  1. My thoughts are that a perfectly good speculation thread exists in the rumour mill section of this fine forum of ours. Should such a topic arise in that section of the forum then I would be happy to discuss such a topic and assert my opinion to anyone who will give me the time to read my post's.
  2. And I need one million pounds but I am not going to get it. Unusually I must disagree with you mon Shull. The team has been dreadful since that day and I am afraid that day is now just too long ago. It is not just the results but the manner of our performances and I am afraid, well at my age I am always afraid!
  3. Everyone sleep on it. No point in falling out with each other tonight.

  4. Absolutely. Mr Gilmour has been through a few manager's in his time so with a little thought you would not have needed to even ask the question (I don't mean that to sound as cheeky as it does by the way). Maybe he has not been given money so we can afford to sack him in order to bring I don't know, say.....Kenny Shiels in.
  5. I would love to agree with you, I really would but for the last 5 months our team has been in free fall. I think it is SPS who stated repeatedly that had it not been for the cup win then Mr Daniel Lennon would have been shown the door before now. I find that hard to disagree with because the record is absolutely disgraceful. Emotion's are running high this night so nothing will be gained by falling out with each other in the heat of the moment. Let us all sleep on it then with a clear head we can berate the dreadful performance of our beloved team and the managerial incompetence of our Mr Lennon in a much clearer and concise manner. Is anyone surprised by this evenings result? I am not but it does nothing to improve my mood and my mood is somewhat low, somewhat low indeed.
  6. Welcome to Paisley young man. Ignore the ramblings of the anti-fans that like to accuse other fans of not being fans when they themselves are being ant-fan thus not being a proper fan themselves. The supporters will support you as that's what us supporters do. I look forward to perusing your performance on Saturday and making a snap judgement as to whether you 1) Have got it or 2) Have not got it That said I have every confidence that you will be a 1). Make the most of this opportunity my boy, all the best, do it for yourself as much as us and go forth and make yourself a legend.
  7. I hope that this will illustrate exactly what such disgusting and damnable behaviour can lead to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_S7Uv60s2WQ And I wonder if Mr Dickson's "team" features in this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OFuG2nEEAI
  8. You have my total and unequivocal agreement my forum friend, total and unequivocal indeed. I would like to add to my left winger talk "your hair looks wonderfully blonde this week Mr Teale, be careful not to get it messy my fleet footed only winger"
  9. Really? The poor referee was actually subjected to the whole nasty and malicious verbal assault? The "coach" is very lucky that only the governing body are involved and not the Police. Surely most of us will agree that the best solution would be to lock up this evil man/woman and throw away the key. 90 years hard labour should just about suffice. I am now very worried about this poor chap/chapess who was refereeing this "sporting" event. Does anyone know the referee personally and where they live? It seems to me that someone should be checking on the wellbeing of this poor victim as we all know what seven bottles of milk on a doorstep can mean! As to why someone would post about such crimes on a footballing forum is entirely beyond me. Let us hope that justice shall prevail and this young fellow/fellowess can somehow recover and function in a manner that we can recognise as a human being. One word sums up this sorry affair "SHAME"
  10. I could do that job. Here is my team talk Addressing the goal keep "Haw Cornelius (that's my little nickname for him) save the ball when it comes to you and let nothing in" The right back and left back "Get forward when necessary, track back at the right times, tackle like men, pass properly and just bloody play properly and don't fanny around" The Centre Halves "Heed the ball, tackle, hoof it away and pass it at the right times" Central midfielders "Tackle, pass, harass, impress a lass and run quite fast" Right Winger "Mr Teale, its a pleasure to meet you. Do as you have been doing my friend" Left Winger "Tommy, I told you to sign a left winger, now we are buggered unless I play a central midfielder there" Striker(s) I don't care how you do it, just bloody score goals. Not exactly hard. Can I have 100k a year for that please Mr Gilmour?
