  1. Even Jim agrees ..... http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/spl/goodwin-happy-to-have-new-saints-131129n.21668567
  2. JS only featured for about 15 mins for our first team so its impossible to judge him on that but he physically looked pretty frail. However several of our U19s were offered a pro contract and he wasnt one of them. He has good contacts so I am sure he would get the chance to play a trial for a few clubs. Whether anyone signs him remains to be seen.
  3. Teale was certainly our best player by far but suffered from a severe lack of service especially in the second half. He was usually in acres of space and shouting for the ball but the back four passed it to each other instead of him. We have got to get the ball to him more often and a lot quicker.
  4. But it wasnt just the defence Imrie was ripping the pish out of. We had only 4 changes from a team that could have featured last season with only two (Cornell and Kelly) never having played in the SPL (Harkins and McGregor having at least 1 year experience each). Goodwin and Gowser both took turns to try to take Imrie out. Imrie can only play against what's in front of him and he was the best player on the park. I dont think anyone can take that away from him.
  5. I dont blame Imrie one bit. There were maybe faults on both sides but I never thought Imrie got a decent chance with us as he was rarely played in the position he prefers and was constantly shunted in and out the team. We never let him play to his strengths. And I thought our fans gave him an unjustifiable hard time. If I was Imrie I too would be giving us two fingers.
  6. Darren looked terrified at times today. Very slow in thought and getting caught in possession a lot. Tried a few forward runs but usually overran the ball or passed it out the park. Won most things in the air. Tried to play the 'safe' ball far too much giving the opposition time to re-organise but that can be said for all of the back four. We must be the slowest team in the League for building up play. Cheesy was the best of a bad bunch but again too many meaningless passes. Its early days of course but the defence overall looked a shambles.
  7. Painful to think we actually paid to get rid of him.
  8. I reckon we should put in a bid for the Morton No 7 - he was the best man on the park today
  9. Nice wee article in the Herald today.... http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/fairytale-is-not-finished-yet-for-paisleys-hometown-hero.21567105
  10. The only fact that is relevant is we saw a large (compared to an aircraft), bright object that flew across the complete night sky from one horizon to the other in the amount of time it takes to quickly half turn your head. (We were lying down studying the sky and I was monitoring from direct above to the West and my friend was monitoring the sky above and Eastwards). It was an unidetified flying object of some sort totally unknown to me and I didnt offer any proof. But I know what I saw as I was there and had a witness.
  11. I saw a UFO above Bonnybridge one night when I was camping out with someone with the intention of studying the sky after a spate of sightings. That convinced me.
  12. Good article LS but wasted on here .....
  13. Not enough space on the server to list my favourites. I used to DJ and still love and listen to dance music (even though I am over 21). I once spent a week listening to R&B for 20hrs a day and finally got brainwashed into really liking it . Edit to add: try some of the french DJs like Claude Challe and Stephan Pompougnac - fantastic stuff!!! However I have a wide range of tastes (except heavy metal). Artists that have stayed with me over the years include Neil Young, New Order / JD, Tod Rundgren and Leonard Cohen. These days I am listening to a lot of Nick Cave and Richard Hawley. Too much good music out there!
  14. Higgy has signed for N.E.C Nijmegen .... http://www.nec-nijmegen.nl/home Edit to add: so much for those 'in the know'
  15. De Gea is the same age as Cornell and like Cornell has only been capped at Under-21 level. Think he has done ok at Man U. Newton and Dummet had never played first team football before and they did ok. Not at all worried about Cornell. There have been several young reserve Premiership keepers who played in Scotland then went on to success in the Premiership.
  16. I know what you think it is but it isn't! It is that side of town but further North if that helps
  17. Nice one Gary .... http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/spl/harkins-was-sold-on-saints-move-by-gaffer-lennon-127991n.21376498
  18. I believe we still buy our pies from Pars http://www.parsfoods.co.uk/ EDit to add: The bakers are not Paisley but Glasgow but the caterers are from Paisley are they not? Shull knows all the details as he did a PhD in St Mirren catering.
  19. I like Greggs however there are many small bakeries who supply to their local clubs and this deal may very well put them out of business. Difficult choice but I think I would reject the bid.
  20. A great actor and appartently a great guy. 51 is far too young to pass over. Enjoy your new life James and thanks for The Sopranos.
  21. I love the smell of sweaty young fillies . Each to their own.
  22. To each there own Poz. Neil & Crazy Horse played a great version of f**kin Up with a Native American background rhythm and a chanting that wont ever be found on any CD - a unique experience which is what, IMHO, makes the gigs so memorable. And 10 mins of feedback after Walk Like a Giant is something that you only get at live gigs and not on CDS and for that it gets my vote . The guy was clearly having a great time and that conveyed itself to the audience who were encouraging him to do his thing. Everybody wins
