  1. what about fraser fyvie that has just been released by wigan, he would be a good replacement and with teale's Wigan's contact, must be worth a punt
  2. is Thommo not out injured for the season, we go on about our injury list or how unlucky we are to have experienced players injured we are kidding ourselves on as per below, we have McGinn injured - teenager and not a seasoned pro Plummer injured - teenager - first year playing first team football Wylde Injured - not exactly set the heather on fire for us. Osbourne injured - the same as Wylde Thommo - 36 , done nothing this season Goodwin - dont believe he will play again for us this season. the squad is not good enough, if thommo is out for the season, then we cannot free up that wage as he is contracted to end of season Goodwin - if he does not play again this season then we still have to pay his as coach, so another wage that is not freed up.
  3. once marwood is fit, then I think him and ball will be a good partnership, thommo will be a bit part player this season, however even though caldwell is a top scorer so far, i dont think he looks a natural forward.
  4. time for a change, last season Tommy Craig was vocal on the sidelines towards the players, now he has stepped up to the manager job he is even quieter than what DL was, their is no leadership on the park, as an example, no harm to cheesy but the poor guy doesnt know whether to play the ball short to mclean or osbourne or punt it long, to me that is all down to the instructions he has been given by the management team. you look at the bench today and its a worry that there is no-one we can bring on that will add a bit of dig in the midfield or take a bit of responsibility when things are not going well. mclean and mcginn in the middle together just does not work, the boy drury just looks out of his depth at present ( too lightweight ), cheesy is having a nightmare and we all know we have been shouting for a good number of years for a decent centre half, why this has not been addressed by the management team is beyond me, Sean Kelly must be sitting on the sidelines wondering what on earth he done wrong last season to be dropped. Lets not kid ourselves, this team at present is the poorest in years, we are too slow at attacking, there is no backbone in the middle of the team where it matters and no leadership from the touchlines.
  5. I thought Dilo was signed up on a 2 year contract
  6. This is possibly another wild rumour, heard that 2 Swedish businessmen have enquired about a possible takeover of the club.
  7. if an unknown american is interested then lets not slate them, confidentiality agreements or non disclosure agreements happen in all lines of business, if this guy wants to put in £500k a year over 3 years and the board accepts, then we accept him and get behind him just as we would if the 10,000hrs agreement happened. i personally think its good to hear about this as the 10,000hrs debate has gone stale at present.
  8. spot on, well said, just wish we could put this to bed now as its just getting very boring now,
  9. For those that say they will turn their backs on stmirren, good riddance to them I say, Christ sake guys grow up,
  10. Let's turn this around, when ever were fans voices heard loud and clear by the BOD's. The only time was when the team was doing bad and everyone was shouting for the managers head.So moving forward does that mean that every financial decision made by the BOD's on a daily, weekly or monthly basis should be put out for a fans vote.
  11. Yes that is correct, however if it was your company that was in danger and your BOD didn't give you a say them I'm sure you would be mighty peeved off. There are going to be no winners in this vote, the only losers will be the normal day to day staff at st mirren and other clubs.
  12. Ds10, I mentioned in another thread that IMO this should not be down to the fans to vote, financially it will not affect 99.9% of the fans, however it will affect the day to day people who are employed by stmirren where they could lose their job or even their home. If it was your job that was in danger and the risk of not being able to pay your mortgage, them I'm sure your vote would be different.
  13. spot on Sid and lets try and come up with more appealing options for areas such as the 87 club in order to get more fans on board,
  14. What a mess the whole scenario is - the cic takeover bid, the newco, voting yes or no. The people I feel sorry for are the staff that are employed by the teams within the SPL. These are the ones that are in danger of losing their job and in some cases it might be their home to. To ask fans to make this decision on the newco is a joke as financially it will not affect 99.9% of the fans on a day to day basis. If it was us that were in the possible position of us losing our job or possibly your home, would you vote yes or no, again I'm sure the majority would vote yes.
  15. thanks Div, appreciate this info, looking at these figures shows either that most fans on the 87 club membership are either thinking for £3000 it's too much money in the current climate, it's not value for money, or just don't have that sort of money to hand out, Has it been discussed by the powers to be of looking at a reduced subscription as a way of increasing numbers of the 87 club. I would hate to see a subscription drop on the £25k package to attract business people on board, whereas the 87 club members I'm sure are all life long StMirren supporters.
  16. Dick, agree with you on asking for numbers, I have put my name forward for the 87 club, but must be honest having second thoughts due to lack of information on numbers, here is another scenario, if the cic goes in with a lower purchase price to buy the club and this is accepted, then surely to get more fans onto the 87 club, then a revised membership fee could be looked at, it's obviously not worked on the £3000 cost, so why not drop this to £1500 and see if this can increase numbers, you never know it may sway some of the £10 a month members over to the 87 club.
  17. exactly, we have asked numerous times for actual figures, but never get any answers, plenty of reminders on the £10 a month membership numbers and how great this is, we need to put all this tiresome nonsense to bed and just wish we would just be told the truth, I'm sure there are many fans out there thinking this is just one total mess at present and doesn't exactly fill you with confidence.
  18. Looks like there will be no winners in the whole scenario, regardless of whether the vote is yes or no and also if the 10000hrs bid gets accepted.
  19. agree with you on this, just don't understand how we thought a decision on selling the club was going to happen until it was announced what was happening with the newco.
  20. My feelings at present is that the whole scenario with the newco and the 10,000hrs is all a complete mess, over the past couple of weeks, the fans were asked to sign up and sprwd the word in getting people signed up to the 10,000hrs and to be honest we just seem to be getting one delay after another which I don't feel very comfortable with.
  21. i know where you are coming from on this, just struggling to see where they are going to get a final rush onthe 87club membership,
  22. Already signed up for the 87 club , just pointing out that I believe the may have been a bigger take up on this membership if more information had been given to the fans on the emails that we have been receiving over the past few weeks.
  23. Would of been interesting to see how many people would have signed upto the 87 club at £3000 if this was allowed to be paid over a 3 year period a rather than an upfront payment. If this is going to be a big stumbling issue with the final bid, then surely this could of been an option a few weeks ago if it was noticed that the numbers were low.
  24. How many people have signed up for the 87 membership
  25. Not sure either although as you know difficult to monitor that without having some signed terms and conditions in place.