  11. I think the disrespect shown toward a match official is absolutely appalling and I for one hope that the Scottish amateur football association (or whoever the governing body is) take the strongest possible action and delete any trace of this poorly run club from the annals of history. The referee who has kindly given up his/her free time to officiate at this soccer match needs to be protected from this overly aggressive type of behaviour. Such disgusting acts only serve to discourage fine young men/women from giving up such free time to assist others to engage in healthy sporting activity. Also the example set by a senior member of the soccer club (in this case the coach) toward younger men/woman is shameful and I am only thankful that such disgustingly poor behaviour is at last being tackled by the powers that be. Who does this coach think he is, some budding Neil Lennon? Do we ever hear the real Neil Lennon bleating about "the beaks" using any form of media? I only hope that the referee in this case does not let this obviously traumatic experience to ruin his/her love of the beautiful game and that they can somehow rise above this verbal mauling by a (most likely) common criminal and they can continue to function as decent members of society and hopefully even return to refereeing the soccer one day. Well done "the beaks". Someone has to stand up and be counted on behalf of the referee's and it is this sort of never say die attitude that kept the Nazi at bay. For every evil Neil Lennon clone there is an efficient and righteous official fighting for common decency and despite this sad, sorry little affair we can take some encouragement from the iron will shown by the good people trying to clean up football on our behalf.
  12. This is shaping up to be a right good game. Make no mistake about the Plastic Whistle, they will be coming to Greenhill Rd looking to take all three points. Patience amongst our support has been evaporating fast since that glorious day in March due to the appalling performances that our team have repeatedly dished up to an expectant support. The more tepidly natured amongst our forum flock will say things like "it is only three games in" and "its too early to judge". The fact is that pressure is mounting on Wee Danny and if is any sort of manager with talent then he will have his side pumped up and focused for what really will be an important game in our season. For a team that is certainly not short of experienced professional's it can be said that we have lacked leadership on the park. The rot needs to stop extremely quickly and we (the supporters) will be watching for the much fabled "reaction" from the players. Is this a big game for Daniel Lennon and the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co? You can bet both your buttocks that it is. The Maryhill scheme dwellers and the West End luvvies will be (quite understandably) expecting an easy 3 points and we, the supporters of our great and glorious club will demanding the exact opposite. I always look forward to the soccerball of a weekend but this one has that something extra. I am also glad to see Partick Thistle back at the top table of Scottish football. Now lets hear it COYS PS I do not know the double lines have appeared
  13. And I wonder why you insist on asking questions that you already know the answer to? In fact I am at a complete loss as to why you insisted on making what is (by your own admission) a completely pointless post. If you dislike my posting style then may I suggest that you put yours truly on "ignore" rather than needlessly swear. Such behaviour is neither big nor clever and I sincerely hope that you will refrain from such disgusting outbursts at the golf day itself. Anyway now that I have dealt with this naughty and pointless outburst may I say that I played a round at The Bushes this very day and the course is nothing short of magnificent. As long as undesirables such as the poster above behave in a proper manner then may I assert that we are in for a real treat on this golf day, a real treat indeed.
  14. You have missed my simple and straight forward point. I was merely enquiring as to whether Danny Lennon is confirmed as playing and making an assertion that he may not be able to keep that appointment as it would appear that his job is in extreme jeopardy. That said he could always get sacked but still turn up anyway although I must confess that I would find that rather embarrassing. Thank you for the information about your proposed topics of conversation during your round. I will talk about golf mostly but I may also discuss topics such as the weather, breakfast, dinner, the price of beer, what beer used to cost and my favourite public houses. Although why you felt the need to share such trivia is beyond me.
  15. Kenny Shiels would sort it out

  16. This is sad news, sad news indeed. Gerry is one of my all time favourite players and the world is a poorer place without him.
  17. Thomas Great post. your heartfelt emotion is clear for all to read and I salute your indepth knowledge that only us true supporters can truly have. The only issue I have with what you have said is........nothing, you are completely right and I am now firmly in the camp that wants to see wee Danny Lennon do anything with his life except manage my club, he is a failure and the league statistics that you illustrated underline this fact. In fact you should mention it at every opportunity as some people on this very forum will blindly follow wee Danny as they blindly followed Gus before him. Looking at our current first team playing squad I am actually quite pleased with the quality we have in most areas. This is probably the best collection of players we have had for quite some time yet Mr Lennon reduces them to urine. I am tiring very quickly of other clubs that are not even our equal out performing us at every opportunity and these failures have to be addressed and addressed now. Why can we not challenge for the top six? Why can we not even challenge for Europe? Our peers are and it is becoming tiresome.
  18. To be fair I am quite happy with our left back but other than that you have my total agreement. Heard any rumours about a new manager?
