Isle Of Bute Saint
Cant say I am a fan of cider however at the recent Bute Fest there was a cider on tap called Thistle cider. Couple of mates were drinking it as I'm more a lager drinker. They told me to try theirs. WOW wonderful stuff very easy to drink and not too strong on the apple flavour in fact I could not taste apple. Now some supermarkets are stocking it Sainsbury Braehead have got it well worth a try. Guest TPAFKATS
As it didn't taste of apples, did it taste of thistles?
Isle Of Bute Saint
As it didn't taste of apples, did it taste of thistles?Well they have all kinds of different flavours including strawberry. They use champagne yeast apples and different fruits to give it a flavour like no other cider. at 6 volume its strong stuff
Seaside Nipper
There's a smart American cider, an old barmaid acquaintance of mine just loved , it's Dickson's Cider, pretty boisterous and slightly bitter sweet.
scrappy coco
Tried Thistle cider once but didn't like it, it leaves a stingy taste in your mouth... Edited August 25, 2015 by scrappy coco

FS
Tried it on tap, thought it was a bit syrupy a bit like the juice from a Del Monte tinned fruit can. A decent draught cider just now is Thatcher's Gold, also try the American bottled cider Angry Orchard, both available in most Wetherspoons joints or off the shelf in Asda. kevo_smfc
Not tried the Thistle cider, though still can't beat a bottle of Merrydown medium.
