Laughable at best. He's always been given a hard time from our fans, i've really no idea why, he can be poor at times, but no more than the rest of the teams.
McLean has done more for us this season, than any of our other midfield players, he deserves to be in the team ahead of the rest of them based on form. Which shows how poor we've been when he's been average.

I hate to derail the thread, but the criticism of McLean is over the top, and i hate to say it McGinn is being over-hyped. He's a good young player but like the rest of the squad this season, he hasn't shown much the few times he's played this season. He's certainly not going to suddenly cure our woes, our problems are across the park.
I thought McLean was our best performer in our first league games, not that says all that much. I haven't made the last two games due to being offshore, so i can't comment, but against Killie, Ross County and Partick, he was our only real attacking threat, although this is nulified by playing on the left, he'd be better suited playing off whatever striker we have.
He showed some great late runs, good positionally, nice passes and got some good crosses into the box. He's also scored 1/3rd of our goals this season. The only real criticism of him is this 'lack of effort', 'doesn't track back'. Then again football fans seem to prefer some guy who runs around a lot rather than being good.

I actually thought McLean was our greatest threat on Saturday, he is never a left mid though. His passing, and runs into the box were pretty good, and he should have scored.
He's another one, that seems to have come under a lot of criticism from fans. He hasn't been as good as he's shown previously but neither is he as bad as some make out, McLean playing certainly isn't the cause of our woes.
I do like McGinn and ideally him and McLean should play, however with the way the current team is set up, one will be stuck wide to accommodate Harkins, which is a waste for either of them.
Edit to add, if anything McLean is more effective further forward, potentially playing off the striker if we continue to play with one. He's surprisingly good at timing runs into the box, can find a bit of space, as well as having a decent left foot. If he hadn't picked up his injury, and the resultant downturn in form i don't think he'd still be here.

Cornell was the only player near a pass mark today for me.
Saved the penalty, and was badly let down by his team mates for the goals, and they continued the trend from Inverness of playing short backpasses, they look like they have no confidence in him, but they certainly aren't helping him.
He was comfortable with the ball at his feet, and had no chance with any of the goals.
He's been under a lot of criticism on here, i'm guessing because of the Morton game, and one bad kick out, but he's really doesn't deserve it. The blame firmly rests with the set up of the team.
Goodwin shouldn't be captain, he really can't organise anything, and was shown to be really lacking any defensive capability, especially for centre half.
It was a shambles today, no fight, tactics that don't suit our team and no spirit. Lennon sitting on his arse for the rest of the game after the penalty says it all, doesn't communicate, and really lacks any passion when arguing for decisions with the 4th official.

The rest walked off after a short applause of us, but Goodwin decided to take it upon himself to raise a hand to apologise, if he really wanted to he could have pulled his finger out, and tried to organise the defence or even attempt to motivate the players during the game.
He really thinks he's better than he is, he needs to be taken down a peg or two, and told to pull the finger out, as well as a few other players.

Thought McLean played well out of position yesterday, competed well for the ball (something he's been criticised for) won a decent amount of headers as well as being his usual creative self.
First half was poor, too many times McGowan and Harkins turned into their markers or our crossing was terrible.
Really turned with having 10 men to play against, more space for everyone. Just poor finishing and decision making along with some outstanding saves from Samson stopped us winning.
McGregor was alright at right back, but didn't look entirely match fit, and Thompson looked shattered later on.
A much needed improvement but still not really good enough