  19. Is Danny Lennon playing in this event? It is just that after today Mr Lennon will be lucky to remain in the employ of the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co. In such an event I hope that the powers that be at our fans council petition the board to ensure that any managerial replacement also plays golf. If Mr Lennon does keep his job and plays in my fourball I sincerely hope that he is somewhat more interesting on the golf course than he is in front of a television camera. I am almost bored to rem sleep thinking about his banter.
  20. Where wil he fit into our squad? Personally I think he may be 2nd choice right back, thus "sandwiching" him between Barron and Van Zanten He will get more recognition though as a member of our first team and may even feature on a "panini" sticker Hopefully he can cross a ball and "tea" a few up for the Thommohawk Im sure Danny will "egg" him on to sign for us but with the comings and goings his mind must be "scrambled" Its "bean" too long since we had a signing and this one is on a "plate" for us Hopefully he is comfortable "sitting in" but when the occasion arises can also "takeaway" I hope Danny just gets on with signing and does not "milk" it In any case it is about time we had something decent "served up" to us I cannot be the only one who is "hungry" for more. Its been said that he may be a "model" signing, I just hope he does not make a "big tit" of himself although if he does have a "nice arse" it may appeal to our female fans. Edited to add: Having just read Danny's comments on a post above it looks like "his tea is oot" The deal is "flat as a pancake" This has all been "overegged" or "over cooked" Its not been "well done" at all
  21. And I agree that whether Dickson or anyone else is a bellend or not, nobody should be telling me or anyone else what opinion's can and cannot be politely and directly communicated. There is indeed a plague of people running around the various threads yelling "you can't say that", "who are you to tell me that", "I think your a racist/bigot for no good reason", "this is not just a football forum you know" etc. If people want to discuss politics then they should go to a political forum where such discussion falls within the rules and the scope of the forum. Deary me Oaksoft, didn't you read about me fighting the Boer war to protect such decencies?
  22. Sorry Mr Dickson but you are making me quite angry. Nothing you have said is in any way true and all you are doing is running down my country without basis or justification. If that is your opinion then one must marvel at why you choose to live here? Or is it that you are just a blowhard who is guilty of typing without thinking? In any case you should leave my country as you are clearly not happy here.
  23. I am actually in agreement with that. In fact I am firmly of the belief that Tony Blair should be rotting in a prison for deliberately lying to parliament over the Iraq war. Tommy Sheridan is clearly a dishonest sexual deviant and the Lib Dems turn on a ha' penny at the slightest hint of any political advantage. Unfortunately the record of the Conservative party exposes them also as incapable, greedy and good for nothing and happily they will never gain any sort of decent vote in Scotland during my life time and that of any us currently inhabiting this planet. To be fair I shall cite only one reason for my total disgust of this party and I give you the poll tax that was forced upon Scotland before any other part of the UK. My Dickson has (accidentally I am sure) illustrated wonderfully why Scotland will be better off voting its own political representation for its own independent parliament to represent the people as the people wish. Westminster has woefully let the Scottish people down over the last half century and I for one will be proud to vote yes and I hope to see my country win its freedom in a way that we can all be extremely proud of (democratically and completely without bloodshed - Northern Ireland take note of the SNP) . I have also come to think that a football forum is not the place for such discussion and that in starting such a thread Mr Dickson has been a bit (accidentally I am sure) bellendy.
  24. Two words Pish Nish Four words Riordan is a bunnet Four words again Beggar's can't be chooser's
  25. I agree wholeheartedly with the original poster, agree wholeheartedly indeed! The new BT Sport channel is a most welcome addition to my television watching schedule that I do not really have. The first football match I watched on it was Partick Thislte Vs Dundee Utd and I was somewhat impressed with the standard of coverage and commentators. Gary Mcallister, Gordon Strachan, Jon Daly and Neil Warnock were all at Firhill to commentate/participate in the coverage. It was better than anything I have seen Sky produce since, well ever. Last night I watched England u21's Vs Scotland u21's and again the coverage was first class. Gary McAllister, Michael Owen and Stuart Pearce were all involved in the coverage and together a real in depth knowledge of football (both Scottish and them) was evident. Outwith these footballing matches I have also watched various other sporting shows and I must say knowledge of the Scottish game is much more evident than anything that the other lot have ever shown and I do mean ever. I do wonder if those jumping to the usual negative comments have actually watched the new Bt sport channel? My guess is they have not. In any case may I add my pleased voice to the echoes of congratulations aimed at British Telecom for this fine new sports channel. I must say I am now very happy that I moved my broadband from Talk Talk, very happy indeed.
