  1. one of the youngsters training with the first team squad, his energy levels are poor for a supposedly talented 'professional' player, he very seldom tracks back when he loses the ball and while he can cross a ball, you need centre forwards that are 8 ft tall to get to them. I would sonner have a less talented player who grafts; than someone who IMO is only ever going to be a 'nearly man'.
  2. Burnley sack Sean Dyche.....are they mad?,,,,,,,would appear so, 9 plus years and an honest man to boot, hope they do get relegated
  3. Even allowing for all the above; it's never nice to see anyone sidestepping all fault even though they are in charge. In interviews he seems nervous and operates in extremes, ie ' brilliant play' to 'diabolical defending', Goodwin kept a fairly level head, I'm afraid Robinson does not inspire confidence in me, put it this way, I wouldn't buy a second hand car from the guy.
  4. Have to agree keeper looks nervous, worried to death about maybe having to use his left foot and hasn't shown me he is worth his spot today.
  5. Sorry; a quality player doesn't keep falling over when nobody touches him, a quality player tracks back and tackles (or in Jones case, falls over), a quality player has more than a one in 20 success rate in passing, dribbling or shooting, and finally a quality player is NOT Jones, he is an average to good player, a quality player is someone who can do the things that Ronnan did, not Jones ever for me, waste of a wage.
  6. ARE YE SURE IT NAE PROZAC HES OAN, AH MEAN HE WIS A BIT DOZY
  7. Jones for me is one of those that flatters to deceive, he had one good touch near the end of the match when he suddenly switched gear........afterburners on and a chance was created, other than that we got 92 minutes of him showing that he definitely has potential, but either chooses not to show it, cant be bothered to show it or simply isn't good enough to show it. Not someone I would waste a wage on, on the other hand the young man who came on and crossed for Ronnan to score should have been on much earlier, Robinson was LUCKY, not a tactical genius, simply lucky let us hope he is not one of those managers who sticks to his guns with players and or styles of play that aren't working, we have had some of them previously. Having said all that we won even though we barely deserved to, whatever his tactics were...........they were wrong.
  8. I remember the chippie t the top of Storie street it had a sit in bit and I used to be in the boys brigade in the church at the bottom of storrie street on George st if I recall correctly, occasionally my da would tret me and give me some cash to have a sit in supper after the Boys brigade finished , my recolecetion is that fish supper with tea and bread was 2/5d, I heard yesterday the £10 fish supper is on its way, might be, but not ma bloody way.
  9. Opp's toot toot, darn good reason why I saw nowt then, wouldn't you agree.
  10. I would say so; however they neglected to mention that first the applicant;has to free the sword from the stone.
  11. I rather think salary really wouldn't be a huge issue for anyone that St Mirren are likely to offer the position to, I mean let us assume that we offer the post to a newbie such as Brown (yuch) or Naismith (yea), would it not be the case that given their relatively successful years as players, they would be financially secure enough to take a bit of a hit; wage-wise in order to gain potential access to a new career. As for the likes of Jack Ross or someone similar, the same rational ....re access to a new post would surely apply.
  12. Apologeeees, never noticed cap-lock.
  13. Naismith has been in and around football for a long time, from his days at Killie through Rangers, Everton, Norwich and Hearts and god knows how many Scotland caps. He is a good team player who has fitted in wherever he has been and served under some fairly auspicious managers,............ now perhaps he is the sort of dunderheid who hasnae listened tae a thing that they telt im, ............ but I rather think the opposite is more likely, so for me he is certainly worth an interview, and we shall see where that takes us. As for Ross/McInness/Lennon? Well I could live with Jack Ross, I don't think the board could though. McInness, sorry he doesn't rock my boat, a nearly man at best. And Lennon? Well like I said earlier, if it's Danny?, yes why not, I'm into nostalgia. Neil Lennon would be an absolute no no for me.
  14. Quite like the idea of Naismith. I am not hooked that the new man has to have a connection with us, more that he isn't tainted by a connection with certain 'others' for me that rules out quite a few in the blue and green bigot brigade.............not all, but a few. Naismith to me isn't tainted and he has played at a really good level and has always as far as I can remember come across as a reasonable, articulate and dignified man who would be worth an interview certainly. I will be assured of giving the board my opinion when they ring me and ask.
  15. Is it not funny how opinions differ, I would actually far rather have Danny Lennon back than either mcinnes or lennon and for me certainly; I would absolutely need somebody who gives a sh*t about the club as the very first and non negotiable primacy of employment.
  16. Just watched the Joe Shaughnessy interview and am mightily impressed by his behaviour/ demeanour,, cool calm and collected, following the club (party line) even though I would imagine it's done naturally and not instructed by the club, he always has come across as a sensible chap. A left-field choice perchance?
  17. not for me hopefully, is he no just as green as Rae was blue? and I hasten tae add I am speaking the divisive sense of two top teams nothing to do with religion or sectarianism
  18. agree entirely with complete last sentence re contract extensions, however have to disagree (equally) entirely re Hibs, he got them to a semi and they were in a reasonable position when boot came down.............all quite naturally in my ever so humble opinion.
