  1. I think if JG hadn't gone then I think Flynn may have got another year and possibly a way onto coaching set up. Power, definitely worth another year if possible. Seems to be the anchor we needed in midfield.
  2. I also think that Robinson has got his eye on a few players to bring in already. There is going to be a bit of a shake up in the national league next season where the salary cap is going to be applied. So the likes of Wrexham, etc who have attracted much higher standard of player because they can more than compete on wages with higher placed teams will come unstuck. National league standard now is probably on a par with higher end lg2/lower end lg1 to be fair. Much better standard than before.
  3. Wouldn't be surprised if Alnwick ends up at Aberdeen, Joe Lewis is getting on and Gary Woods bit suspect. I would give power another year if possible, however I do think the rest may well be away.
  4. Have spoke to a few friends who are leeds fans and it seems to be the general opinion that bielsa only has plan A. None of them actually call for his head but are resigned to the fact he will be away at end of season. Imo his post match interview on utd match he did look rather deflated/defeated.
  5. It was part of the deal for him to move into a more executive role at the end of the season. They wanted a more experienced manager in after the solskjear sacking to steady the ship. I think they will still be in top 4 but will make it hard work as usual.
  6. I think the issue is that their current manager is only temporary til end of season before he takes up new position at club which will advising on a permanent manager. A bit bizarre for a club the size of Utd really, and no wonder it ends up with a disjointed group that should be much better.
  7. At least she is a bit more sensible opposed to daft boris trying to redeem himselfπŸ™„. As for burn your mask day, as well we all know there is an element that would look for any reason not to wear one so for them it will seem like a moronic victory😑😑😑 In saying that I'm going to have to wear one at work again....................too many people can see I'm calling them all w*****sπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  8. Agree with you on that and I've got to say a big well done to the board for swift action by puting Langfield and McManus in charge as soon as JG was willing to talk to the dons.
  9. For me anyway I think he is going to find it harder when the honeymoon period is over and the pressure is on to what they think they are AND where they actually are.
  10. The big issue for JG at his new club is something I picked up on sportsound today at work was a lot of the Aberdeen team are ageing, on longer contracts and no doubt of reasonably higher wages thus harder to shift on or come to an agreement to cancel in order to rebuild unlike us with a more sustainable turnover. Also the panel did point out that with 1 player being potentially sold in summer that COULD bring in much need funds. The bigger picture being not the smartest decision by JG imo.
  11. After being at work on a full day shift got to thinking about the names as possible managers and as FOTF has rightly said most of the more experienced ones have nothing special about them, more a trail of failures at clubs. Agree with the situ with JR and hibs too. Between Naismith and Brown, I'd go with Brown. Personally I would think he is a good motivator, knows the league, how teams set up, etc. Not forgetting in his years at Celtic particularly when Rangers weren't in SPL to keep a team with probably better players than himself motivated in what was a 1 horse race I think says a lot. Also not forgetting it would also take Aberdeen's midfield enforcer away from JG.
  12. I suppose what we can hope for is that the others that are shortlisted give better interviews than JG. Alternatively I'm sure Mrs Goodwin may convince him for now a quite frankly a stable job far better that going to another club who want success yesterday, more than likely won't be given enough time to turn it round and end up sacked within 12 months. On the subject of Jack Ross, when he left us to go to Sunderland, they offered him a contract 5x what he was offered with us. No brainer at the time. Imo Aberdeen very much another Sunderland, willing to throw silly money about in hope that it works. I shudder to think what ramirez and brown are creaming off them wage wise amongst others.
  13. Seemingly off to FC Haka according to daily record onlineπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. Just to put a different outlook on the rumours/speculation concerning Jim and Aberdeen. As he is under contract with us then Aberdeen would need permission from us to approach him. As we are very much in the up at the moment I would like to think the the board wouldn't give them that permission, well, that's if they are serious about pushing the club forward imo. The reason I have posted this is that years ago Carlisle found themselves in a situation where after years of struggle and even relegation into non league they had a manager by the name of Paul Simpson who on relegation assembled a squad which got back up then won lg2, able to attract the likes of Michael Bridges to name prob the best one. Anyway Preston enquired and the board negotiated compensation before permission granted so he was gone regardless, since then their form speaks for itself over the years afterwards. I'm sure eventually Jim will go but would think a bigger gig that Aberdeen surely.
  15. To be honest I cannot see JG being interested in Aberdeen job. They are hardly the most managerial secure club to be at whereas with us he is. They are still in the belief that they are a 'big' team. Sadly there is 2 and the other 10 all capable of beating each other and fighting it out for essentially 4 places. He knows the financial constraints of saints and can work with it. Also whoever take over at Aberdeen now will have to work with whats there. Not exactly ideal.
  16. Did see that with Stewart. must have been killing him to do soπŸ˜‚. Anyway can't believe they were criticising the pitch at firhill, it was like that years ago too. Proper footy conditions at this time of year
  17. What was impressive of the move was the fact the Greive was unselfish by playing Kiltie in when could have taken it himself really also the fact Jones was still going to make himself available too after a hard slog of a match speaks volumes to how team have gelled imo. Ronan for me has stepped out the shadow of McGrath and now we are seeing what he is about really.
  18. Concerning the fakes I can see your point about them keeping hold of players that are now on the down turn but also it is glaringly obvious how instrumental Kerr and McCann were to them. Since they left at end of summer transfer window the fakes have been rotten.
  19. Great result!!! Seems as tho with a shift in formation the team has clicked. In saying that the fakes are bloody awful.
  20. Surely the penny will drop with him and not end up sent packing like McPherson and McAllister.
  21. Creamed a fortune off us without setting the place on fire. Just a point that griffiths could be the same by seeing an easy pay day. Not good for us at all.
  22. I can see your points, could well be another Archibald or Galloway. I did see someone had posted the likes of Sam Baldock being without club, he signed for Oxford recently but to be fair I don't think we could compete with their wages. There must be others without clubs that we could offer a contract to end of season that have been released in last window in which their fitness wouldn't take much to get up to speed considering JG doesn't appear to rate Main or Erwin anymore.
  23. Even better finish the season in it. Certainly got the squad to do it and now the confidence from the last 4 games must have rocketed. Favourite Tonyism of all time had to be his interview at Tannadice in 88 or 89 when we stuffed them 4-1 with Shaw, Chalmers and Walker scoring in second half. Anyway in addition to the team doing well, etc he came out with "the fans had a great game". Brilliant.
  24. Just got back in from work, seeing the score on final score certainly made 2n half of shift better. Sportscene tonight with a few beers to look forward toπŸ‘πŸ‘
