  1. I see a manager who knows tactics, tries to use them, but, unfortunately, the wrong tactics for any particular game. I say this often, that we don't have a team. We have good players, but playing them out of position doesn't help morale, plus the fact we don't have a fast striker like Guy, as much as he didn't do the business enough for me, but he did have speed. When Guy was here, we didn't have someone feeding him from midfield, as we expected Thomo to feed him, but Thomo, IMO, was head and heels above him as a striker. As we don't have a supplementary striker (Bahoken is too similar to Thomo to be a supplementary striker), my formation would be 3, 1,4,1,1, with Goodwin taking up the position in front of the back 3.
  2. Our biggest problem is we don't have ball winner in midfield, who can then pass to a creative one e.g. McLean, or Newton. all of our mids are, IMO, forward moving mids
  3. IMO, our biggest problem showed up on Saturday. 'Well had Keith Lasley running their midfield by sweeping up attacks and passing to another attacking player. We don't have a ball winner like that in midfield, and it shows regardless of formations. We have a load of creative midfielders in McLean, Newton, McGinn, Gowser, etc., and they, IMO again, would benefit from a ball winner
  4. Get a life and gie the guy a break! Would you liked to be dragged in to work on your day off because you, or your team-mates are having a bad time. I thought this type of management went oot the windae when I was passing my exams at Night school.
  5. I sufferd his nonsense behaviour at the QoS game. Dancing about in the aisle shouting jeebsy do this, do that. It was absolute murder to listen to him
  6. IMO, Goodwin in the last 3 games has been a nightmare, being caught out of position, doing daft things like slapping a player (he got off with that!). He drifts into midfield, and then is too slow to get back because all of our midfield is in attack mode ( not that they are doing much with it). We need a defensive midfielder, and not McGowan, that can step in, break up the attacking play, and distribute.
  7. 3 goals have been shots, and no goalkeeper would have had a chance with them. So where are the defensive midfielders who have allowed these 3 goals to be struck the way they were. Cornell was good at Ross Cty and QoS, but like a great deal of keepers, they can make positional faults. Sammy was guilty of that latter of poor positioning for free kicks. We all cringed when free kicks were being taken during Sammy's reign. Cornell is quicker thinking than Samson as well, in that, he is quicker at delivering the ball to our players most of the time, Samson used to wait so long that the opposition were already back into their own half when he decided to move the ball. Cornell will be better as the season goes on. TBH, I was doubtful earlier in the season about him, but the last few games made me think differently
  8. That semi-final cup game was filmed and used by the SFA for years as to how football should be played!! Yes, AFIK, that was the largest club crowd, and when you saw the amount of buses in Bridge St, Abercorn St, and other airts and pairts, it would've done anybody proud The Wee Man will be sadly missed, RIP Gerry
  9. As you weren't there, I wouldn't make any comments about the game, or the players. Goodwin was one of the worst players today, giving the ball away. Fine he apologised, but that should have been done at HT, as we were so bad. McLean, IMO, was one of the better players in, at least, he had a few wayward shots on goal (no too wayward)
  10. I don't know about wheelchair access on the coaches, but there are a few disabled guys and their wheelchairs travel to away matches. If you fancy an away trip on a supporters bus, I'd advise you to contact a supporters bus convener and ask them about going to a game. I'm sure you'd be most welcome to travel with them
  11. Norrie on the OS has just said there is no truth in the Riordan rumour
  12. For those who love to just watch football, Celtic game is on ITV4 at 1545, with KO 1600 It is not widely advertised

  16. Aberdeen had a portion at the back of their away stand for safe standing last season, but their stewards caused problems with the people standing BEFORE the game started. The Celtic fans do it St Mirren park when they visit as well, but they are a law unto themselves
  17. St Mirren used their sprinklers before th game, and again at half time, after the rain we had right up to KO!!
  18. It's not really pay at the gate. You have to wait in a queue to buy a ticket outside the ground before going thro' the turnstile
  19. To change your package, phone retentions and threaten to leave, they will then offer you something added, e.g. the package you have just mentioned
  20. You can only fold a piece of paper on itself 6 times, after that it tears
  21. Correct. A right footed left back, but I was referring to his shooting ability and as a defender
  22. Believe it or not, I am not a boo boy. I make my observations by watching Saint Mirren and praising the good, but I'll also slag the bad. It is too early in the season to be making judgements team wise, but, at times, I think DL would benefit from sitting higher up for about 30 mins to see how his formation is working for a particular game
