  1. Was there not one on Ferguslie where they built the John Neilson Comprehensive? What, me, no. I was educated in an Institution.
  2. Surely those who want a greater democratic say in how things are run have a beef with SMISA and how their representatives behave on the board. You have to sort out SMISA before you can influence the board. Does SMISA membership give you a vote at the AGM. No, it's shareholders who vote at the AGM. If you want your voice heard on every issue - I for one would love to hear how you plan to do it as it's the major flaw in fan ownership. Good luck.
  3. Does this mean we get our players back? Excluding wee Stevie of course.
  4. It's one thing for opposing fans to kick the club whenever we're down. It's another when people on here constantly feed them by posting on here. It's a nothing affair, a slap on the wrist thing and quite funny as well. In the words of my granddaughter "Let It Go"" ffs.
  5. Gary Player once said "The harder I practise, the luckier I get." It certainly did him no harm.
  6. As long as they don't mind what we call them. Answers please in a plain brown envelope to Shull. I'll start: cnuts
  7. Saw him play at the London Stadium against Stoke about 5 years ago. I think it was the worst game of top league football I have ever seen in my adult life. Both teams were awful and Antonio was about the worst. He played as a right wing back and he hadn't a clue what to do. He basically ran up and down the right wing area about 10 yards either side of the half way line. Nobody gave him the ball. The abuse he was getting from his own fans was dreadful to hear. Fair play to the lad, he's turned his career around, but my cousin's mates basically thought he was a waste of a jersey at the time.
  8. Lick of paint? Not that I'm accusing KFC of tasting of one!
  9. Nonsense, 60 is the new 40. 70 is the new, er, it'll come to me in a minute. 💤
  10. Oi, 64 is not old you young whippersnapper! 🧓
  11. One meeting and everybody is at each other's throats, raised voices and insults flying everywhere. Fan ownership needs the right people at the top which will require some tough decisions. It also needs the fans to put up and shut up until the club is on a proper footing. It will all end in tears you know.
  12. McGrath, who yesterday was worth about £250K plus two players, today is worth hee-haw. He'll probably sign a pre-contract with Aberdeen in January and be away then for buttons
  13. Christ, that must be a hell of an injury for the lad. He broke a bone in his foot 4 months ago and he's still on the injured list.
  14. Yah and my granny snagged Winston Churchill. How easy is it to cook the books at football clubs. Look at Man City stadium naming rights and there's hundreds more like that. So you have evidence of this? You are accusing a buiness of posting false accounts, a qualified external auditor of being complicit in this and calling their past Chairman a liar for statements he has made in the press. Why don't you go to the authorities with your information?
  15. But also the Brown family have bankrolled them for years. Without them they would be a decent championship team. Like Accies and County. Wages they pay don't tally with their home supports. I wish that were so but apart from a rights issue when he took control of the club 25 years ago, neither the Brown family nor the family business have put any money into the running of the club. The additional revenue is from the non-football use of their ground and nothing else.
  16. GS owned the club so he had full executive powers and the buck stopped with him. Who has stepped into his shoes? Who do SMISA members criticise now?
  17. You are aware that the P&J reported the sinking of the Titanic as "Banchory man lost at sea".
  18. Not necessarily. John Glenn once said "As I hurtled through space, one thought kept crossing my mind - every part of this rocket was supplied by the lowest bidder".
  19. This may have been referenced before but there is no obligation in the private sector to offer goods and services to tender. Compulsory competitive tendering only applies in the public sector, being introduced Thatcher in 1980. Essentially the club can negotiate with whosoever it likes. If shareholders don't like the way work is handed out that's what AGM's are for.
  20. It's still the school holidays. Give the lad a break.
  21. Told you I was old - confusing it with "three scores years and ten". No excuse, but I was in a Brew Dog at the time of writing.🍺
  22. I think it's just adding to the mess made by successive governments. As I'm approaching my 7 score years I never went to nursery school. However, a bevy of aunties made sure I could read, count and tell the time before I went to school. Nowadays, there are more people leaving primary school semi-illiterate than in my day. The real problem with social media is its use by people who use it as tool to harm others. The mental health of children and teenagers is suffering in ways never seen before. Tracking down cyber bullies is way beyond the ken of most schools. Before social media bullies and morons stood out for most to see. Shut them down until they police their money grabbing sites properly. Old git rant over. 🤬
  23. You probably are anyway. Do they still burn virgins ina wicker basket? 🧙‍♀️🧹
  24. Faraway, I think you will find that it's a recommendation from the Scottish Government rather than a way to hike the prices. It's to protect cleaning staff or similar as most property owners live miles away from the property and use locals to do the service changeover. We've already been on four self catering breaks and they all had the same instructions, two referred to "In line with Scottish Government guidelines". If you were a regular self catering user (OOH Matron) you would have realised they haven't used Covid as an excuse. They've just put up the prices because they could, and by quite a bit at that.
