  1. Welcome aboard. Like your Avater. You'll need a few 'e's to get you through this season
  2. Marwood was excellent on Sat playing wide right. But tonight he was played through the centre. McLean's best position I believe is just behind a centre forward where he can run and shoot and I think he is only a quarter the player when playing in front of a back four like he did tonight. I think TC made mistakes with the original formation and compounded that by not adjusting tactics and personnel when it was obvious we were being overrun. The players were woeful but TC made bad decisions all night. He got it right on Sat so I am just stunned he got it so badly wrong tonight.
  3. TC on the radio there saying too many players had an off night however I would put the responsibility at TC's door. On Sat we played 4-2-3-1 with width. A formation that worked fantastically well. Tonight we started with a 4-4-2 to accommodate the loss of Goody. Sorry to say young Brown was a rabbit caught in the headlights and we were overrun in the middle of the park from the off and had no width. Brown should have been off at half-time if nothing else to protect his confidence. When Wylde went off things got worse as we played 4-3-3 with 3 centre forwards who got in each others road and still no width nor midfield. After that it was just a shambles with no formation and no-one knowing what position they were supposed to be playing in. Tactically we were awful.
  4. Wylde's comments certainly support Jackson's thesis ...... http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/spfl/saint-gregg-flying-on-express-train-175981n.25023568 ....tosser ......
  5. Naw, we should be signing players from Cowdenbeath instead
  6. Watch some re-runs of our build-ups from last season
  7. In future we just play him until he is booked then hook him. Simple. He can share the position with young Hughes so we get the benefit of both worlds
  8. Glad it isn't the 35 yo left back from Leeds. The younger version (from Man City) is listed as a defender who can also play on the wing. http://www.mcfc.co.uk/elite-development-squad/defenders/adam-drury If he is half as good as Plummer he will be a welcome addition to the squad.
  9. Goody does a great job for us. At the end of last season he was subject to continuous assault as other teams targeted him but he just got up and got on with it. He is a loss when not in the team. He just needs to calm down a bit and concentrate on football. But I do get pissed off when he is in the stand when he should be on the park.
  10. Plummer is far better. McGregor is history and Rangers are paying way over the odds for an average Championship player.
  11. He claimed we were 'weaker' than last season. Anyone who was at the game yesterday agree with him? Later in general conversation he said that the League was very even this season and that any team with a proven goalscorer would do well - has he not heard of Thommo? He also said that St Johnstone's replacement for May would do them a turn - a 20 yo Liverpool player called Adam Morgan who has scored 0 (yes, zero) goals while on loan the last two seasons to Rotherham and Yeovil and I am pretty sure Jackson has never seen Morgan play. Jackson talks a load of shit.
  12. Goodwin was immense at the end of last season. Played like a captain and kept the heid. When he is like that he is an absolute must in our team. However he is being discriminated against now and does not seem to recognise it. He must help himself by not getting into stupid situations but the club must also protect him from unwarranted abuse. But the bottom line is its Jim's responsibility otherwise he should leave not just St Mirren but Scotland if he wants to continue a career in football.
  13. Thommo should make a difference to the finishing dept. I am sure he would have loved to have been out there today with the kind of service that was on offer
  14. That was daylight robbery today. And here is something I have not said in a long time - the defence were great! Plummer has class written all over him. Fantastic display for someone so young. But they all played well at the back. Same old, same old problem up front - no-one wants to shoot! We just want to pass it into the net. Gave up on the number of good opportunities to shoot but they kept passing instead. On the bright side was the fact that we created chance after chance and had the 'Well defence going round in circles. Marwood looked great - just needs to shoot more instead of passing. Wylde was brilliant on occasion but has to improve his crossing. Ball looked a yard off the pace especially in the second half but nonetheless looks like he can offer us something. Should have buried a ball laid on to him 6 yds out when he ballooned it over the bar. McGinn was great today - mastered the midfield and was brought down more often than anyone. I felt sorry for Jim today. First tackle was a booking - hard but not a booking in my opinion. Second card was for mouthing after a foul had been given against us. This is only speculation but he had complained to the ref just before that at the amount of times wee McGinn was being brought down with no action being taken. Maybe he carried that on. I reckon if Thommo had been on the park today and captain then Jim would not have got so involved in that outburst. Just speculation on my part. Overall extremely disappointing to lose against a team that we outplayed but the new players all looked like a vast improvement from this time last year. Feeling optimistic EDIT to ADD: 'Well fans on P & B are saying Goodwin tried to elbow Sutton in the face but missed (in front of the Main Stand) but the linesman saw it and reported it. If that is the case then Goody deserved to go and hugley disappointing as when he cuts out the macho shit he serves us really well.
  15. I used to live in a street where one of the Church members provided accommodation for the young Americans in suits who came over to convert us. Consequently I had very frequent conversations with these young salespeople who had little life experience trying to tell me where I was going wrong. It was ultimately very sad to witness as they obviously had prepared their sales pitch and had a conviction based on what they had been told and not what they had learned about life. I began to feel sorry for them as I am sure they got a few doors slammed in their face in Paisley.
  16. We need to sell drugs in the Vomitories to get our fans into a frenzy. Oh wait .......
  17. Turning off the lights was a symbolic mark of respect and remembrance for the many millions that died and were maimed during the wars (the Great War in particular) - soldier and civilian. It should also be a reminder of the horror and futility of war and that there are better ways to solve conflicts and live peacefully. You are entitled to your comments but they are in very poor taste and should be an embarrassment to you.
  18. House of Lords: nearly 800 members who claim £300 per day for turning up (plus travel and staff expenses). None elected. 92 are there by birthright as herdeditary peers. 26 are representatives of the Church of England. Prison is no barrier to retaining your seat (including murder - treason is the only exception). Numbers rocket over last few years with each Peer able to earn £114,000 pa (2013). Thiose working as 'special advisors' can earn more. .... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2530171/David-Cameron-fire-cost-running-House-Lords-leaps-42m.html Annual running cost was £87 million in 2013 which was a decrease of £1.2 billion the previous year. http://www.parliament.uk/documents/lords-information-office/2013/house-of-lords-annual-report-2012-13.pdf 'Most turn up to claim expenses' by Conservative MP Lord Hanningfield. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25411182 Democracy my arse.
