  1. Pretty much this... Not sure Ridgers is the answer but jeez he must be better than Langfield, horrible performance today... Does he come back on Jan 1st? While we're at it feel slightly sorry for Baird but he's just not ready for first team football, thought he was all over the place when he came on today.... Not that Webster or Kelly were any better... Rae has his work cut out with that defence for sure...
  2. A few beers and wines later...how the feck did we lose that game....Saints find new ways to boot you right in the knackers... Ach well back to the booze, only a game and all that :-)
  3. Absolutely, Agnew now feels like a signing Murray feels he needs to justify, he just doesn't look good enough.... Mallan drifts in and out of games but at least when he's in it he's pretty good and hopefully as he matures he can impose himself more on games, but he certainly has some talent and time on his side.
  4. Agree with most of that, Baird and Watson had a torrid 2nd half. Goodwin is a loony and some of his fouling is ridiculous but he had very little help in midfield when the going got tough in the 2nd half. McGrath was a bizarre sub....he had so many other options.
  5. Well on the plus side we were looking for goals and excitement at home, we got them both.....after the first half we all probably wanted a dull shitfest of a second half and to see it out, but you did feel if we sat off they had goals in them. We did play well in parts of the game but Houston won the tactical battle in the 2nd half and we got it wrong, Miller gave them a focal point with lots of runners off him causing us all sorts of problems and thought he gave our defence and Baird in particular a torrid time. As others have said lumping it up to Thommo 2nd half didn't work and just invited them on to us, not sure he has it in him but Murray needs to learn to adapt and be more positive when we're ahead. Agnew offers very little for me and certainly can't play centre midfield with Mallan playing as well, who is simply better than him. Gallagher with his pace seems wasted at left midfield but what do I know, thought he had a decent game going forward but like McMullan probably leaves us exposed. Anyway onwards and upwards, beer time....
  6. You're absolutely right, we have to be competing for top 4 and anything else is failure imo I do think he has signed relatively well (Gow apart), for this level anyway....he just needs to get a settled formation competing and winning some games....easy peasy:-) oh and feckin play 2 up front....
  7. Agree and it wasn't meant as a criticism of Murray, I guess Cuddihy could have played who I think is a natural right back but I haven't seen him play so not sure how good or strong he is. And yes thought Kelly and Webster did ok in the main today. Midfield was the problem and the decision to play 1 up front, again....
  8. Exactly this, Agnew is poor in central midfield, is so weak and doesn't create anything. Playing shankland on his own was a mistake, Gallagher was lost out wide and didn't have a great game imo, seen the team in the car and assumed he was playing with 2 up top.....1 ain't working. McMullen played well enough when he was on the ball, just need to get him it more and he may get that in the middle. Felt for Baird at right back, never a full back and looked very uncomfortable there.
  9. Is Carswell injured, didn't see anything on it?
  10. For me Billy Stark is an awful appointment, hasn't done anything of note in years and just doesn't inspire in any way! Will be surprised and disappointed if he becomes our new manager.... Still think the part in the board statement regarding Teale was quite odd, to me it implied he will be involved in some way going forward...perhaps as a coach or assistant.
  11. Absolutely this, fitness should be an absolute given so a shock this season to see so many of our players struggling for fitness, heard a few rumours before about some of our younger players not being lovers of the gym, looking at kelly, naismith and McGinn you can see where that may come from....really poor as all 3 have talent IMHO
  12. We've deserved nothing today, we were awful, Killy not much better, but better than us, not difficult.
  13. As others have said give us some goals and wins and the atmosphere will come... It was better today, simply because we competed and won the game... Simples :-)
  14. Thought he looked good, no messing about... There was a point in the first half he could have tried to bring it under and mess about with it but under pressure he just hoofed it from the danger area and quite right too....
  15. Not sure he'd walk and sort of think why should he, we made the mistake of offering him the job... His reputation is in tatters so this would be 1 last payday... Up to the board now!
  16. You have to think he'll be gone today.... 4-0 against ICT has done it in the past... Surely... 8 points in the league and dumped out of both cups by the start of December, how much worse could he do.... Season ticket holder but not sure I can face Saturday, better things to do, the kids now moan and groan when I suggest we go to the game.... No goals, no atmosphere, sad state of affairs...
  17. No boycott required, just can't be arsed going anymore.... Season ticket means we'll go to league games if there is nothing else on but my boys find it a total bore now so not putting them through it and for £30 we'll take Gus's advice and go to the cinema or something, no goals no entertainment, sad times to be a saints fan!
  18. Indeed, bizarre substitutions...said that at the game today, we weren't great but we were hanging in there and they weren't great either, then the subs came and were so poor....felt sorry for the young boy, way out his depth but Caldwell just looks gash.
  19. I Thought that at the game but watched it today and think it was a brilliant cross and finish and so a bit of credit to due to them.... Decent point for us even with county winning, big game next week but reckon we need 3 points to be safe and reckon we'll get them
  20. Live very near Jim and been out on a few occasions with him, an absolute gent of a guy and can tell you a lot of the crap that goes from opposition players/managers etc really hurts him as it's just not something he would do himself as seen last night... Thought he was excellent last night and I know that the support he received will mean a lot to him. He stays away from twitter/forums etc as it's just not his style so the crowd getting behind him last night will mean a lot to him. Hope we win the appeal as think we need him in the run in, although I doubt the SFA will admit the ref got it wrong. As for the daily ranger view from last night best ignored, can't believe they said he trod a fine line...he wasn't even close to it...
  21. I do agree in that the players have to take responsibility and are not performing well enough, but it's the manager that carries the can, that's football! I still think Gk and midfield to forward we have a pretty decent team. Defence isn't great but that doesn't explain why we don't score a lot of goals or even carry that much threat at times. The squad we are stuck with the manager we can change, it ain't working and it's the business end so time for a change.
  22. Time for a managerial change, can't keep going like this....piss poor with what is a pretty decent squad IMO
  23. I thought Newton was pretty poor tonight, if not our worst player. McGinn had a poor night by his usual standards and Campbell whilst on was a ghost so they dominated midfield Dire stuff and a tough few games ahead, need to do better than tonight that's for sure
  24. Awful stuff tonight and hard to give many pass marks, sat back and let then dictate play until we went down to 10 men when we then decided to come out and play a bit... As others have said feel like Danny's time is up... Really struggle to understand why we only seemed up for it when we went down to 10 men
