  1. JR is a hard act to follow and you will be under immense pressure but you will have the fans total support as the new season kicks off. All the very best Alan.
  2. GROUP H St Mirren Kilmarnock Dumbarton Queen's Park Spartans
  3. If Jack achieves half of what Johnny did, he'll do well. Based upon his record, surely Cochrane must be Saint's greatest manager?
  4. This is getting a habit! From Wiki... Johnny Cochrane (born in Paisley) was a Scottish football manager. Cochrane was manager of St Mirren from 1916 until 1928.[1] He helped the club win the Victory Cup in 1919, the Barcelona Cup in 1922 and the Scottish Cup 1925–26 Scottish Cup, as St Mirren won 2–0 against Celtic at Hampden Park.[1][2] The Paisley-born manager arrived at Sunderland in 1928, replacing Bob Kyle. He went on to manage the Wearside club for 500 games, winning the Football League First Division in 1935–36 season. Cochrane also led Sunderland to success in the FA Cup with a 3–1 win over Preston North End in the 1937 FA Cup Final.

  6. Hi Div,

I haven't been keeping totally abreast of why some people have been incarcerated in the 'Sin Bin'.  Some language and comments seen on here are less than civilised given that it's not all 'adults' who visit this site and I agree that there should be some form of punishment.  However, be aware that the Sin Bin does not become more popular than the mainstream forum.

I feel that those who reside within the SB should be able to comment but be prevented from creating threads and visitors should be banned too as this will rival the legitimate forum.

    Yours,

    DSS

  7. If Jack goes his successor won't be a knee-jerk reaction. Since the start of the season, I have it from good authority that Saints have been monitoring possible replacements given Jack's elevated status.
  8. Jack's biggest challenge next season will be to find different answers to the same questions week in week out in his post-match interview.
  9. Sorry for the double topic, don't know what happened there!
  10. Writing in the online edition of the Herald and reminiscing about Hampden, he said, FOR most Scottish football supporters Hampden Park holds memories, of big games won or lost, of events that brought success or failure, with joy or disappointment. Mine include the Scottish Cup final of 1959, St Mirren 3 Aberdeen 1. I was 18, and enjoyed the event.

  12. Defensive frailties yes, but Falkirk, based on this performance would give Saints a run for their money. See here.
  13. I think that's one of the greatest football photos ever taken. It tells a whole story.
  14. What I would welcome is for us to draw the Old Firm away in one of the cup competitions and see LM at his best. The world of football would soon wake-up.
  15. Having just watched the video highlights, I thought the camera work was woeful. Either too close or too far and jerky. Every Saturday night there's perfect examples of angles and zoom lengths. No excuse even for students.
  16. There should be separate tunnels. Here's a good example from Red Star Belgrade for the away team. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/intimidating-three-minute-walk-through-13152998
  17. If he has to go Christmas would be the best time. I don't see any reason why his form can't even get better which would inflate the price for him plus, he would contribute towards us establishing our place in the top 3 or 4.
