  1. In answer to the thread title... I am impressed by the squad Jim has assembled and once we get going i think we'll have a good season.
  2. if Kirk stays fit then he's a fantastic signing, just what our team needed at this point, we have a good range of youth and experience in the team now.
  3. I think that Jack will be back but i don't think he's in Jim's long term plans if i'm being honest. I think Jim will be looking at Defenders in the late 20s age range to probably come in next summer.
  4. I look forward to us playing on a grass pitch in 2 weeks....
  5. 10 new players... give them time to settle...we'll be ok.
  6. I watched the live stream the plastic pitches should be banned and i don't care if it's the same for both teams...a bloody awful surface! The SFA should make it a condition for the top league that it's a grass surface.
  7. Again it your opinion that’s it’s negative in my opinion some people are taking a stand against something they believe is morally wrong. I’m usually positive about most things St Mirren including the BOD but in this case I’m not being negative I’m being realistic the BOD are valuing bigot money more than their own supporters. It’s also not helping us on the pitch shooting into away fans at both ends. People feel strongly about it for a reason or it wouldn’t be an ongoing topic.
  8. "What majority" or a variant thereof will be the inevitable response! I know and the evidence on here and at St Mirren park points to him being wrong, it's up to him to prove it's not the majority because he's one of very few who think that.
  9. Done to death because you support the current arrangement... whereas for the majority on here who don't agree with it think it is a very valid topic that won't be going away.
  10. I'm glad that the majority on here and almost certainly in the St Mirren support as a whole don't support the family stand being given to the bigots for all the reasons given. Perhaps the chairman might actually listen to the fans on this eventually because i stated at the beginning of the thread it's not going away and i don't mind repeating this over and over again and i can also handle not having the last word.
  11. No this thread won’t go quiet because there’s only really one person that supports the board’s stance [emoji849]
  12. It was sickening and lots of our fans gave it a body swerve.... wonder why?.I bet our players would love to score at the home end against Rangers in front of their own fans...pity that eh?
  13. I think Faraway is St Ricky
  14. It's not on because the club are admitting they don't want children subjected to the vile sectarianism at these games (let's be realistic) because we are.... wait for it! A family club🤣 Couldn't make it up!
  15. I think this vote is reflective of how the majority of our support feel but let's find out on Sunday how popular it is... I expect a poisonous atmosphere as usual and we have to suffer it at both ends of the ground. Great stuff BOD!
  16. Yes i do agree that GS is doing it to try and make us a better team, that's never been up for debate. I do think though that there is the beginnings of a sea of change in Scottish football and fans of clubs outside the OF want their club to take a stance...like ours should.
  17. And as someone who supports the stance i understand your position. I however, like many others don't and therefore won't be letting it go anytime soon. Let's see how our fans react on Sunday to having bigoted chants at either end.... worth it? Never in my opinion.
  18. Do you sit in the west stand? The last Celtic game was full of furious supporters who are sick of their behaviour and bigoted chants. Ask they stewards who work there...
  19. I understand that and i like Gordon Scott and on the whole he has done a great job IMO. This particular policy however is very unpopular and as he is fan and a businessman he should surely be mindful of this. It's not as if this is just a peculiarity of the St Mirren support, every team in Scotland's supporters are against it because they don't have as a high percentage of bigots in their support as the OF.
  20. I understand your position and i also want my team to prosper, same as GS but not at any cost and as i said continually pissing off fans is not a good route to go down. Understandably this topic will be consistent until a few days after the Rangers game because it's our next game and we're going to know all about who "the PEEPUL" are yet again.
  21. And that policy is a very dangerous path to go down if you want your business/ club to thrive. Piss off enough customers/fans and they won't go. And remember.... it's not for ridiculous reasons either it's because they can't stomach the fact that the bigot brothers are getting our home end.
  22. I'm not a negative fan but i listen and watch the fans around me in the west stand and they are very much against the OF being in our family stand. What's more annoying though is despite this GS decides to go ahead and do it anyway.... those who are against it will not go away and why should they?
  23. And we come back to the same point here, those who think it's ok to give the OF the family stand are very much in the minority. If you want more proof, go and find it yourself.... or maybe you don't want that proof because it would prove that the majority are against it. The club have done well in so many other ways but let themselves down continually while they continue with this policy of giving both stands.
  24. Jim is great in his interviews, so far no bullshit cliches and he's being honest. I love his positivity too.
  25. You're probably right, not the biggest fan of agents surprisingly. Popescu's did the same...he would have been better back here playing first team football.
