In my opinion , Stubbs knew he was going to sign Cody Cooke when he withdrew Reilly offer , and if Cooke proves to be the better of the two , then well done Stubbsy , as for Reilly he had his chance , then moaned when the contract offer was withdrawn , I don't think he was ever interested in accepting the offer , he just wanted it on the table as a bargaining tool. Seem to remember him going to the papers saying he never gave the offer sufficient attention because his wife was due to give birth , which is fair enough that he considers his other half as much as he considers his football career , and thats the bit I cant understand , with such a young family , why move so far away from home ( unless his partner is from Bristol .

I'm So Excited For The Season Ahead

I don't think Cookes a gamble , and don't think he,s come up here to play reserve football for sweeties . he has given up a decent job , and part time wages with a decent level non - league club , and he,s up sticks and moved about 500 miles from home , so he,s bound to have been offered a decent wage , likewise Stubbs would have assessed his Strength , fitness , ability and attitude before making a move for him , I,m expecting him to be a big strong lad who will unsettle defences . looking forward to next season very much , I,m thinking there will only be three or four scots born players in our starting line up , and it doesn't bother me the slightest . my understanding is , that its %30 of any transfer monies received over £100,000 , and we won,t be entitled to any further sell on fees , should meatball be transferred again.

see no reason why we cant beat Queens Park , Spartans and Dumbarton , I think the amount of height and strength we have in the team should see us win those games , and hopefully a couple of new faces , and we should progress nicely . I'm pleased with how we,re progressing . Though in all fairness my opinion could change on one poor performance ( like it did after the Thistle game last season ) , its a funny old game. -
my feeling regards all of the signings we have made so far , is that they all have the potential to improve with right coaching and the right attitude , I,m quite happy with how things are progressing , the proof of the pudding though is when the season starts , I think Heaton will be the outstanding signing , based on youtube clips I have seen of him , and the managers assessment of him over a five day trial . Really looking forward to watching the big fella stuck in , he plays like he fears nobody.

Very much my opinion , worth paying a transfer fee for , and even inserting sell on clauses in Inverness,s favour , excellent player , would also go for Gary Warren
-
hope they are working on corners , if the world cup is setting the trend for referees , theres going to be loads of penalties being given away at corners , a couple of giants in the team will be quiute handy.

Alan's first signings

googled it Billy your correct , remember Bobby Ham from that game too , gre3at name for a footy player , interestingly enough both Bobby Ham and Pat Liney played for Bradford Park Avenue -
hope he can persuade Polworth and Warren to join us from ICT , add to that 4 decent loan signings , and that's us with a right decent squad.

Pat Liney ? Remember watching him play for Bradford Park Avenue against Spurs on MOTD during the late sixties , and my dad saying the keeper was a Paisley lad . -

I'm liking the fact we have signed young enthusiastic players , who have potential to improve , a couple of loan players and a couple of experienced players and we,ll have not a bad squad , interesting to see what kind of football we will play , but very happy with how things have progressed this week . Would even be quite happy if we took a risk with Stokes or Miller or both , might even make an effort to watch one of our pre season warm up games. -
Back to topic , would be nice to hand over three monthly spend to the club in return for SMISA members getting free entry for pre season friendlies .
-
Thinking Stubbs saw we had a Gavin Reilly , who was waiting for a better offer to come along , and replaced him with a gut from England , who is desperate to play for us . Also the fact Stubbs spent a week with these non league guys , gave him the opportunity spot the real team

I think it looks interesting , two big lads , that would certainly benefit from Hippolytes long throws , need a player with a bit of pace and trickery now to give us a bit of width . Watched interviews of both new signings , and both come across as sensible lads who feel that they can improve as football players , so the kind of player we should be signing . A couple of sensible loan signings , and a couple of experienced SPL players , and I,ll be quite happy with how our squad is progressing . -
Totally agree , its not as if the contract offer was put on the table the day before his wife gave birth , and removed two days later . He got caught out , and he knows it . Still would have liked to have kept him though .
-
Well it like Stubbs has looked at the offer on the table and thinks the money could be better spent , shame though as I thought Gavin always put in a hard working shift , that would have suited us in the SPL . Wonder if Gavin would have actually signed the new contract offer on the table , or just wanted to have that option to get a better deal elsewhere ?

The 4,000 season tickets is " Fitzy counting " , we have probably sold 1400 and he,s just two free kids to every season ticket sold to talk the numbers up
-
Rice was not a bad player back in the day , think he stays in Stirling area ( or used to ), so probably quite s good move for him . I wish Stubbs well with his appointments , and think Rice will do well for us , but it does look like a manager " seeing his mates alright "
-
Inverness were not a bad footballing team last season , Rice must have had something to do with that .

Gie us a signing , and make it a decent one -
A couple of signings that look good on paper , and a couple of pre season friendlies where we play with a bit of style and we,ll all be happy again
-
Wondering if Stubb,s will appoint a couple of player / assistants .

The scouting network sounds feasable enough to me , probably guys happy to watch ten games a month for free ,
