Buddymarvellous
Heard a friend od Eric's on radio Scotland this morning telling of how he 'looped the loop' round the Forth bridge when testing a top secret version of the Spitfire . Winkle was a true hero and Scotland should be proud of him.
rabuddies
I hope the BBC show the smashing documentary that they ran last year as a wee tribute. It was funny when he was explaining how he was the first man to land a jet on an aircraft carrier - the only snag being the recommended approach and landing speeds were way below the stall speed of the jet. Most unassuming and charming man. RIP.
strummer
What a guy..Belsen alone must have been horrific but to live the life he did was amazing. A can of beer in his honour tonight.
