  1. So we are now comparing one outburst to a serial drugs cheat and suggesting her standing as probably the best woman tennis player ever is going to be defined by one outburst on a tennis court. We live in a era where everyone seems so easily offended, appalled and are far too judgemental. Oh and I think the 'poor lass' (her name is Naomi Osaka by the way) might find some comfort in the $3.8 million prize!!!
  2. I'm sure she will be bothered about a nonentity on a St Mirren forum finding it difficult to call her a lady. Emotion is a big part of any world class sportsman or woman. She might be the most famous sportswoman in the world right now and is just getting back from almost losing her life in childbirth. She has dominated a sport for 20 years and has been a fantastic role model, particularly to women. So get off your usual high horse and cut her some slack. You make a point of saying she's a female player. Good spot!! Am i sensing a bit of sexism.? Oh she's a woman and shouldn't behave like that? Have you watched men's tennis and witnessed some of their antics? And would a male player have been docked a game in the same circumstances? I think not.
  3. Amateur hour... or hour and a half!! Schoolboy mistakes against maybe the best team in the world equals yet another embarrassment for the Scottish team!!
  4. FFS!!! He will be a better manager than you are at punctuation!! One thing is for sure he will not be worse than Stubbs. Unfortunately he's been left with very little to work with. If he keeps us up it'll be a better achievement than Ross winning the league!
  5. Another brilliant thread. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and wit with us! I assume you mean Alan Stubbs? That's with one L and a capital A.
  6. The only surprise would be if anyone was surprised at the result or performance. For the guy who asked us to back the manager, back the team and grow a pair, I hope he grows a brain that can register what has happened to our football club in 3 short months!!! Here is what will happen. That team will not win another SPL game this year, We will be the Brechin of the SPL but without their heart, hard work and fight! We all thought Alex Rae, Ian Murray and Tommy Craig were bad. This buffoon top trumps them all. There is not ONE positive word to say on Alan Stubbs time at St Mirren. Heartbreaking to see all the feelgood factor evaporate in such a short space of time. He's a dead man walking, but even when he goes he leaves behind a f**king disaster that is going to take years to sort. As St Mirren fans we are used to ups and downs but this is leaving a very bitter taste. Gutted for all the supporters who went and bought season tickets on the euphoria of the last 2 years only to be shat on from a great height by a useless manager, non league signings and loanees who simply are no where near the quality required and a squad with absolutely no balance whatsoever. Sad doesn't even begin to describe it!!
  7. One word for today's display. Embarrassing! Sorry I've seen enough from Stubbs to know he's way out his depth. A left back who can't defend (not his fault as he's said he's not a left back), a centre back who runs like he's got a HGV tyre on his back, a goalkeeper who will cost a goal every second game, a £75000 centre back who is now apparently fourth choice, Cooke and King another 2 signings who can't get a game, 3 senior pro's told they are not good enough and to look for another club (really!! is he watching who is playing in front of them) I said after the Dundee game if we went with that back four we would be relegated by Christmas. The rest of the team seem to be joining in!! Stephen Mcginn was almost anonymous today and so many others playing out of position. Do not get me wrong I did expect to lose the game today but not with no shape, no fight, no skill no nothing really. 4-0 flattered us. They created their first chance in 6 seconds and it could easily have been 8,9 or 10. Desperate times guys. Anyone who can take anything positive from today is delusional. What we do about it with a 3 year contract I have no idea. It'll take a miracle to turn this round.
  8. In case you didn't notice we played against 10 men today for an hour. You'd never have known. Not that games against the bigot brothers will determine where we finish this season. Another game next week we are not expected to win followed by a must win game against Livi. Hopefully by then the squad will be bigger and better. My worry is Stubbs was a pretty good centre half, so you'd think he'd know a good one when he see's it (especially if you are willing to pay £75,000 for one) So far none have been convincing and Jack today gives them a goal. I hope I'm wrong and he's seen something in them many of us haven't. PS Cooke and King look no where near good enough as well.
  9. Maybe he should sue the company that made his specs as he clearly didn't see the ball coming towards him!!
  10. We did win 2-1... More nonsense, drivel, rubbish, crap, piffle and bollocks (I know you enjoyed my last set of synonyms) from Bud the Baker. As a wise man once said "If you don't have anything intelligent to say best to say nothing".........
  11. Some posts on here are so stupid, unintelligent, idiotic, brainless and moronic they really do not merit anyone wasting their time with a counter argument!
  12. You are entitled to your opinion, and I admire your optimism, I just don't share it. I note you do not argue with any of the points I make about our new manager. As for Tony and Gordon, I am sure they are seeing a lot more than we are. Lets hope they can help turn this round.
  13. Wonder how the Stubbs interview went... Look Gordon, Tony, I'm going to go to sign players from English Non League football to compete in the SPL. I'll tell the fans 2 big signings are on the way long before the deal is over the line and when it doesn't happen I'll say its difficult out there at the moment in the market. I will tell 3 senior player (all under contract) that they have no future at the club creating unrest and destroying team spirit that has been the catalyst to St Mirren's success over the last 2 years. I'll take the players to Spain and have absolutely no structure to the day and no real plan. In my interviews I'm going to sound as if I really couldn't care less and have as much personality and charisma as a cold fish supper. I have no idea how I want to play the game or what formation I will play so don't be surprised if we can't beat amateur teams like Spartans and Queens Park. Thanks Alan...have a THREE year contract!!! Worrying doesn't even begin to describe the situation we are in just now. Feel good factor destroyed in just a few weeks and almost 4000 season ticket holders who bought their tickets before this whole debacle started shat on from a great height!
  14. All about opinions. Ours differ on both Samson and Stelios
  15. We completely dominated the game against a woeful Falkirk team. Samson makes a world class save from the penalty but then shows why we need a new keeper as he can't deal with ANYTHING in the air. And Stelios well..... was Stelios!!! Just remember this used to happen EVERY week not so long ago!! Roll on Saturday with a full team, full house home win and a massive party
  16. Ok so who are you dropping from a team that has lost once at home in 14 months??? Jack has been very loyal to the players who have got us in this position so I do not see him starting. However I think he should have got longer on Tuesday and agree that he does have something to offer from the bench.
  17. My point was that if we adopt the same tactics against Livi (and we surely will not) they will stroll through the game. A long throw for this St Mirren team is like having a gun with no bullet! If you do not agree then let's agree to disagree and leave it there. For the record John Sutton did not win a single header (and nor did any other St Mirren player from the throws) but did create a chance for himself. Had that gone in it really would have been Roy of the Rovers Stuff!!! (For those of you old enough to remember the comic ) Hypolyte did well to get in behind them late on but unfortunately thrashed at the ball when a little more composure was required. If we are to beat Livi on Saturday it will be by playing football on the deck, getting in behind them and being able to cope with being kicked up and down the park.
  18. In case you have not noticed Livi are a HUGE team!! We are..... well.......NOT!!!
  19. Couldn't disagree more. The throw ins were easily defended by United and Livi will be delighted if we resort to that on Saturday.
  20. Yeah long throw ins to a team of midgets against a team of Giants. Great tactics!! Really worked on Tuesday! You're not Alex Rae are you? We have not played long ball football all season and if we do on Saturday Livi will stroll through the game.
  21. If Dunfermline beat Livi midweek and then Morton take something off them on Saturday we would be Champions with a win at Brechin on the 7th
  22. I'd have thought 38 pages of guesswork and speculation would have been enough for one week!
  23. To be honest I am sure St Mirren board, players, management and fans could have done without the distraction. Lets hope normal service resumes on Saturday.
