  1. This week I have thought about little else other than the immediate fortunes of my beloved club. Something deep in my bowels is rumbling away to the effect that all is not well in the world. I just have a feeling that our board will regard Dan the soon to be ex manager man's position as untenable and he will be "visiting the buroo" before our match on Monday. I have no source on this, no inside information and nothing concrete other than a curry not sitting right and my elderly insight. Dan will not be with us long. The good news is that the new chap will inherit a fairly decent squad. This season can still be salvaged my forum friends, still be salvaged indeed.
  2. What will we have next a Bi-Polar bear costume?
  3. Today I feel like living dangerously. Life is too short and all that. Do something every day that scares you. Who dares wins and go for gold. With my daredevil Thursday attitude I am going to be reckless beyond comprehension. I have not read that article that the above link erm....links to. But I am going to say YES Sad thing is that I am probably right.
  4. Name them and allow us forum user's to discuss the merits of your impudence. Otherwise do stop being so silly.
  5. I have seen young Marc play. Many, many times during his career at our beloved club. Both in his first stint and his second. Now listen here you young f**ktard. Halfwits like you who abuse our players without justification are not supporters of our club but rather the opposite. The idiocy of the uneducated buffoon who abuses our players without any justification should be clearly identified and hounded out of Paisley society. Marc McAusland is one of the most important players at the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co. If he is going to be absent from the first team for any length of time then that could spell disaster for our beloved team's fortunes.
  6. I see you are one of the intellectually afflicted who insist on abusing young Marc. Bad post and in bad taste.
  7. If Marc McAusland is going to be out injured then our team are in real trouble (if we were not already). As much as the less intelligent of our forum user's like to abuse young Marc at every opportunity the fact is that he has been our best and most consistent centre half for quite sometime. Will we see a Darren McGregor and Lee Mair combination? Will Dan the under pressure manager man stick with James Goodwin at the back? Will Dan the under pressure manager man stubbornly insist on leaving Lee Mair out of the team? Anyway, I hope young Marc is okay.
  8. Ive not heard Sky mention that. They (Sky) have made an arse of a few scores tonight.
  9. Great post my Dougie Somner loving forum friend, great post indeed. Rather than jump straight into a 1987 celebration night could we consider a series of nights starting at the very beginning? 1) An 1877 themed night where the story of how our club came to be along with the personal journies behind our original line up and the people who made it happen 2) A 1926 revival night where (like the 1877 night) fans are encouraged to come dressed as someone from that era (ir we could just have both in the same night as the costumes wouldnt change) 3) The story of the Barcelona cup, the summer cup and our 1959 Scottish cup victory. The players behind the victory, the fans who followed and the effect that these victories had on our town, the town of Paisley. 4) A celebration of the 1987 Scottish cup win with fans reliving the memories of that night or what we remember of them anyway. 5) The millenium season re-visited along with our Challenge sup win. The poster to advertise this night could say "Did our bubble burst? come and find out or ssssshhhhhhh!". We could all dress up in shell suits or whatever the youngsters wore in those days. Anyway glad that you people who attended had a good night. I am liking the new social scene that the fans council are begining to create around Paisley's greatest club ever. Well done fan's council.
  10. Ah yes, no point indeed. I would normally type a long winded but highly intellectual reply (well I think so anyway and I am the centre of my own universe) but as I appear to have made a rip roaring arse of myself I will leave it as is in order to allow the other posters to view my unfortunate mistake. In other words you have me at a disadvantage. Did I ever mention that I think football should be played only on a Saturday? Well I do because.......ach Im away back to bed
  11. You appear correct, very correct indeed. The longer this week goes on without news of a managerial chopping the further my heart sinks because I cannot see us serve anything up on Saturday other than the dross we have come to accept and expect. The tactics that have failed us for the past months will not suddenly click before Saturday and I fear we will sink further into the abyss. On a cheerier note, I hope I am wrong and in 20 years from now, those of you whom are still alive, can look back at this time as the time that "Danny nearly got bagged" before we beat Aberdeen 4 - 0 and went on to win the SPFL for the first of 19 successive seasons and several Champions league wins. On a more realistic note I cannot see anything other than defeat as our schoolboy defending is awful and we may as well just give Aberdeen a one goal start. On a cheerier note If we win I shall take the current wife out for a celebration by way of a square meal and some alcohol. On a more realistic note it would appear likely that the current wife and I will spend another glum Saturday staring at the bloody television watching some twats dancing with professional dancing twats having had our mood destroyed by another humiliating defeat. On a cheerier note I will spend less money if the inevitable happens and we again lose thus meaning I may be able to pay at least part of my heating bill this winter.
  12. Why did you feel the need to start yet another thread on the subject of our current crisis? A post in the appropriate thread where the Dan the manager man is being discussed would have been the proper place to state your opinion as many other forum user's have done. I hope the mods merge this and issue you with a reprimand as it really is quite tiring now, quite tiring indeed. Anyway If the forum user's did not care then they would not even be discussing the current crisis so you are quite wrong sir, quite wrong indeed. People who want a change in management want such a change because they have the best interests of our beloved club at heart. Another thread, really?
