bazil85 Posted November 25, 2024 Report Posted November 25, 2024 Late to the party but a tremendous performance and result. Bar a time in the second half, we were the better team. Showed great resilience when they pulled it back to 1-1. A few specifics. I thought Balcombe was solid. No chance for the goal, and made some big saves. The goal assist as well, would have been easy for a keeper to put that right out the park but he kicked it into a dangerous area & Olusanya did Olusanya things. Respect to McGrath, didn’t really celebrate the goal much, just acknowledged his teammates. Nice to see after what the Saints did for his career. The far side linesman, an utter cock. For me that wasn’t incompetence it was sheer bias, multiple times. The fans, staff & volunteers that got the game on, legends. Quote
CraigyBoy Posted November 25, 2024 Report Posted November 25, 2024 Agree with most of the above - we looked solid at the back , way more creative going forward . Complete night and day from the shambles against United The sheep rarely threatened , their goal was lucky - unbelievable stroke of fortune that the mis kick arrived perfectly for McGrath- other than that they could have scored 40secs into second half but nothing else .. Our pressing was superb - they played the ball out from the back which is their Managers style of play , but after stringing 10-15 passes together they ended up regressing back in yards and that was down to serious hard yards from our front 3- phenomenal effort 👍👍 It was a great atmosphere and the players and manager duly delivered Definitely looking above us and not below Quote
beyond our ken Posted November 25, 2024 Report Posted November 25, 2024 Gutted to miss it but myself and the missus are under the weather and the delayed kick-off justified the decision not to attend-right up until we took the lead. Looking forward to the next couple of games, run up to Christmas is always my favourite part of the season Quote
