent of someone paying to convert their attic into a living space in return for the opportunity to charge you to boil their kettle for a few hours a week. I just question the nous of the kind of person who would agree to those terms particularly at a time when the club was up for sale with the owners threatening to sell to bizarre consortiums from all around the world who's motives for buying the club may well have been questionable.

I've been following this thread with interest. Pettiness and sniping aside there are some valid points being made and questions being asked. It should lead to a proper discussion on the long term validity and profitability of a "fans" bar.
i would like therefore to give you my own take on my first Paisley match day experience in 3 years.
Having being caught up in the nostalgia of Buy the Buds and feeling I was doing my bit and feeling like I have reconnected with the club I took the decision to travel up from Warrington with a mate and take my Dad to the game. Getting caught up in the buzz of social media I was convinced I'd have to leave my folks house early to get 3 tickets in the West stand together!!!
we arrived at the ground at 1-15 and headed to the ticket office beside the club shop ( where even if I wanted to I couldn't have purchased a replica top ) - so none of my hard earned cash going into the club coffers!
i was bemused that at the main ticket office I couldn't purchase a ticket for the West Stand and would in fact have to walk round the ground to buy a ticket there.
This is when I passed the entrance to the 1877 club - I was fairly sure it was members but thought I'd rembered reading online that there was some first come first served walk ups available for a nominal £2 entry fee.
i spoke politely to the lad on the door - explained we had travelled up from Warrington and that me and mate fancied a few pre match pints and my elderly dad wanted a cup of tea!
No joy - canne come in - members only etc etc! - I get it - that's not my issue or complaint - the irony is only a few moments earlier someone had tweeted only 40 people in the 1877 club.
Just suppossing we had paid a few quid to get in - in the 90 mins prior to ko I reckon me and my mate would have managed 3 pints - my dad would have had a cuppa and a wee hauf so n total probably something in the region of £30 quid going into the coffers including entrance.
After we had collected our tickets I spoke to a very helpful steward at the gate at the corner of the Hospitality entrance he was kind enough to grant us access through the large gate to get a picture taken beside the pitch.  He suggested heading up West Street towards the local hosteleries
we found ourself outside the Craigielea bar where we were welcomed in with no problems. The pub didn't do cups of tea but the woman behind the bar kindly used the staff kettle and made a cup for my dad at no charge.
we stayed for a few drinks then set off down the hill about 2-35pm
on arrival at the ground we entered via West 5 and our seats were directly in front of the lads with the banners. They were in great voice and spirits were high!
ive read many times about Shull complaining about the tannoy - Christ he is right - it was useless and completely muffled and in effective - it needs sorting Asap
St Mirrens slow start to the game and going a goal down was a disappointment. I'm not sure what Alex Rae's plan A was but at least going 3-4-3in  the 2nd half suggested there was a plan B. I commented on the match day thread mid match about how aimless and in the air our play was. My Everton supporting pal and I both agreed it was bout the standard of watching Warrington Town who play in the 8th tier of English football!
Dissappointingly and probably out of frustration one of the saints fans behind us in W5 threw their homemade flag forward which hit a woman on the back of her head. She was entirely innoncent and even though it was an accident - no one had the balls to come down and apologise. Her husband tried to catch the attention of the steward sitting at the front of the section ( paid I assume to notice things like fans throwing objects or spectators getting struck ) he was completely ineffective. The husband then reported to one of the lead stewards in red coat that his wife had been hit on the head but again no support or assistance was forthcoming.
A few moments before half time I dashed down to use the catering facilities.... FFS get that sorted out as quick as possible. There was only a small queue but even that seemed beyond the people serving. My order was 3 pies and 3 bovrils. ( I've been to a number of sports stadia or large scale events ) but never has such an order been so difficult . The server got me the 3 lukewarm pies from the oven then went to pour the scolding bovril one cup at a time from the hot water pump behind as my pies got progressively colder. My suggestion - pre poured bovril - hot pies - people taking order just shout to the bovril / pie runner to save all the messing. Also price the food according or employ people who can count. The maths on 3 pies at £2.10 and 3 bovril son at £1.95 or whatever was clearly beyond her . Can it not just be two quid a pie and two quid a bovril - go mental and do a pie and bovril deal at £4!!!
Anyway £12 lighter I returned to my seat for the second half.
I thought there was better application and effort in the 2nd half and there at least looked like a game plan. Saints were good value for their goal and a draw was a fair result.
post match my dad got off and my mate and I walked up to the Bankhouse for one where the barmaid asked if I was a season ticket holder as she took my order - nice touch and I assume perhaps there is a discount for season tickets?!
We had tickets for the SMISA fans party at UWS . I thought it was well organised and attended I thought it had a good positive vibe. BillyG kept things up tempo with his Saints related playlist. I was lucky enough to catch up with a Saints supporting friend and the bottles of Peroni slipped down very nicely!!!
I thought George Adam ,Gordon Scott ,Tony Fitzpatrick and Alex Rae were all absolute gentlemen all speaking freely and elequently about the positive plans for the club. My mate who was an impartial bystander commented on how lucky we are as fans to be able to have such a close link with guys who clearly want the best for the club and were more than happy to pose for selfies and speak to the fans.

so to conclude - there are obviously many things the club needs to do at the start of the new era. The drive , passion and hard work is clearly there. Apparently we are a model for supporters associations looking at what we will achieve.
Get the 1877 club , the Strips, the Tannoy , the Hall of Fame boards and all the other gripes sorted. Establish - develop and maintain key lines of communication with the fans - build on the great work with young supporters at the dome. Get a competitively priced ticketing structure that is inclusive to all sectors of the community.
There should be no empty seats ever in the family stand - give the tickets to schools , youth groups, charities, council workers who work with the disadvantaged. In fact anyone or any organisation that can demonstrate a use or a need for them.
I feel even though I live 200 miles away that I am part of something good. I feel connected with the club - I can sense ambition on and off the park. I am sure the management team and the owners are all pulling in the right direction. I won't be paying an annual fee for the 1877 club but already I'm looking at the fixture list and considering which match I will be attending very soon.

I will be attending the Hamilton v St Mirren match on Saturday. I'll have a better idea then if how I feel about the club has changed with a new owner. But it's great news the old board has gone and congratulations are definitely due to all of the 1300 that made it possible - and ofcourse to the guys at SMiSA. Well done.
