The Oran Kearney Interviews Thread
Desperately Seeking Susans replied to shull's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Interesting hearing Oran's last sentence which echoed Stubb's a wee bit, 'If they can't get motivated, they shouldn't be here'. -
Hamilton v St Mirren 22/9/18
Desperately Seeking Susans replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
I, and all of the people I was with today were very confident of a victory given the transformation we witnessed on Friday. Well, how things can change! Much of our play was, just...unacceptable. If we don't have the skills the opposition have then I can accept that. What I don't accept is the white flag waved midway through the second half - the team gave up. The passing and motivation went missing and since no blame can now be leveled against Stubbs there is nowhere to hide. McGinn failed to show himself as an example to his team mates in both motivation and accurate passing. And talking about the pitch, don't make that an excuse. Oran, if you are reading this please tell Anton when the goalkeeper is kicking the ball out, he should be looking back at him. If Sammy miskicks the ball, Anton would have no idea as he walks up the pitch without looking back. The ball go go anywhere even hitting the back of his head and he wouldn't have a clue. -

This forum displays the feelings and concerns that many fans have. The club promotes a community interaction - we are as one(?) so I believe that since the club are aware of this topic they really should issue a statement/explanation on the events of Friday night. Shouldn't our 'fan's' director on the board be advocating this and help promote the communication?

We Are A Team Again
Desperately Seeking Susans replied to shull's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
One of the great by-products of this result is the total unity on this forum - no slagging each other. Solidarity on and off the pitch! -
I would like to emphasize the part played by Magennis in subduing Celtic's most dangerous player, Forrest. I thought he played really well in what was a very difficult task. Bringing on Coulson to play a forward role was good thinking by OK. I think Coulson is probably a better forward than he is a fullback. It's a pity he didn't have more time to prove himself in this new position. Congratulations to all tonight.

Kerrigan died aged 49. Anyone know the cause of death? Tommy White sitting middle was one of the best center forwards Saints ever had. -

Never mind, Ricky, you write about anything you like! AS, isn't everything concerning the decision making in the club 'outwith' the control of the fans? -
Players in the huff

I don't think there has ever been a prospective employee that has not promoted their talents or embellished their CV a little in trying to convince the employer that he or she is the right person for the job. Now, the employer wouldn't really know too much about the candidate other that what they can derive from the interview so the only way to evaluate the applicant is by asking pertinent questions. I suppose that's why companies have a department devoted to this science, namely - human resources. But in this case, Alan Stubbs' background was an open book; everybody knew of him; he couldn't hide nor tell lies so it was essentially down to the BoD to ask the relevant questions and analyse the answers. I think it a bit disingenuous to suggest AS pulled the wool over the eyes of the board who, if they have 'been burned and been hurting' implies naivety. -

Welcome Lee Hodson ( loan )
Desperately Seeking Susans replied to Isle Of Bute Saint's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Strategically for Rangers it suits them to give us (or any other Scottish premier club) the best player they have available on loan because they can't play against Rangers but can play against Celtic. Every little counts.
