We ended up blessed with keepers at the end of last season (it actually pissed me off that 2 of our best players were keepers lol). I knew we would never keep hold of both as one didnt deserve to play second fiddle to the other, nor could we offer enough money forhim to be happy to do so. Did we keep the right one? id say so! hadnt honestly heard of ridgers before we signed him, hopefully learns from kello and pushes him hard for the jersey!

If there was loyalty in football no one would transfer anywhere ;) Like most i thought his first season was great and then the injuries left me wanting more from him. He isnt solid enough at the back to offer nothing going forward imo. We were rank at set pieces last season, we need centre backs that offer a little aerial threat at corners etc. Not laying blame at a single players feet but there were reasons we ended up in the shit last season, hes one i would like to replace.

Why? weve got a very good keeper in kello, who could probably play every game next season. If he gets injured we can get another proven keeper the same way we got him! We dont have the money to be signing two proven keepers.

Very good post, one of they few people on here whos opinions i actually anticipate reading mate, usually seeing both sides and give a decent account of yourself! Totally agree that the board do get it wrong and have done so numerous times, sometimes damned either way. I was more trying to highlight that what ever the board do/have done its what they thought the best interest of the club. When we were in the thick of it last season i read alot of "fans" accusing them of being tight with the finances (a preverbial feegie grip on the wallet). in short alot of people just open their mouth n let the belly rumble!

Folk only seem happy when theyre moaning! Had gilmour not commented the other night fans would have accused him of keeping them in the dark, which weve seen them say through out the season! Fickle isnt the word for it! Still enrages me when people attack the decisions our board make. They went out on a limb to get the club where it is today and have always done what they thought was right for st mirren, just a shame they dont have the crystal ball some think they do. Just need to look at the circus that is the sevco board, f**king conmen duping the fans into thinking they are rangers through and through when in fact they are vultures tearing out what they can to line their pockets!

People in an uproar about the treatment of DL? Some of the same people who cried across all forms of media sites for the man to be sacked/resign.......

Aye the uber fans can be a bit hard going. Im much the same opinion as you (and also work weekends). Home/away every week was awrite when you lived at home n didn't have a bird lol!

I bet there was a minority raging yesterday that we didn't lose, very hard to protest against the manager etc when you've just won! The way I see it is hes had plenty of opportunities to go elsewhere since he first joined us, maybe he likes it here. Hes on decent money at a club with good facilities, plays every week, is a fans favourite and has got silverware with us. His family life might be more suited to him staying put aswell as his troubles with the law. I don't doubt that there will be interest from other clubs right enough but would love to see him stay.

Tbh it would be a lot of personel changes to fit harkins back into the team, to play a system that suits him. Hes a luxury player (stop laughing), the difference between him and gowser is tht gowser tracks back, chases down everything and can win a tackle, harkins cant/wont do this. Im afraid were not in a position to have this type of player in the starting 11. My original point was that if we get offered a deal that takes harkins off our hands (when hes 1 year left on his contract) that wont cost us money(i.e compo for releasing him early) wed be daft not to take it.

Aye hes been a lot more consistent but the abuse he was getting is what bemused me, he was never that bad!

Maybe not Oldham but if he continues to play well he may attract attention from othe clubs in the league that do have money. Even if it winds up that we tear up his contract and get him off the books, it would work out well for us.

Yeh I seen some guy on twitter trying to twist his words, as if he was saying Aberdeen were a bad club. Other fans also coming on after saying how great they had been, slating him lol. Some people defo just try to get a reaction. I had a guy retweet me after I said he was nothing more than an attention seeking internet troll, as if he was proud of it.
