  1. I missed the QOS game because of work commitments but I'm all set for Friday. United are on a bit of a run and Lazlo seems to have got them going. I thought we were awesome when we beat them 3-0 at Greenhill Road but we were definitely second best at Tannadice when they beat us 2-1. It will be an interesting game and a big test for us as well as a massive confidence booster for the team that takes the spoils. Our campaign certainly won't be over if we lose and winning this game alone won't win us the league but it seems a little more of a must win game than usual. To keep Singing "We're top of the league and your no " requires winning every week and I love it, so COYS give us another win and send the Arabs back to Dundee on a long miserable bus journey with no points. Looking forward to 3 points and a great Friday night oot.
  2. Interesting day so far. Fell into some very bad company with a few Gets fans who left from NB but back on track and heading for paisley albeit slightly jaded. We're on our way. COYS
  3. Not sure about the rail schedule or what the roads will be like tomorrow. Different sites have varied reports on high winds, icy roads and train cancellations. Think I might drive up tomorrow but waiting to see what the weather forecast is first
  4. Ok I'm not going to rush to bin him. He was trying his best I'm sure. Feck if he'd stayed on we might have won that. Not a great performance from stellios
  5. Rethinking that. As soon as I get home. Stellios is binned
  6. A saints goal fest would be fantastic but I'll settle for 3 points. On my way on the train. Few beers. 3 points, the two dungs draw and we increase our lead at the top. That's the way to get in the festive spirit. See all later [emoji481]
  7. Not sure if the SMISA vision sees much past the buy out. I don't think there's any guidance on whether members are still expected to pay their present monthly contributions, never mind additional ones, once the shares have been purchased. It's all rather uncharted territory. What SMISA will become and who it will be is not exactly clear never mind how it will fund things.
  8. Handed the top into the shop on Tuesday. No Quibbles, they are happy to repair it. Looking forward to getting it back as good as new.
  9. Steven might even be his maw's favourite. I heard she was on the bus travelling to Inverness. She could have watched John or visited Paul who wasn't playing but she went to see the buds. Enjoy your hard graft Ian. I don't want to rub it in but I don't plan on missing any games in the near future and I'm taking a leaf out of Mrs McGinn's book. I've got a ticket for the Hibs v Rangers game just to keep an eye on our asset John. Don't worry mate. This time next year you'll be a millionaire.
  10. Just wondering what the etiquette is with regards to top man selections on the forum. Do people chop and change in respect of players appearances/form. Do some of us "Old Fogies" just pick a blast from the past and reminisce about those Halcyon days and refuse to admit the new players can be just as good? Once you pick one should you stick with them? For a while I stuck with Frank McGarvey refusing to move into the modern era but during the "Great Escape" I finally accepted the top man choice should probably be about the current squad and because at that time I thought Stellios was totally committed and giving 110% he became my top man nomination. This season however, he hasn’t been on the field much and probably didn’t get the chance to show the same level of commitment and effort that he did during our magnificent run in last season. I was swithering on whether Gavin Reilly should receive my nomination instead based on current form and desire. Then on popped Stellios on Tuesday night and even although he wasn’t on for long and he was obviously playing out of position, he ran about like a blue arsed fly and made an absolute pest of himself as far as LIVI were concerned. He was back fighting for every ball just like he used to and Feck it, he can keep my top man status. I feel I’d be disrespectful if I demoted him. So what’s the etiquette? Is it acceptable to chop and change your top man or just to stay safe do you live in the past with old hero or to stop any psychological trauma’s do you just not nominate one to avoid making decisions? Sticking with Super Stelios meantime.
  11. Ha! Ha! wish it was, The wife blessed St Mirren with her presence last night and dragged me around Edinburgh shopping today. Did manage a couple of beers with buds in Paisley before and after the match so not all bad.
