  1. I don’t get that though Div. Why does creating a TD role provide continuity? What if the TD is doing a shite job and needs to get sacked? Why are we assuming that it will be the manager who would be getting the tin tack? In fact if Oran is in as Manager and Gus comes in as TD, I know who my cash would be on (if any) for doing the shite job.
  2. You have completely lost me with that gibberish? First of all I’m not sure what format you view this forum in, but the one I use the thread title is in big bold lettering with the author below in much smaller, fainter greyed out font. Your attention is drawn to the title long before the author. In fact the vast majority of the time I open a thread title without even noticing who the author is. My point was that I can usually tell yours by either the negative or incendiary tone of the title. The gobbledygook in your second para is lost on me? Something about saying your post was pointless which I didn’t do. Perhaps you meant something else. Perhaps if you’d written it in English it would have been clearer.
  3. Spot on Elvis. In the same way you can always tell a Ricky thread from the title, you can always tell a LPM thread too.
  4. I have no personal issues with Gus in relation to his time with us. He did a good job and then went stale, so it was time for a change. My issue is twofold. 1) I’m not convinced our club needs a Technical Director role on top of all the other roles. 2) If it’s decided that such a role should exist, then I don’t think it should be performed by one of our ex managers.
  5. You said strikers not attackers. Arguably he had 4 strikers on the park at one time, Rasmussen, Fortune, Keane and Samaras, but that was only from the 75th minute onwards. McGeady was an attacker, Ki was an attacker. It’s perfectly normal to have 5 or 6 attackers on the park at the same time, especially late on in a game when you’re getting gubbed.
  6. Don’t know if I’m missing something, but I feel dead against this. I want OK to run the club without interference from anyone, let alone someone who was previously our manager. Just feels all wrong to me. Time will tell.
  7. Well ye ken whit ah mean Boab. Am no sayin a clap ma hauns n shout ees name. Ah just tend tae agree wi maist ay ees posts oan here. Especially the wans that say Boab’s a big jobbie.
  8. I’m a fan of Drew, but in fairness that was pretty funny!
  9. Just had to edit the above for absolutely atrocious grammar. Unfortunately it’s preserved forever by the swines that quoted me!
  10. This is more like it!! Looking back my 1am post seems a trifle ranty and over the top but my general point still stands. That negative Scottish attitude gets my goat. I thought last night was a really positive performance. As ever we gave ourselves a few hairy moment with sloppy passing but in reality MacGregor had to make one save of any note. Scotland on he other hand totally dominated the game, created umpteen chances and with better finishing or less last ditch defending by Albania we would have won even more comfortably than we did.
  11. This thread is a f**king embarrassment. No wonder we became the first country ever to reject independence when we are populated by such a bunch of self loathing cunts. we just comfortably disposed of a country who have qualified for a major tournament a damn sight more recently than we have and who have given plenty of decent team a hard time, yet it seems the vast majority on here sound like old firm, entitled twats. I f**king despair.
  12. Just googled it. We had 12 guns while they had 10. The 6 mortars might have swung it for them mind you! And by the use of “we” above, I do not presume to have decided everyone’s political persuations, just my own. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Culloden
  13. Nah 59er. There was definitely guns on both sides. Tedious Tom telt me and he should know, he was there!
  14. In fairness, unless I’m mistaken, on this occasion I think Ricky is merely saying you’ll be a loser in the sense that you’ve effectively paid for a ticket and you’re not going to use it. Maybe you should let someone have it who wants to go. If I was in Paisley I’d take it off you. Each to their own, but whenever I go to a home game against the OF, I certainly don’t waste any of my time or energy listening to the pish they spout. I’m fair to busy watching the game and cheering on the Buddies.
  15. Aye and the Jacobites and the French shot their bolts before a baw was kicked, charging up the park like a bunch of dafties. Never a great idea when yer already doon tae 7000 men against 8000. The Billy Brits just cleaned up after that.
  16. Have to completely disagree with you LargsBud on the Tartan Army front (unless things have changed in the last few years). I called a halt to my TA travels after the Levein strikerless debacle in Prague. I’d had enough then. However for about the 12 years prior to that I attended every competitive away game Scotland played and a good few friendlies too. The only times I ever saw a heavy police presence was in Kiev and Croatia. The Kiev police may very well have saved our lives from literally the only football violence I ever saw in my entire travels. In Croatia we travelled to Koprivinca for the U21 game the day before the big team played. A police escort took us from the station to the stadium entirely for our own protection. I must’ve attended about 50 odd Scotland away games and those are the only two occasions I can remember a police presence of any note.
  17. I saw that TV adaptation, I imagine if they were reunited Brookmyre would murder him, in the same way they murdered his book Never saw it but I’m assuming Nesbit played Jack Parlabane which is a ridiculous notion. Did he put on a Scottish accent or did he play it as an Irishman?
  18. Absolute classic LPM on this thread. Because the details of Alan Stubbs’s contract is not a matter of public record, apparently it is ridiculous for someone to speculate that he might only be due a one year pay off. However, despite having no more inside track than any one else, it is ok for him say that the notion of a one year pay off is ridiculous and that it would of course be 3 years. Couldnae write it. Now I’ve spoken out against LPM and I’m not going to be at the next home game, how on earth am I supposed to arrange my F2F. He might have to consider some sort of online booking system to cope with the traffic. Not the one St. Mirren use though.
  19. I was actually thinking who the hell is that with McGarvey. That looks absolutely nothing like Brian Doherty. I genuinely didn’t know who it was.
  20. I can help you with the bit in bold TC. He’s going to be absolutely shite. Hope that helps. Are you suffering from getting it so spectacularly wrong about JR that you’re frightened of making an arse of yourself again? Dont think you need to worry this time. He really is hopeless.
  21. Like I said DJ. It was never designed to be helpful. Just disruptive. And I can’t believe that my Nostradamus like prediction that we would lose came true. I should take up punditry with knowledge like that.
  22. Disagree on two points Billy. The gulf between Celtic and the rest is not just about the money they make from their supporters. They’ve made a fortune out of even the most disappointing European campaigns as well as hoovering up the bulk of whatever tv money we get up here, year after year after year. Secondly you referenced the Celtic team we beat twice at Parkhead during the 77-78 season. They were anything but a good team. They were hopeless. They finished 5th in the league that season about 20 points behind Rangers and Aberdeen at a time when it was still only 2 points for a win. We finished 3rd bottom and Celtic were only about 6 points ahead of us at the finish.
