I find your assertion somewhat flawed. Your statement relies on a belief that God (a theological God I presume) actually exists. I must say this is a rather large assumption and one that I find quite baseless. I also struggle to comprehend why, if Mr Atkninson is succesful in his venture, this "God", creator of all living things would have to help us "all". If the Saint Mirren professional football club private ltd company is brought under the control of the fans I fail to understand why everyone would require help from a God. I have given this some thought and I simply cannot understand why certian communities would even be aware of our club, never mind requiring help from such a high level. An illustration of this would be, say the Chinese residing in China, I simply fail to understand why these people would be in any way affected by the fortunes of the Saint Mirren professional football club private ltd company. What form would this "help" be in? Again I cannot understand why a creator of worlds would wish to become embroiled in the detail of a football club and what help such a supreme being could possibly provide to each and every person or even why such a supreme being would want to provide help to each and every person. Another issue I have is that the fans co-operative is clearly in the best interests of our club as the damage that can be done by an individual has been illustrated quite clearly in recent events at other clubs.

I played golf today. I must say that things have changed since those wooden handled clubs I used to use. I also looked out of place in my tweed suit.

Being sceptical over such matters is a good thing, it shows that you care. What like about the whole proposal is the transparency and the need for votes on matters of importance. I never want to see a single individual own my football club again. You only have to look at the damage that has been done to the Govan tax dodgers (as good as that is) to see what a single persons mistakes can cost. The need for votes acts like a buffer. It is a democracy and to quote Winston Churchill (roughly) "Democracy is a poor form of government, but it is better that all the others we have tried". Carry on!

I had this thought earlier on today. One of the (many) benefits to society and Scottish football of this evil organisation folding will be that future teenagers/young adults who statistically would have been likely to become supporters of the Govan tax dodgers will now not do so. This should (in time) see increased gates at ALL other proper Scottish football clubs as all the evil buses that leave almost every town in Scotland to attend the southside of Glasgow will dwindle. This will happen anyway as the lure of the "gloryhunter) is already gone and we as a club will benefit from that as I am sure every other club will do so also. The only exception to this will be the business partners and pretend rivals of the Govan tax dodgers who will actually lose revenue as sections of that support also dwindle due to the lack of hatred filled derby games for them. Whilst television revenues may decrease in ther short term, proper clubs who have run the financial side of themselves properly will be able to adjust budgets accordingly and carry on! The very fact that the bigotted southsiders have been knocked from the preverbial pedestal will cause this effect anyway (if only to a small degree) but if they do get relegated or even better liquidated then the world will be a better place for us, our children and our childrens children. PS To address Shull's question, Yes, the Saint Mirren professional football club could capitalise on current events by winning this seasons Scottish cup and next years SPL. I did say "could"!

Although I expected this news I must admit that I nearly burst with joy when I heard it announced on Sky news earlier on this good day. Regardless of what is to come the fact that this evil entity have been brought to task and led to administration this will surely wipe the smile from the dangerous underclass that is one half of our shameful old firm support. Today is a momentous day, one that only 3 years ago would have been unthinkable by the majority of the general public. Today is a day when we can reflect on our own struggles with over-spending and financial battles and look back with pride at the honour and dignity that we can now boast of as our little professional football club (plc) rose from the chaotic mess. I am proud that Saint Mirren professional football club plc faced down its (financial) demons, rode the risks and now sits once again in the top division in Scotland. I am proud of the way that we operate within our means and I proud of the sportsmanship that this entails. I am ranting I know, but I am ranting happily!

No HSS I do not think you are. That said I still cannot stop smiling. I cannot help but think of the early 1990's when the Saint Mirren professional football club was fighting for it's very survival, poor result's, losing players to smaller teams and going within one goal of oblivion (Hugh Murray scored against Stirling Albion, I do not have the date to hand). Whilst all this was going on and our club bravely came through it's darkest hour these criminal's were cheating the football world in buying player's, buying success and even failing to pay it's way by means of proper taxation! A day of joy for all fair minded Scottish patrons.

I try not be someone who gloats but on this, Monday the thirteenth day of February 2012 (two thousand and twelve or 13/2/2012) I will ignore my normal persona and treat myself to a right good gloat! Truly I must thank the Govan tax dodgers for the joy they have brought me this day. The smile on my face is the brightest and most joy ridden it has been since we beat the same tax dodging criminal's on Christmas eve (the 24th day of december 2011). Could this be the begining of a renaissance for Scottish football and Scottish society? Could this be a "levelling" of Scottish football's playing field? Could this be a bright new dawn (not a literal dawn but a euphemism) for our beloved sport in Scotland? I would enjoy expanding on these point's that I have raised but for the time being I shall refrain from doing so. I will however express my utter joy and leave you (my fellow forum user's) with a few point's to ponder: Think of all those years when the Govan tax dodger's beat our beloved professional football club with player's they could not afford and should never have had! Think of the utter reprobate's who taunted us with the "Paisley loyal" banner and ask why they have abandoned the club that they the claimed to be so passionate about? And finally, when the reprobate's speak in defence of the tax dodger's of Govan and profess loyalty to Queen and country, ask them just how many bullet proof vest's the British government would have been able to buy our troop's (fighting for Queen and country) with the 42 million pound's that the tax dodger's have fraudulently witheld from HMRC? Rejoice fellow football supporter's REJOICE!

On this short quote of yours Shull I have to voice my complete agreement. The fortunes of the Saint Mirren professional football club plc are obviously at stake here and with the recent developments at the Govan tax dodgers and the Midlothian overdraught extenders the risks of the preverbial knight in shining armour (an expression and not literal, if the new owner wishes to dress in shiny armour this is unlikely to have any effect detrimental ot otherwise on that persons ability to run a football club). The good news is that the current situation for the Saint Mirren professional football club plc is indeed a very healthy one and I sincerely hope that our situation does not differ in any great detail from the situation we currently have. If the supporters are ultimately able to purchase the majority of the club then I will be confident that the prospects of the Saint Mirren professional football club plc will remain positive. I do not want to see anyone come into our beloved professional football club and run in any way that puts our beloved professional football club at financial risk.

This is a very un-tedious subject and I also had the same reaction as you upon hearing that very interview, my mouth opened and an almost silent "wow" was produced. That Johnstone fellow is a very clear speaker and I was happy to listening to him, The bit nearing the end of the broadcast wherupon Mr Johnstone sighs as he speaks then goes on to state something like "as someone with some knowledge about this, I cannot say I am comfortable that further revelations will not come out"! Putting the double negative aside that was quite a statement and If fans of that dank and fowl club had brains, they would be worried. I do have a brain and Im rather chuffed! Indeed im giggling into my cremola foam as I type.

I dont know why someone would say such a thing about a fellow fan who wants to use the same forum and comment on the same things that that person does in a very similiar way. Nothing tedious here buster, its all go go go with the big Tee Tom.