  13. Unreasonable my forum friend, unreasonable indeed. It is glaringly obvious to almost all of us that the best thing for the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co is an immediate change in management so we can at least start a rebuilding process. As forum user's who care deeply about our club such a conversation is not only normal but rather healthy. If we, the supporters, were not interested in such a discussion regarding our immediate future then something would be well and truly amiss. This conversation is being conducted because people care and not in spite of it. I still think Kenny Shiels.
  14. Perfectly good point William, perfectly good indeed. Dan the manager man knew before today that results have been unacceptably poor and all that was required from him was to field a team that would turn in acceptable performances that are in line with the expectation of our support and board of directors. That did not happen. Angus McPherson on superscoreboard said that the remit of the manager of the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co was not to avoid relegation (as others on the panel and elsewhere in the footballing world seem to think is all we are good for) but to field a team that can move up the league into the upper echelons of the SPFL. In other words a top six finish is what Dan the manager man would have been told to deliver and what at interview I would imagine he indicated he was capable of doing. Quite simply he has failed to deliver on that reasonable expectation and with the team currently in full free fall it would appear that the performance indicator set out by the board of directors at the time his offer of employment was made is yet again unlikely to be achieved. Dan the manager man has not been stabbed in the back by anyone but has simply failed to fulfil the remit. We are all disappointed but the fortunes of our team are all that matters here and if Dan the manager man has to be jettisoned for the good of our team then so be it. I will even go as far as to say that if Dan the manager man is not replaced forthwith I will not only be very disappointed in our board of directors but rather angry as well. I feel for Dan the soon to be ex manager man but the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co is the focus of my attention.
  15. There will be more options than that Lex, many more indeed. I shall add some Kenny Shiels - my preferred choice as I like him. He is a character and the game needs characters like him. We would get improvement with him. Peter Houston - Experienced manager who won the Scottish cup and stuff That's all I can be bothered doing for now. PS We could expect improvement with Kenny Shiels as his debt ravaged Kilmarnock side out performed Dan the manager mans team every year.
  16. I sincerely hope it is not the last card that we play, it is the necessary card that must be played now but it had better not be the last. Why do I say this? We have a January transfer window still to come and hopefully the new man at the helm will realise that we badly need a centre half. It appears that Dan the manager man failed to notice this but we can all make an oversight as it could not have been that obvious? New manager now Tactics sorted now Areas of the team identified for strengthening January transfer window time brings new blood to our beleaguered squad 2014 suddenly becomes one to remember We still have a few cards left as we have hardly played any at all.
  17. They don't but in fairness the panel on superscoreboard on Clyde 1 have been talking about potential successors for Dan the manager man and with the inevitable now looming inevitably large such such discussions are inevitable. My favourite would be Kenny Shiels. Whilst many will disagree with me he did out perform Dan the manger man in the league at every opportunity and the press conferences would again be interesting. I vote for Kenny Craig Levein was spoken about on superscoreboard and apparently he is the name being banded about from a thing called twitter.
  18. Yes I agree totally. I am sure that Danny has done his very best and this community of forum user's has absolutely no right to abuse our Dan the manager man. It would have been best for all concerned had the appropriate action taken place two weeks ago but that was not the fault of Dan the manager man. He has done his very best, had one outstanding success but is now failing in his duties. He will always carry with him the best wishes of me and many other supporters of our fine club in whatever he does next. Yes his time is past due but we have no justification in abusing him.
  19. I was thinking about saying that exact thing. Just watch our crowds fall as the less devout amongst us must have better things to do on a Saturday. We are in a downward spiral and I am only thankful that Kilmarnock are as awful as us. Regrettably may I add but the inevitable is surely now that, inevitable. PS I am still scunnered
  20. This cannot be allowed to continue. Im still scunnered.

  21. I opened an account with Sky bet yesterday and I stuck a tenner on our beloved club to beat Hibernian. I feel I may have lost my £10 investment. My gambling career may be very short, very short indeed.
  22. Very little I would imagine Griff considering that Mr Rea is a singer/song writer and has absolutely no connections to the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co. I did enjoy "The road to hell". Mr Rea does have a gravel like quality to his voice.
  23. What will happen to the price of pies? What will happen to our season ticket prices? Shull needs answers
  24. I opened this thread expecting it to say McGowan was up front about Dan the manager mans position today. Paul McGowan was interviewed earlier outside his lawyers office when we approached him and asked him about the precarious nature of Daniel Lennon's employment status. Paul did not shirk any questions and said to our roving reporter "If he is not sacked by lunchtime then I think he will be alright but that leaves us nowhere. I mean I got a big fat contract out of Mr Lennon so I am hoping that he stays as long as possible although I cannot understand why he often plays me out of position, I really can't". But alas it was just someone else suggesting that we yet again play someone else out of position.
