  1. If it was a young inexperienced player that came out to defend like that would be a bit excusable. Tanser is experienced.
  2. Not a lot he could have done???? Not run with his arms out to defend perhaps. Would get it in the neck for that on Sunday league
  3. Just a thought, I'm not 100% on this one but I'm sure somebody will remember. When we signed brophy I think he was out injured at killie. For a player of 26 to be as injury prone is either a worry or there is something amiss with the player. Can make a comparison with Dennis when he was here, suffered a serious injury but obviously work hard with rehab to get back into the team and indeed is still doing well at carlisle and ready for a 46 league game season.
  4. Hopefully brophy. We can't afford to pay big wages to someone who seems to be constantly injured.
  5. Unfortunately I think one or two would have to go first.
  6. Agree, although did start to be a bit better towards the end of season. However surely his medical prior to signing would have flagged up his long-term injury that required surgery.
  7. On the subject of unproductive players on big salaries. Sorry to put it plainly, brophy, a perfect example. I really don't see this season being any different.
  8. I didn't realise til other day that JG had signed him. In the same respect with posts that were made about us being beaten by Northampton, they had signed a player called Danny Huylton who had been a regular for Luton for a few years. Although into his 30s, a really good striker. Another out of our wage range.
  9. Apart from the Glasgow 2, the Edinburgh 2 and Aberdeen probably don't feel the need to sell potential future assets for lets face it ridiculous sums like the 125k allegedly for Dylan Reid who could be worth so much more in future or indeed sell for low amounts with God knows how many sell on clauses which no guarantee of future payments.
  10. Having watched quite a few Wycombe games over the last 2-3 seasons with their playoff matches and indeed some of their championship games, Anthony Stewart would have been a good signing for us. I would assume we wouldn't have been able to compete with Aberdeen's wages. Doesn't help that they have been able to offload some valuable asset players in order to rebuild.
  11. Kind of mad signing we are capable of to be fair
  12. Really!!! Quite a shocking thread really. Just incase you didn't know @Sue Denim you have to have fantastic ability to make it to professional level of football. Some take longer than others to settle into a new team. Some it takes them to get their confidence going if they have had it smashed to bits at previous club. Slating s new player after 3 games, wow. Stick to posting crap on covid thread. You are good at that.
  13. Ahh proper Paisley!!! Fair enough i didn't come along until 72 but more or less the same from what I remember.
  14. A most sensible attitude towards your holiday as there are some who would still go ahead 'because they could'.
  15. I remember the poll tax very well indeed being threatened with court action, etc over 34p. Some things never forgotten. Had he not sacked a certain Dominic Cummings then I'm pretty sure none of this would have come to light.
  16. Formula e can only be used on shorter lap amounts due to charging for now. I cannot see a formula e race lasting 70 laps of an F1 circuit for example, tech won't allow it. F1 however has been I'd say watered down over the years with all card starting with full tanks instead of some team doing 'splash and dash stops to try and make them more competitive. Like @Callum Gilhooley said it is the pinnacle of motorsports and should be treated the same. Risks or not. Same as TT racing in IOM, they know the risks.
  17. I think in hospitals anyway there are far too many levels of managers etc. Understandably there has to be some structure but especially what I've seen in West cumberland hospitals, it is a bit excessive. Also what they have been doing at said hospital is they have been getting more staff to take up NHS contracts instead of extended time on locums wages which can be more than double.
  18. I like his take that attitude and fitness are free....... Maybe the team took adjusting to that last season after the emphasis was be difficult to beat. Maybe thats why some ended up leaving at end of contract because their attitude wasn't right. Only Alnwick has bettered his career imo.
  19. I think in the past Ross would think he could easily get one over JG when it came to players. It would appear that SR is a totally different prospect as if for say Ross sneaks in and signs a SR target, I can imagine SR would already have a few targets already primed just in case. A now think SR is very old school being that players will have a use but then moved on to be replaced in an evolving squad and not hold onto players because he feels he has to.
  20. Not as if he hasn't done it before...........
  21. Can see him ending up with us. Same type of player as gogic, plays both defence and midfield. And SR knows how he can play too.
  22. Ah well never mind, in saying that I don't think SR was hanging about waiting for him to make up his mind. Possibly a move for O'Connor ex morecambe using the budget set aside for gogic
  23. Should maybe get in contact with Forest Green, after all they signed McAllister............ They can keep each other company on injury list