  12. Just back in North Berwick after a great night in Paisley. For what it’s worth here’s my tuppence worth about the match. I don’t think Livi were as a bad as everyone suggests. For the first 10-15 minutes, they played some decent football and looked quite dangerous. Their attacking style also meant we could play football and our boys held on to the ball well and passed it about with some confidence. The Livi tactics got a bit more cynical after their goal and whilst we totally outplayed them in the first half there is no doubt they outsmarted us. The second half was all ours though. I thought the boys showed not only great skill but great bravery refusing to cow-tow when the big livi thugs tried to take them out. Morgan was sublime and in one crunching 50/50 collision both Magennis and the Livi player jumped back up both obviously in agony but determined not to let the other know how much they were hurting. No one was taking prisoners out there and our boys held their own. Eckerlsy was excellent, Bairdy was brilliant, Morgan was magnificent and so it went on. It didn’t matter which saint had the ball they all delivered the goods. There wasn’t a bad player in the team just 11 very good, superb or magical buddies and three super subs giving their all for the cause. Someone suggested Bairdy thought he was Maldini and that that was a bad thing. Feck it, Bairdy was the bees baws out there and I hope he keeps the kind of self-belief he had last night. Morgan can be Maradona, Reilly can be Ronaldo and McShane can be fecking Messi if they keep playing with that commitment and skill. I thought the whole team was magnificent. And what about Jack Ross? Never mind Arsene Wenger’s magic hat we’ve got JR’s magic Cardigan. Some solid substitutions to protect the points and it was amusing to watch Livi running about trying to get the ball back in play after their first half time wasting tactics. Well done the Saints and roll on Saturday when we must go through all that again Just another Saturday? Is it Feck! We’re top of the league and they’re no.
  13. What a weekend. The two best games this season have been against inverness, The four goals in fifteen minutes at the 2021 had me screaming and shouting and despite freezing my bollocks off and wondering what the feck I was doing there in the first half, the second half action on Saturday had me up off my seat and dancing like a numpty. The team played their part. I thought big Sammy was awesome but the booking incident was stupid. Not sure what he was thinking about and Cammy Smith had a similar rush of blood to the head when he got booked in the first half. We looked like a different team in the second half and credit to McShane for his penalty. Great strike. As for Gavin’s goal that was just sublime and the fans reactions says it all. It was great to see Jack acknowledge the vocal support of the fans during his interview. I do like a wee sing song but I don’t generally sit in the singing section so I am not praising them from within but can I just say those guys were awesome. Whilst you can’t always hear them in the video they sang their hearts out for the full 90 minutes. I think they must have went through their whole repertoire because the playlist was quite extensive even if “We’re on our Way” was sung with the greatest fervour. The fair number of fans who braved the elements to go bare chested and wave their tops in “the Tops off for St Mirren” chant went way above and beyond the call of duty. I wasn’t even for unzipping my jacket never mind doing the full Monty. It was fecking freezing. The horrible weather might have caused a little bit more singing and dancing than usual as it was vital to stay warm but I think everyone, even the most sedate and boring fans were up off their seats and bouncing about when Gavin scored the second and secured the points. Well done Gavin for joining in our celebrations too. I think I enjoyed that goal more than any this season but maybe that was just because excessive movement/celebration was necessary to avoid freezing to death. Glad Jack acknowledged the fans in his interview and even offered his support regarding the “ongoing situation” claiming him and the players appreciated their efforts. On the subject of fans a Big thankyou to the Caley fans who made us welcome and gave up a lot of space in their social club to accommodate a healthy intake of noisy saints fans and the seats on your bus to and from the ground were appreciated. Had a cracking night in Inverness and Danibongo, I hope the camel syphilis never ruined your evening.
  14. Not sure how it starts or ends but the bit in the middle sounds like. Gavin you're the one Scoring goals for fun Maybe someone can help with the rest
  15. Right. First thing. It's fecking freezing up here. 50 percent of the fans are saints fans. The conditions are shite but the buds are drumming and singing their hearts out. Shirts off for St Mirren was not a pretty site but it this weather it shows dedication above and beyond. on the field Sammy is so far man of the match for me. He has been superb. Some discipline problems with McGinn and Smith. Hard conditions hard game. Magnificent support. Hopefully Jack will sort things second half. What a support.
  16. Since Dunkeld. The whole world has turned white. Snow everywhere but no pitch inspection at ICT so it should be game on.
  17. Just joined the Inverness train at Perth. A few Buds on the train. We're on our way
  18. Keep the faith Elvis.in Jack we trust and in victory or defeat we'll have a few beers a few laughs and then do it all again next week because that's what Saturdays are for. So no negative vibes. Don't just admire us join us. It's a good day oot
  19. Heading for the Inverness express. We're on our way. Looking forward to a great weekend and a buddies win. This is the point where we stake a claim or fade back onto the pack. Hopefully Joma Jack and his swashbuckling saints will give us all something to cheer about and we all bring back the vital 3 points.
  20. Is that Miles per Gallon. How far does 8 pints go if your walking
  21. Heading up by Train and staying over. Contacted the Caley Thistle social club who state it was snowing today but it came to nothing and it is all gone. They are confident the match will be on. They run a bus from the social club to the ground which is miles away from the centre. Should be another fun day out though.
  22. Is glengarnock, where ever the feck that is, the kind of place you don't want to go back to because a return is only £21.70.
