  1. Well, all I say is we might miss what he might have done in the upcoming matches, but we certainly won’t miss what he’s done to date.
  2. Sorry, also meant to say re the bolded bit above….. Boo Hoo. Sentimental claptrap.
  3. caveat we don’t know if the Thistle rumour is true, but let’s assume it is. Do you think they’ll have offered him more than us? I doubt it.
  4. Agreed. Some on here saying "aw how could we dae that to the poor wee laddie". Feckum I say. If he knocked back our contract offer he can hing as he graws. The question would be whether we can block him or not if it wasn't already in the loan agreement? Of maybe the agreement expires at the end of the league season?
  5. I’m reluctant to join this debate as I have no real axe to grind either way on the topic. I’ll confess to just “blindly” paying my SMISA subs and justify it as supporting the club I love. However, just one point of order. In the above post (and others) you appear to be using the regular SMISA updates as evidence of transparency. I’m not sure that is necessarily the case is it? Surely it is only evidence of such, if it can be proven that those regular updates contain ALL of the pertinent information. I’m not saying they don’t by the way, just that one is not evidence of the other.
  6. It’s a difficult one. My preference would always have been for the other teams to simply threaten the OF into submission, but for me the opportunity to create any level of equity between clubs is long gone. Back in the 70s and 80s I had no problem with the OF being the biggest clubs because they were so by virtue of their larger fan base only. Whilst this obviously still gave them greater spending power than the others, the gulf was nowhere near as big as it is now and other teams had the opportunity to win trophies and even the league (Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and almost Hearts). However the millions the OF have accumulated since the 90s through the Champions League/European football, now make the position irreversible. Even getting agreement now on a more equitable split of revenue going forward, would never be enough to change the current situation. Therefore, sadly I believe the only possible way forward if we want equity, is a league without the OF which we would have to accept would attract far less interest than it does now.
  7. Out of curiosity, does anyone know where all the non Old Firm teams stand legally in terms of walking away and starting their own league? On one hand you would think that clubs can do whatever they like, but on the other hand it seems unlikely that all the other clubs could be able to effectively put the Old Firm out of business (which that would pretty much amount to as they’d have no one to play except each other).
  8. Whether I’m bothered or not depends 100% on who replaces them. Also I’m not normally one for getting too down about players leaving. Years as a youth of losing guys like McGarvey, Stark, Weir, McDougall, McAvennie etc schooled me to that. Generally I accept that if people get a chance to better themselves then they should be free to do so. However, I’ll confess to being a little disappointed in Main. Thought he’d have shown a little more loyalty to a man who has completely transformed his fortunes on the park.
  9. It doesn’t mate. Why do you always assume when I disagree with you that I’m denying you your opinions. You sound like Neil off the Young Ones. A caricature oppressed lefty 😀. I support the SNP because they are (or now possibly were) the only viable vehicle for independence. I don’t want Scotland to be run by the SNP forever. I just want it to be run by a government that it’s voted for. And finally, I hate when people (like you just did) compare Scotland to provincial parts of England. It’s not the same thing Yorkshire isn’t a country. Scotland is. It’s a country that hundreds of years ago decided to sign up to a political union with some other countries. A lot of people now think that Union isn’t good for Scotland. Sadly for Yorkshire, Lancashire, Teeside etc etc they are part of England. Scotland isn’t. Anyway, if fear we maybe be taking this thread somewhat off topic 🤣
  10. Sorry I should have been more clear. I wasn’t referring to the geographical and architectural beauty of Scotland (only a complete idiot would deny that). I was referring more to its political capability and ability to stand on its own feet.
  11. Ha ha. The Quisling bit was a wee bit of intentional hyperbole on my part for dramatic effect. 🤣 However, on a serious note my beef if I have any on that score is nothing to do with the fact that you moved away from Scotland. As you’ve pointed out, that would be ridiculous given I did the very same thing. My issue is with the way you talk about Scotland or to be more specific the way you talk down Scotland, usually at same time waxing lyrical about the centre of the universe that you believe London to be. I see you as a fully paid up member of the Scotland is to wee, to stupid etc gang. Still, there are things we agree on on the board. National pride and obsessions with the old firm just aren’t two of them.
  12. You didn’t and nor did I perceive it. I merely sought clarification based on the fact that you used my post to make your assertion 👍😀 Glad that’s all cleared up 😀
  13. Just so I’m clear. Are you suggesting any of my posts were abusive?
  14. I’m pretty confident we can win at home to Hearts (I’d be less confident if it was away), but regardless of that I still agree with you that the Hibs game is a must win. If we were to get wins in both those games, I think it would give us the opportunity to play the other 3 games with a certain level of freedom, which in my opinion is always our best chance of getting a result against those teams.
  15. Surely when facts are not known, perception and opinion is all we have? Not sure anything is overruling anything. Just an exchange of views and opinions.
  16. That is beyond hypocritical coming from from a bonafide Quisling like your good self who cuddles up to Westminster and the London centric establishment. Talking about yourself as a “Londoner” not only because you happen to live in the London area, but like it’s some sort of badge of honour. A badge you proudly wear above any notion of Scottishness. Of course I don’t know any of the above as fact, it’s simply what I perceive from your postings.
  17. Ha! Looks like I picked the wrong thread to post on 😩 Interesting set of fixtures. Not sure how I feel about the Hibs game being up first. On one hand it could put us in an almost impossible position if we lose, but on the other hand, if we win, I think the other fixtures fall nicely for us, particularly Rangers being up last. I’ll now be hoping they beat Celtic in the semi so that they’ll have at least half a mind to the final the following week (although given the opposition they might not be too concerned about that). We knew that one of either Aberdeen or Hearts would be away for the third time and if I’m honest I’d have preferred it was Hearts, but we’ve won at Pittodrie too so who knows. Only downside for me is that my next weekend up the road is 20th so unfortunately it’s the Parkheidpiggery for me. The last game I wanted it to be. 😩

  19. I repeat…..no they cant. Unless you have a very strange definition of “regularly” which must mean never in your dictionary. At least n relation to Hearts and particularly Aberdeen. In relation to Hibs regularly must mean only when they are playing their city rivals., so maximum twice a season. Did have a wee chuckle at your suggestion I was the one getting my knickers in a twist just for pointing out a fact. 🤣🤣 You appear to be the one soiling your bedlinen dear. “Personals” 🤣🤣 That was the best one. Talk about touchy 🤣
  20. Thanks Buddie. So I was correct then. 👍 Hearts ground doesnae even hold 20k 🤣🤣 You didnae need to add the Saints averages though as I never disputed that the others crowds were more than double ours, just that they were “regularly getting 20000”. Hearts are the only team who regularly get close to their capacity even. The only times Hibs have got 20000 this season has been against Hearts apart from one random game against St. Johnstone. Aberdeen quite frankly aren’t even close to regularly getting 20k this season. They haven’t had it once 🤣🤣. In fact they’ve only had above 18k twice!
  21. I’m not sad enough to check and if you are, please feel free to prove me wrong, but the bit in bold sounds like complete and utter bollocks to me.
  22. Did ye aye? If you paid zero attention to what was happening that day then you are either a complete weirdo of a St. Mirren fan or you were too ignorant to know the significance of the game. Just my view of course. 😀
