  1. I believe the last league game in which we took at least a point after being behind was when we beat Queen of the South just before Christmas last year. It's a worrying run, although in fairness there were few games in the second half of last season when we were behind.
  2. Ourselves, Kilmarnock and Hartlepool being linked with young Newcastle striker Elias Sorensen. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-hot-shot-elias-sorensen-15493326
  3. McCall has probably played a good part in getting Shankland firing. He did the same with Dobbie a decade ago when he had him at Queen of the South.
  4. Good performance, belter of a goal and a clean sheet. Happy days
  5. The same could be said of some of the posters who are against it. Sadly it's pretty much a waste of time having a debate about SMiSA and Buy the Buds on here because the thread is dominated by a handful of people who have decided that it is a force for good/evil and will twist every tiny thing to back their position.
  6. Dunno what's worse - that our players are diving or that they're awful at it.
  7. Delighted to see the nonsense of hand dryers get sod all support. Hopefully that'll make the club think twice about such ridiculous suggestions - although they're probably quite happy as they got the goalposts which was no doubt what they most wanted.
  8. The brass neck of Alex Rae giving someone into trouble for talking about Rangers
  9. Option three for me. The rest is stuff the club should be paying for themselves. Anyone know if the club plan on following the lead of many others by providing free sanitary products?
  10. Is Jones meant to be a defender or a midfielder? If he's a defender, why didn't we bring him on when Ferdinand went off? Would have made more sense than moving Paul McGinn to centre half.
  11. "But I want to take us to a level we haven’t seen here before." Oh we've seen this level many times before
  12. I remember him scoring a couple at a game at Firhill we won 2-1 in 1997/98, one of which sounds like the one being described - although I thought he headed it after flicking it over the defender as he didn't have the time to wait on it dropping to be volleyed.
  13. Some extremely crappy quality coverage of it. Mallan's hat-trick goal against Raith was probably the best at the new stadium. Outstanding build-up and an even better strike.
  14. One of the problems I had with Gus was that we didn't seem to be able to get loan players on loan from clubs down south to the same extent as other clubs, particularly Falkirk. Bit ironic that he's returned when the squad has gone to the other extreme!
  15. I thought the delegating thing was more him not being used to having folk to delegate to as he'd had to do it all himself before, rather than him being reluctant to let folk get on with things.
  16. Waste of time doing this. Giving him attention that he'll revel in. Only winners will be the lawyers. Best just letting it go and moving on.
  17. On paper Cotterill looks like he'd be a good suspension but slightly suspicious of why he's been on a free for so long. It's not like Ferdinand who was released just before the window shut, would have thought someone down south would have taken a punt on him in the summer. The Coustrain thing will probably just be a case of us being linked with random guys playing in Ireland.
  18. Yeah, Stubbs is innocent in this whole thing as the players decided to drive him out. He definitely didn't do anything that may have led to them deciding to act that way. They just randomly decided they'd had enough.
  19. From the Mail: QUEEN’S PARK head coach Gus MacPherson insists that it is extremely premature to talk about him leaving his role at the Spiders and heading back to St Mirren. The 49-year-old has been linked with the job of technical director at the Paisley club, where he was manager for nearly seven years, and the Hampden outfit have given permission for talks to take place. MacPherson, who left St Mirren in 2010, has yet to meet with new Saints boss Oran Kearney as well as chairman Gordon Scott and chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick, and he wants to hear their views on what the role entails before moving forward. MacPherson said: ‘St Mirren asked Queen’s Park for permission to speak to me on Tuesday and that has been granted. I do not know much more than that and what I have read after the story appeared.’ ‘I do not know Oran and I have never spoken to him. I do know St Mirren as a club, but any move would depend on what Oran wants and what St Mirren want from the role. ‘The manager has to be comfortable about getting on with the job he wants to do and I do not know what any role supporting that entails.’ The timing of St Mirren’s request could hardly have come at a worse time for Queen’s as it arrived just a couple of hours after they learned they would be losing their home as part of the Scottish FA’s deal to buy Hampden. MacPherson will hold off making a decision, as he explained: ‘I do know what I would be giving up and I have turned jobs down in the past, so nothing has been agreed. Hopefully talks take place between everyone involved soon.’
  20. Yup, was just pointing it out before someone crueller than me called you out on it. For Gus and bike-related player rejection yo could have Mahrez, although I have doubts about parts of that story and how involved he was in it.
  21. The size of Adam's arse and the fact he was usually breathing out of it after half an hour may have had something to do with that. Agree with the general sentiment but Mooy was a Lennon signing.
  22. He may have worked well with youth initially but by the end he was naming the bench one or two subs short rather than fill it with kids. Once Stephen McGinn got sold in January he found himself short of an under-21 player for the squad so in came Rory Loy on loan. He barely played but it seemed having him there was preferable to bringing in someone from the youth set-up. Loy himself even admitted a few months ago on the Pele podcast that was the reason he was here and it was a waste of time. He also said Graham Carey was brought in to fulfil a similar role, the difference being a player got injured in the warm-up for a game against Rangers, Carey came in, scored a great free-kick and he never looked back. The fact Loy said the injured player was Steven Robb probably adds that one credence! Interestingly, the reason Loy said he came back to us in 2017 rather than join another club was because he felt he had a point to prove and wanted to show he was capable of playing football. Given that his goal at Easter Road kept us up, maybe we should all be thanking Gus for helping us avoid relegation to League One...
