My generation - Patti Smith (bonus track to horses)

Good one, Rothesay. That's an excellent version with a nice wee change in lyrics:-

"I don't need that fu/cking shit,

Hope I die because of it".

That's a top album as well.

"We created it, let's take it over."

the concert was from tiffanys in glasgow around 82/83 ..they done a great "october" heavy bass then straight into" tomorrow" classic.

one great line in the gig is when bono shouts in mid "two hearts beat as one" larry mullen plays yamaha drums.

if you want a copy pm me and i'll copy and send it on,free!!!!!!! :o

Oh, it's YAMAHA drums. For years I thought it was "Larry Mullen plays piano & drums".

Wouldn't mind a copy of that. I taped over the start of it so I missed Gloria and part of I Threw A Brick. Plus the fact, it's a feckin' old tape and will probably get chewed if I play it.

Tiffany's gig it was indeed. A great set. During Seconds he forgets the words but goes "Gonna make it up as I go along, don't care if it's right or wrong".

Ah the memories!

"Good night, God bless you, thank you. This is Out Of Control".

Don't think I have 5 but...

1. Faster by the Manics, Livingston Forum or whatever it was/is called

2. You Love Us.... again by the Manics, white backdrop, images of Richey. Had it not been for the 16 year olds going "What song is this? Who's the fourth guy in the videos?" it would have been number 1.

3. The End - Riders on the Storm (Doors cover band, Cathouse...way too powerful PA)

4. Jesus and the Mary Chain - No specific song

5. "Oh When the Saints" - the 80's version, pre-techno speeded up remix that the kids sing now.

1. Stranglers, No More Heroes

2. Clash, White Riot

3. AC DC Whole lotta rosie.

4. Jam, In the city

5. Skids, Albert Tatlock

Joe, wasn't that Skids song actually called TV Stars? I know the chorus was "ALBERT TATLOCK!!!!" but I'm sure the title wasn't.

Donga, Weld is a great album. Superb versions of Powderfinger, Cortez The Killer, Like A Hurricane & Rockin' In The Free World.

Incidentally, I heard a cracking version years ago of Like A Hurricane by Roxy Music. Worth checking out. I think it was a mini live album called The High Road. I could be wrong. I could be right. As some bloke once said.
